Just wondering, does everyone here regularly watch sf vids? And if you do, do you turn the sound off (i.e. the background crowd noise for match vids)? I think most of the time I turn off the sound and turn some mp3s on in the background.
Nope, I like hearing the sounds of the game, buttons, and spectators.
actually the button sounds help me with a-groove combos.

It all depends on how far away the opponent is during the activation of the CC. If they are about sweep distance away when you hit them with the DP, you usually have to roll . Otherwise, you can get close either by using F+Fierce, hopkick, or short hurricane kick. Even if you are right next to them when you start the CC, you can only get three of any combination of the above moves before you have to do a roll to get closer. Just experiment.
