he’s the really fobby asian guy, has braces, glasses, plus ryu/akuma/ken for the most part…i’ve seen him play hugo :-/ but he doesn’t do much except the clapping move.
i’m starting to think i misjudged GTO again. cuz i remember he tried talking to me once, he has a heavy accent so it was hard to understand, but he was really nice and it was just a firendly conversation.
but he stopped talking to me ever since i got pissed off at him, taunted him 10 times a row, mashed on the buttons while taunting and left. so since that day, the impression he makes on me kind of went downhill. the more i watched him play, the more my head started to hurt. but i forgot one thing. he’s probably one of those old school guys who think fireballs are hot shit. that could be a reason why he throws them out so much. recently i’ve seen him try to go offensive on curtis(but that could be because playing like a turtle wasn’t helping at all). whatever his reason for playing like that…eh whatever.

Yeah, GTO isn’t an asshole imo…he actually plays way more maturely and reservedly than I used to when I would play him. I would go so far as to say he’s a valuable asset to ZZ because, let’s face it, beating his play-style sometimes takes a considerable amount of skill, but we have to be able to beat it. As far as I’m concerned I want all the practice I can get against the scrubby repetitive shit so that I don’t get super pissed-off when I go to a different arcade and get owned by a GTO clone. I would save my anger for the people who deserve it, because this fool is just oblivious.
ahhh…i saw THE HOBO playing cvs2 today…well i caught a glimpse of it…all i watched was his ATHENA(r2) get raped…

Yeah. He doesn’t understand why we get mad at him (i was guilty of this crime before, now i just shrug it off for the reasons chris mentioned), or, he sometimes doesn’t even realize we’re mad. Allen, when you beat him and did the taunts, he asked me later “i don’t know why that guy was building my meter,” it was kind of funny. He builds patience, and is definitely a good gate into “the world of street fighter 3”, considering you have to learn to move without rolling and the like.

and just to let you know, rock, maki and mai do not resemble anime characters in anyway.
as far as cvs2 goes, i can beat him, no problem. but trying to learn 3s, getting turtled to death, at every attempt. along with knowing exactly how he plays, but not knowing the properties of each move, i get hit by random shit more often than i should. it’s real frustrating when i can SEE/predict what he’s gonna do, and he does exactly what i expected but i still get hit by it.
and i noticed that when he plays, he just kind of has 90% focus on what your character is doing and 10% focus on his own character, since pressing strong from full screen away is safe enough to react to anything you do.
i taunted him in 3s, not cvs2. so it must have been someone else that he pissed off in cvs2.

Empty jump, throw, jump with early attack, throw, then empty jump throw. Either small jump or don’t jump at all for the rest of the round.
OR do a jump attack that you know I can parry, get hit by the low forward, then walk up and throw me while I’m dazed and wondering “why my super didn’t come out.”
Ahh yes, whenever this happens, the following thought goes through my head. Hmmm geez that sucks, elliot should’ve nailed that super and I should be dead… man I should just let him finish me off. At the same time though i’m already punishing him with a brainless custom… I guess I’m a jerk .
Gah GTO… I find I can beat him if I have the patience… which is very very rare. Sorry chris but it’s not a matter of skill, it’s a matter of being able to, without guilt, turtle more than him. After losing a few times I just sat back in the corner with blanka and charged my bar (suprise gto, electricity builds bar faster than strong punch) and jumped over/slide under his fireballs. After a while I guess he got tired of my turtling :eek: and starting to jump around like an idiot as a means to taunt me. I got close enough and made him eat a blanka custom… Mmmm. Anyways, I don’t care what you guys say about him “not understanding”… he knows that we are annoyed by him and I think he loves it. This is why I will never write a sympathy for GTO post.
Oh and I think the DDR people love athena because they think crouch fierce is ub3rl3et t0 t3h maX0rz… either that or they’re following GTU’s footsteps (because he does so well in cvs2)

Even with rolling he is still is difficult to beat. Its true though, as soon as you can beat him consistantly at 3s or cvs2, your are no longer a scrub and can start working on some tactics that work on higher lvl players. Thats the really irritating thing about playing him. i find myself using some scrubby tactics (roll activate) vs gto and not all the cool mixups i tryed out at home. It is certainly a good skill to have, to be able to switch styles based on your opponet, but it sucks dick playing him because its soo cut and dry, and not fun.
playing allen is fun because he mixes you up like SHAKE n BAKE then tosses your around LIKE Garden salad, then takes you to the house like trick daddy and the best part about it is that you dont feel bad losing to him because he freakin tries hard to do the shit he does.

i do roll activate with sakura against groves without counter attack because the sooner you land a custom, the sooner you can build meter for another, so i dont mind gaurd breaking anyone who isnt in a CA groove or is using a shitty CA character (ie blanka gets the STFU when he tries to CA sakura, its kinda funny actually)
