I’ll keep that in mind… I was thinking along those lines and there are a couple of companies abroad and in the US that DO ship/import boards…
As with anything, it’s who you buy from and WHEN… (I’ve learned with “When” that timing is everything between paying below MSRP for any item or multiples of its original cost! I try not to buy stuff for above 50% original cost – and those are cheaper items(!) – and have NEVER imported a game system on Day 1 of release…)
Sweet, thanks! Yeah, been busy. I’ll give you a shout before the year is up, hopefully
Haha, not yet, man Heard your name get dropped on that GGPO ST tourney stream! I don’t see 360 support happening by the initial release (though I’d love to, of course).
So, things have slowed down a bit do to a butt load of social events and general RL stuff. I’ve made a schedule for myself through the end of the year and it looks like it will be a pinch to get this done by SoCal Regionals. Currently I have a few balls up in the air:
Polishing up my next rev. of USB interface board. Mostly mechanical, a little feature specific.
Br0ken_Engli5h is doing the faceplates for me, so we are ironing out those details.
Still deliberating on some mechanical choices like screw styles and other mechanical fasteners.
Beyond that, I still need to get the USB response time locked down and my jigs made for repeatable body work when I’m ready to mass produce these pigs. Thanks for all the interest, guys, and I will be uber excited when folks can start using these @ tournies!

Hey, guys! Progress is a bit slow lately do to more social/family engagements:
Haven’t pulled the trigger yet on the new USB interface PCB, as I had a few extra ideas to implement to make it a more robust product.
Haven’t had much time to iron out the input response time, so still over 1 frame of lag.
Faceplates will probably be produced by another engraving outfit. As much as I’d love to give Br0ken Engli5h the business, we’ve both agreed, based on a prototype run he has already done, his setup is way too slow for high quantity.
Time frame is still up in the air. At this point, it is safe to say that the UD-CPS2 will not be ready to roll before the end of this year (hold on to your Christmas money, children!). My baby will be coming next March, so that is the make or break deadline I’m giving myself Sorry for the delay, but I’ll do my best to make it worth the wait!

That’s exciting. You’ll have plenty of time once the baby is home though, not much to do for the dad while the mom is in the “walking source of food” phase. Also, the mother is very tired at first, so lots of free nights.
BE sent me a couple samples of the faceplate, which turned out crazy fresh, to say the least. Meanwhile I’ve been looking into filtering out some power supply noise that I noticed on the composite video output.
As I was taking a moment to snap that photo, I realized I should probably re-prioritize and get my USB stuff finished first. I can iron out the power supply noise issue later, possibly while my beta testers are doing their evals.
