Minibosses. They’re a rock band (i guess i’d call em that) that play nes music. damn, i’m addicted to them, i wish they would learn to play some more nes game music… the person who mentioned nes runs and stuff reminded me of that.
anyhow, if u think the nes runs are craze u should go to mirc #gamecombos and look for people who taped players beating Raiden Fighters with one quarter, and some others who beat this INCREDIBLY SUPER hard airplane game called Ikaruga. that shit is ridiculous…
The Minibosses fucking rock! I love the Metal NES tunes. I made a cd a long ass while ago that has a grip of their songs on it. Rygar, Mega Man, Double Dragon, Contra, Metroid… too good. I need to listen to that cd again. It makes for some pretty good study music and cvs2 playing music.
You guys might want to check out an album called “Battle of the Best” put out by Konami. Professional metal renditions of lots of music from Konami games. A lot of you know I’m a metal fanatic, and I can tell you that my jeans were basically filled with cream the first time I listened to this. I think the Castlevania songs are the bombest, but that’s just me.
I play guitar, and I like to jam along to the minibosses mp3s, along with stuff i get from vgmusic.com…like those megaman tunes…if any of you guys play, then post post post! It would be very cool if I could play those Castlevania lines with an acoompanying guitar!
doug: goto japan, you can watch people beat those games like everywhere without dying. its fucking crazy its like a fad over there to be able to beat those insane games on one life. i saw it all the time in japan.
lol that’s freakin GREAT, especially since i can’t afford to go to japan… next time u go, try to record at least 40 hours of footage… i wanna share in ur amazement!
alan (man i’m sorry i still don’t remember how to spell ur name), yeah it’s from the game digdug for the nes. have u played that shit? that shit’s hilarious. which reminds me, i played it on this cartridge that holds like 101 games. i wish they have shit like that on ps2.
Seems you get the rolento super about 1/20 times after the CC so check out the part on rolento vs zangief… looks like doing the motion for the super during the knife throw makes it easier.
ohh and john I play a bit of guitar, just show me some tabs… btw my brother is the one that takes lessons. He just got a Gibson SG … $1100 guitar
yea i played it, i love the old nes classics. i want to play megaman 3 and 4 right now, esp on the old nes console. gotta love that old school controller
Ohhh now I see what you meant all those times you told me at ZZ to finish the custom with the knife super. I was just confused every time you told me that so I never bothered but now that you decide to show me a demo of it, I think I will try that next time. thx qwwah. u my hero.
Allen, I’m like the only person in the world who believes this, but Megaman 4 is far superior to Megaman 3, so play it first. Plus MM3 is huge and takes forever to beat.
Marvin, here’s the picture. I have no other reliable place to store the pic right now. Everyone else I guarantee you’re not interested so there’s really no need to even click :).
oh. i thought qwa meant just do the knife super…that’s what i would have done
i think mm4 is better than mm3 as well. why would anyone say mm3 is superior when mm4 is the first megaman game to have a charge buster and a slide? i used to own both catridges. and yes megaman3 probably had better character design, but mm4 was more fun in terms of playability.
HOWEVER…i guess some people like mm3 since you can do that glitch where you fall off the edge(someone holds down B and A or something like that on the other controller) and you gain super jump and invincbility for the whole round(but you lose the music which really sucked). i used to do that glitch it was the only way i could get far in that game(i never beat it )
i never beat mm4 either
fuck wily’s and dr. cocksuck’s castle. too hard for me backwhen i was like what? i forget 8 or 10 years old?
i just want to go back get the nes and the games and play it. we have a NES console here. but only have 2 crappy ass NES games. Platoon and friday the 13th. and they are probably one of the hardest game i seen. i mean jeebus…when you find jason in friday the 13th(which is like maybe 5-10 minutes in to the game) he just wails on you and kicks your ass and you just watch all your counselors die in the next 30 minutes. damn it’s like the movie lol.
one game that i didn’t get to beat back when i was young was kid icarus. but someone brought that game over and we(my roommates and i, taking turns) beat the game and that game doesn’t seem as hard as i used to think it was.
On the subject of nes games… my favorite nes game hands down was river city ransom. That game fuxin rocked! By the way, they have this “76,000” games in one thingy at the mall that u can pick up for around 40ish bucks. The catch is that there aren’t 76,000 games… there aren’t even 100. I haven’t counted (my friend bought one and we used to play with it a bit) but I’m guessing there’s around 50 games but for every game title they put three letters after it and then they change those letters around and call it a different game. For example… Contra XYS and Contra ABE… There’s no difference whatsoever… but in their eyes it’s 2 diff games. Anyways, my point is that if you don’t have a nes, you can buy this thing and play the games that come with it… and you can also hook up any nes games you have to this thing and play it as well.
wow, 40 bucks??? I remember paying 5 bucks for a 200 in 1 cartridge that was dope cuz there were at least 80 unique games…but yeah, good stuff…my SPICA converter got messed up by my sister long time ago, so I haven’t been able to soak up that nostalgic goodness =\
The hardest games back then were TMNT 1 and Ghosts and Goblins. And Abadox without using codes. Man…we should throw an NES party or something, like back in the day where everyone would gather around to watch someone beat Mario or some game…haha…man, that used to be me!!! I was the platform master back in the day…
i’m down for the “NES party”…my roomates and i sort of do something like that…we try to find old ass games that we thought were really hard back in the days, and try to beat it together(taking turns after each death or whatnot)
of the ones that we actually beat were:
super ghost and ghouls
kid icarus
hmm…that’s it i think
and yes…TMNT1 = hard…fuck those electric seaweeds!!
friday the 13th is a fucking hard game too
so is platoon…fuck that game lol…it’s too hard…
If you want to find old NES games, check out eBay. Don’t go to those used game stores (Gamestop, Video Games Plus, etc.) because they charge three times as much as you would on eBay.
Anyway, my favorite NES game back then was “Flying Dragon: The Secret Scrolls”. Not many people caught on to this game, probably because the title wasn’t well known and seems a bit silly, but it was a mix of action (journey where you defeat monsters with punchs, kicks, and fireballs) and street fighting (a bunch of fighting techniques and some special techniques). By far the best part was the street fighting mode (you would fight in tournaments) and have 2 kinds of punches (high and middle), 3 kinds of kicks (high, middle, and low), 3 kinds of spinning kicks (junping, middle, and low), 2 special attacks (‘Hiryo-No-Ken’ [high-flying spinning kick] and ‘Cosmic Saucer’ [fireball], a counter throw, and defense for all, middle, and low attacks. Too bad it was only one player, but still I still enjoy going through it without continuing. The graphics for its time was actually pretty well, with full bodies and animation.
I’ve gotten to the last level in Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, but was almost out of lives at that point, and those stupid gargoyles piss me off. I also hate how the axe gets WORSE when you upgrade your armor.
Allen, when you say you beat it, do you mean you beat it twice and got the ending? If so , then Jesus Christ.
