IF THQ wants a fighter in Evo, do NOT make it UFC. Make a new IP, and original fighter.
Or they, like the great Duke Phillips, can simply ignore all of that , take a moral shortcut and write EVO a check.
Id like to see UFC make it to EVO. problem is, i havent cared about a UFC game since the Dreamcast game and Pride FC for PS2. i think for people to care the UFC FG community (is there one?) would have to show some high level play and see if anybody cares. personally, as long as theres more than SF and Tekken in the US scene im cool. Diversity is the spice of life.
Ufc 3 needs more flash ko’s
it has to be a sim not a fighting game
thq made a good fighting game in wwe all stars.
I’m certain that if THQ offered EVO enough money, they would be in. I mean, look at MK9 (oh snap).
MK9>>>>>>>>>>>>mvc3>sfiv
seriously.
Agreed.
A game that you can’t make accurate frame data for, a game with wonkey hitboxes and extreme comeback mechanics, and a game where the only true gripe is the lack of blockstun and the reversal window. Hmmmmmmmm
I sure as hell will. I watch the actual show but I hate the game, but just like Fight night boxing its usually free when I play friends and at small tourney’s for money so it being at evo is something I would vote yes.
Why do we have to kid ourselves for? Weather or not the outlook of the game is popular is still better competition than any western based fighter. Its actually the only thing the west will never be good at.
All 3 of them suck… Just SFIV and MK9 suck less than MvC3.
what comeback mechanics? and there IS blockstun, its just certain moves and combos actually generate (some) FRAME ADVANTAGE on block as opposed to a whiff, where they could incur a big negative.
What the fuck are you talking about?
Right now the US might be coming up second at major tourneys but thats usually second in the world.
Now if you said canada or europe are not any good then history might have a president for your comment.
Don’t play dumb. X-factor is just a stupid mechanic. Hell, calling it stupid is a big understatement.
i was talking about MK9. mustve misread you. but yeah, MvC3 is a piece of shit.
Huh I meant development of fighting games meaning the games that the western companies make. In actual tourney’s yeah we come up second and first a lot. I’m sorry for the confusion if I caused any.
UFC would probably want some sort of money from EVO to be a part of it. THQ may want a game in at EVO, but i agree with the poster who said they should just make a new IP. make it a MMA game without “official sponsorship” or something
As much as I love MK9, it was really jarring to hear EVO announce it as a tournament game before the release of the game.
Regarding UFC as a tournament game, I really don’t like that idea. If I don’t like the sport, then why would I want to spectate the UFC game tournament.
Like i said, if THQ wants a game at evo, they are better off making an actual fighting game.
What can you say? All MK9 did was being MK9 and that was enough to bring in more people then MB ever could.
Most people would choose launch day MK9 with the horrible engine and the bugs and the infinites over any polished “weaboo” fighting game.
It doesn’t even matter how “good” is the game. Only the brand is important in the west.
If any of the animu games had problems as big as the mainstream games, they would be dead from day one but there’s always a double standard.
And also let’s not forget even MK9 had people like Tom Brady who made pushing the game their second job.(And in Tom Brady’s case he also creates drama and brings in the viewers) If it weren’t for those people MK9 would have not survived 1 month.
