getting lots of ragequits in ranked Light-Heavy when I try to sub them. Ehh, fun game though.
After reading this…I have an idea…for our League… I believe we should have casual and League matches, LM determines the ranking among us, and Casuals are just to get better. And in the interest of fairness. I think, in League matches we shouldn’t use CAF’s, but casuals would be fine. Cause like he said if you have a guy who has 115 sub thats ridiculous.
Agreed. I want to get decent at this game.
Wrestling is damaging as hell. Throws do some massive damage, and are almost impossible to counter… Plus, with Rampage at least, you can throw into half guard into Full mount… Granted I am sure none of this works on a real opponent.
I completely agree. Or, in the alternative, maybe we could have brackets for CAFs based on your overall rating.
I.e. A rank if your CAFs overall is between 100-92, B rank if your guy is between 92-84, etc. (These numbers are of course arbitrary.) I for one think it would be a bit more fun if we could use our CAFs, but that’s just me.
It does, but as was stated earlier, the game is heavily math dependant. So if your rating is not aligned with your opponents, it won’t work.
Since we all seem to be in agreement…How about we restart the thread so we can get names and gamertags in the first post??? As you all can see…I’m geeked. I love this freaking game.
Yeah man. Flying knee is so slow and you have to be at probing range to do it(good luck hitting the Machida AI). On the other hand, Superman can be done from striking range and is fast as shit.
About Judo, I agree that BJJ is more versatile on the ground… I just love the Judo-throw:rofl:. And yeah, flying armbar is BJJ-exclusive.

CAF Ranked
That sound good?
Does the OP still post in here? We could get him to edit his post.
I got the game last night. It’s very solid.
Most of my gripes have already been addressed so I wont reiterate:sweat:
Screw it…fuck them damn menus.:bluu:
Also…what did every one pick as their styles?
I picked Kickboxing/BJJ
Too good.
Only thing that is going to suck in the league is if 2 people want Chuck Lidell or Lyoto Michida etc.
Huh? Does this game not have mirror match?
I picked this game up 2 days ago. OMG soooo addicting. I haven’t touched SF4 since getting it lol. Right now I’m whoring out Wanderlei Silva in the light heavyweight division. I’m gonna stick with him for sure and eventually branch off into other guys in other divisions. He doesnt seem to be that popular online either which is good for me. The game does not allow mirror matches.
I jumped into ranked today and out of about 20 games I ran into around 5-6 DCers. Shit is so dumb. I dunno how something so blatantly obvious was missed during play testing. I played lightweight division matches exclusively and HOLY FUCK does EVERYBODY pick Rampage??? Jesus Christ…every other match was Rampage. I surprisingly saw very little Anderson Silva.
I’m up for some games with SRKers, but as mentioned I only play one dude right now. I havent bothered making a custom fighter yet. I did run into one in a ranked match who had damn near 90+ in all strikes. I got KOed in the first round. :bluu: Afterwards I changed my search filter for UFC fighters only
 That, my good sir, sounds like a plan.
As an aside. I cannot EVER find an online match. I’m starting to think it’s my girl’s internet connection. When I play at her apartment, I cannot ever find anyone online, ranked or player. This is odd.
What if I like Rampage in both real life and this game?
I think I am going to make my CAF as much like Machida as I can. The guy has style, but I don’t think CAF can do a good job of recreating the real Machida.
Huh, well I guess I should have a main and sub for all weight classes. No biggie. I’m willing to sub if someone plays my main.
Heavy:
Mirko Cro Cop(main)
Frank Mir(sub)
Light Heavy:
Lyoto Machida(main)
Forrest Griffin(sub)
Middle:
Thales Leites(main)
Demian Maia(sub)
Welter:
Karo Parisyan(main)
Ben Saunders(sub)
Light:
Kenny Florian(main)
Matt Serra(sub)
Maybe we should have something like “Higher ranked player gets to choose first” or something if the players can’t agree?
Agreed. Granted I don’t mind subbing at all.
We should all post mains and subs too. Since that can solve a lot of problems
I think I was under the impression that we would play a best of 3, 5, or 7 format. Say the players have to alternate (i.e. you can’t pick Michida every round), but the higher ranked player gets “home court advantage.” That is to say, If I’m ranked more highly than you, we play a best of three, I get Anderson Silva in matches 1 and 3 (if that’s who we both want), you get him in match 2. I think that’s fair. But it’s just a suggestion.
If you remember a while back when Rampage knocked out Liddell, there was heavy coverage of this fight on ESPN. (Basically, this is where ESPN gave UFC the “ESPN Blessing of Being a Legit Sport”.) So a lot of people (who don’t actually watch) probably know him by name, as opposed to other fighters. Explains why there’s also a good bit of Lesnar in the heavyweight division.
