UFC 2009: Undisputed Thread

Too good.

^^^
Every video i’ve seen of Crocop in this game, he’s getting his ass kicked.

Found this the other day. Complete ratings for every character in the game. I’m surprised that there’s only two characters in the game that have Judo as their grappling art. Only two characters doesn’t really justify it to be its own style and those two aren’t even good.

Seeing Mirko Cro Cop so low was surprising too. He’s had a bad run in the UFC but I thought he’d at least be above Brandon Vera, who has done horribly in the Heavyweight division. BJ Penn so high in the Welterweight division is surprising too. Given his latest match in the division against GSP, I thought he’d be at least 3rd or 4th. Jon Fitch is way down there too. He tied the longest winning streak in the UFC before he lost to GSP, and he was no slouch in that fight. He went the distance and put on an amazing show.

I completely forgot that Randy Couture wasn’t in the game. Should have taken out Mark Coleman and put him in .

I’m also concerned online won’t be handled well. Not tracking disconnects is unwise, look at the uproar it caused with SFIV. Hopefully they’ll realize that and fix it somehow. Also, the issue of people using turbo controllers is disappointing too. Just seems like anybody with a wrestler will get a guaranteed take down everytime they try if they have a turbo controller, goes for submissions too.

They made Wanderlei’s grappling style wrestling? I was pretty sure he had a blackbelt in BJJ.

i managed to buy it @ a zelles here early…lol…
game fucking sux balls

some other stats:

Best Speed: (80) BJ Penn, Mike Swick, Lyoto Machida,

Best Submission Offense: (92) Joe Lauzon, Thales Leites, Wilson Gouveia, Frank Mir

highest submission defense: (92) Big Nog, Mir, Maia and Chris Lytle

I don’t know what’s the purpose in the rotating the stick or the button mashing. Button mashing seems to be stronger than rotating the stick. I know button mashing is the more “brute’ish” way of getting out of submissions while rotating the stick is more “skillful”?

Submissions doesn’t seem to be very viable. There seems to be no “flash submission” where you just get caught in shit. I admire the flash KO realism but I really wish there was some sort of “flash submission” where you punch and the guy gets you in an triangle or something mid-transition to get a sweep into submission.

Im going to be the top-tier styles are going to be Muay Thai and Kick-boxing. Those kicks and clinches are just too devastating. I don’t believe that many people will take it to the ground.

And can someone please tell me how to get the full mount!? I would always get the full mount but the other guy would be holding me down. I would transition but then it moves me to side mount all the time! Is there some transition with the triggers kinda like transition+trigger to get rubberguard/slam etc etc?

How does Maia not have top Submission offense?

i can see this destroying the game online

That dude sucks. I’ve seen his other videos. If people didn’t try to mash with him in close range, they’d win. Backstep and two piece his ass. Jab-straight, that will fuck him up entirely. Then he’d start trying to parry, and thats when you kick the hell out his leg.

hmm, if i was fighting lesnar, andI was crocop. i think i just wouldve kept to the outside and utilized cro cop thunderous kicks more

also, is there an official roster that is released?
nvm found it

i wish they had legend unlockables

thrown in some shamrocks, rutten, servern, royce, randy, gay mezger, miletich and rizzo

So the game’s out, I’m about to go and pickup my preorder in a little bit.

Hey subt-L, I have a question for you. Did THQ address the issue of turbo controllers?

the ground game is terrible …mash fEST!!!

So having played the demo, I’m having a lot of fun. I’m not real big into MMA or anything, but I downloaded it on the recommendation of a friend and I can definitely see what he likes about it. It’s hella satisfying to get in there and pound some dude’s face in, and when you score that big knockout hit the feeling of satisfaction you get…man.
I think I’ll be picking this game up when it comes out over here; I doubt I’ll be much good at it and I probably won’t go real deep with it, but I’m certainly going to have a hell of a good time playing it.

The submission game is a mash fEST!!!

The ground game and transitions are not.

Man did they make everyone orthodox instead of southpaw now? If so that’s fucking dumb. Looks like Cro-Cop is standing orthodox in there.

Sub is not mash fest. you have to shine with the sticks. you can either shine it out to recover defensive or mash to power out. and if you know what you are doing you can easily beat someone.

So this game is going to be a button mashing fest or does the game have any depth and requires a lot of technique to win?

I’m seriously thinking of picking this game up in the next hour.

I just played for 5 straight hours.

Man this game is addicting especially career mode.

I didn’t expect career mode to be so deep. Sparring, pick you own fights, pick your sponsors, what gym you want to train in, what camp you want to train with, etc…

Create-a-fighter customization is also deep. From tattoo to the logo on your trunk…