See above.
So…
Initial Draft of Rules for the SRK Fight Club:
**1. Three Leauges:
I. Ranked (We need someone to be responsible for keeping track of points.)
II. Player.
III. Sparring.
I. Ranked:
A. No created or downloaded fighters.
B. For our purposes a match is a best of (three or five or seven) full fights that end in submission, KO, or decision.
C. All matches are played to 3 rounds. 5 round fights on this game turn into chicken runs and are stupid. And it will make it easier for us to keep score on the boards. See Rule I(F).
D. Since we all solemly swear NOT to ragequit, in the event there is an accidental disconnect, that battle will be replayed with no penalty to either party, until someone wins a majority of the battles, and hence the actual match.
E. If you agree to fight at a certain time and you can’t make it, please have the curtesy to send your opponent a message (on the system preferably, but here is fine) so they won’t be waiting on you.
F. Maybe we could use some sort of ranking system. I.e. 15 points for a sweep, 10 points for winning 3-1, 5 points for winning 3-2, etc.
G. Both parties must cop to the results of their match within 3 days for it to be valid. None of that, “oh, we played a month ago and I won so give me my points.” This is just for fun, and we’re going on scout’s honor here.
H. When you report, please report the entire results of the match. This helps ensure fairness, and honesty. I.e.:
Fight 1: Bob, KO
Fight 2: Bob, KO
Fight 3: Joe, Submission
Fight 4: Joe, Decision
Fight 5: Bob, Submission
Winner: Bob 3-2
II. Player
A. Same rules as above, except we allow for created or downloaded players.
III. Sparring
A. This is just for messing around, or learning.
- Ways to get barred from the Club:
A. Ragequitting - Disconnects happen. It’s fine if your internet craps out. However, if we find that you are ragequitting, no one will play with you. If your net is spotty, tell your opponent ahead of time.
B. Excessive Taunting on The Boards - Talk all the sh*t you want on the headset, but don’t get the thread shut down by bringing it on the boards. **
-fin.
I welcome thoughts, questions, suggestions, revisions, etc.
How will matches be organized? Round robin or bracket?
Or we can just go by what everyone else has been using since the first league was made. =/
Rules and Regulations:
1 ? We are supporting all the divisions provided we get enough people to join the league (82 fighters in the game / 2 = 41 people in the league).
2 ? It?s first come, first served when it comes to fighter selection. We are using AUTHENTIC FIGHTERS found in the game. NO ONLINE CREATIONS.
3 ? Fighters for each weight division are broken down into groups of 4 or 5 fighters depending.
4 ? Every fighter will face their opponents 3 times in their individual group. They can play their matches anytime they?d like to before the deadline. So if you?d like to play one and take time off to get back to practicing since you lost, you are eligible to do so.
5 ? The two best fighters from each individual group will move on to a one loss tournament for the grand prizes for each division. Think of this like the World Baseball Classic. (I don’t think we’re going to use prizes, so we’ll just call this the battle for dat belt. You get to defend once we restart.)
6 ? Every fight shall have the stamina bar turned off to create a more realistic fight between the participants.
7 ? If there are any discrepancies on results or your opponents please e-mail or private message me and we?ll handle them privately rather than publicly on the forum.
8 ? The league will start the following week after the game releases around May 25.
9 ? Players will have two weeks to play their opponents in their group to advance onto the tournament.
10 ? Please leave immaturity and bigotry in your own home and not on the forums or via communication with your opponents. If you are reported as becoming overly aggressive with your language from your opponents, you may possibly be disqualified.
11 ? Groupings of each division will unveiled once everyone has joined and we are ready to start. If you have any knowledge of where fighters train at and where their hometowns are, then you?ll have the basis on how the league has been set up when it came down to grouping them. This is the closest you?ll see to the Olympics in MMA haha.
12 - Players MUST post their results in this fashion:
Chuck Liddell defeats Tito Ortiz via KO/Sub/Unanimous Decision at (3:00 in the 1st round). Rating: 5/5 stars. The rating is how exciting the match was to you; it’s purely opinion.
:shake:
If there was an easier way to tell how much stamina you have maybe. But right now, there is no way to tell how worn out you are unless you have the meter on.
Slower movements aren’t a way to tell?
I had no idea.
Yes there is? Your guy hunches over and goes a lot slower. It’s something you kinda had to have a feel for. I mean can you do continuous headkicks without stopping in real life? :looney: Muay Thai whipping costs A LOT of stamina just so you know.
Well thats when you get gassed. I mean, you can’t tell how long it will be until you get gassed. You just have to sort of guess if you don’t have stamina bars on. If you have stamina bars, imo, it is more like real life because you know when to stop.
