Two part post from me. First part is semi-serious. Second part is serious.
Part 1!: semi-serious
Good games to all yesterday. Props to Simon for improving and beating me during casuals. Heâs somewhat decent now, but needs to rely less supers and his wakeup games are the same every time: S©-2S -> D or Lust Shaker or if 2S connects super. Simon showed me how much priority Milliaâs j.S has though.
Congrats to Tanaka for taking first in XX. Those were some good games, even if you completely destroyed me that last game. I just canât stop the Force!
After we left the tournament we went to eat at top tier In-N-Out. And then we got in the car and left. And then there was the most hilarious conversation Iâve ever heard between Clifford and popo. I was laughing so hard my abs were aching and I was in tears. Dunno if anyone else would find this funny, but I feel itâs worth mentioning. I donât remember the exact words, but it went something like this⊠Keep in mind this is in the dark of the car so they canât see.
Popo: ??? Clifford, you took my [seatbelt] slot.
Clifford: Oh. Sorry. (unclips)
Popo: I canât find it. Guide my missle.
At this point I begin to laugh and just mention the innuendo popo just made, but I wasnât sure if thatâs what he meant or not
Clifford: I canât find the slot. Let me help you.
Popo: I still canât find it.
Clifford: Let me use two hands.
Popo: Not working.
Clifford: Youâre going too fast. Slow down.
Popo: Okay.
Clifford: Let me try one hand again.
Popo: Still canât find it.
Clifford: Youâre still going too fast. Try putting it in slowly.
Eventually Popo got his seatbelt in his slot, but at this point I was completely dying with laughter. That was the hardest Iâve laughed in my entire life. Top tier moment. Good job to Clifford for playing along and making that moment hilarious.
Part 2: serious
Keep in mind that this isnât a personal attack, but just my civilized opinion on what happened last night at the tournament. I am not trying to start shit on the boards either, but I believed this was an issue that should be addressed.
Jacob, I know youâre young and may not be as mature as others that attend the tournaments, but I believe your sportsmanship yesterday was uncalled for. Your actions were immature and unsportsman-like. Iâm sure you were excited or something, but just keep in mind your actions. When you were playing Clifford yesterday you made two comments that upset me because of the bad sportsmanship.
First, in a round you and Clifford were playing in, Clifford accidently did Milliaâs Winger super OTG, allowing you to kill him on its recovery time. Before you killed him, you said âThanks.â That bugged me and I thought it was immature of you to say that. Second, after you managed to beat Clifford you yelled âI caught all 150 pokemon!â. :bluu: That almost set me off, but I kept my composure.
Maybe Iâm the only one making a big deal out of this, and I do admit I may say stupid immature things as well. However, I just believe that you displayed unsportsman-like conduct last night with those two comments. Those comments donât really have a tournament. One could say those words are âmind gamesâ, but I call bullshit on that. These Davis tournaments are for fun and shouldnât be thought of as major tournaments. At least thatâs that the way I view it. Sure, I like to win just like everyone else does, but I just want to have fun playing there while I can.
The actions you displayed last night, Jacob, were not in good sport. I know you mean well when you go to these tournaments, but I have to request you try to not let your excitement get the best of you. Hopefully this will not be something that reoccures every tournament.
- Scott
First of all, Iâm sorry if I upset you and Cliff with my conduct last night, but please hear me out:
The comment about the whiffed super wasnât meant to intimidate Cliff or anything, I was just joking that he had me but the super had somehow come off. I feel that heâs a better player than me, so I said âthanksâ as a way to show that I just got lucky on a win.
The other comment was because I never placed top 4 before, not because I beat CliffâŠI gave Cliff a polite handshake and a sincere âgood gameâ after the fights were over. Realizing that I finnnally made top 4, I was pretty excited.
So please understand that Iâm not demeaning Cliffâs ability to play or anything, but Iâm happy that I can contend for top 4 now. Iâve been in last place for 4 weeks in a row-- if you were last place for a month straight and then had 3rd place, I think youâd be just a itty bitty immature too about the victory. :o
Also, playing GGXX 6 hours straight is not easy. By the time I was in the loserâs quarterfinals or whatnot, I was way tired, my legs were about to collapse from constant play, and my back ached from having to stand up all day. Being able to have fun with my game keeps me alert, and keeps my spirits high in enduring the night.
Sorry to anyone who thought I made an inappropiate comment to them during tourney play, but just rememberâŠJacobâs not making fun of you, heâs just an idiot.
Ah, wanted to add one more thing. Iâve never had the experience of being in a major tournament, so the Davis weeklys mean a lot to meâŠso while most people are just having fun in a tournament where itâs only a $1 entry fee, Iâm trying my hardest to prove myself as a competent XX player and to contend with the top people in Davis. Itâs the most I can do as a local gamer.
Scott, I respect you not only because youâre a better player, but because youâre more insightful about how things work in gameplay. I hope I can be on a clean slate with you and just try to have good games.
Itâs nothing personal. I just didnât like those little comments last night. You apologized and itâs the end of that now. Itâs done and over with. Iâm glad you admitted your errors and apologized for them. It shows character.
No hard feelings.
Shrek 2 is top tier.
Itâs even better when itâs Shrek 2 + friends + Bacardi.
YOU DIDNâT TALK ABOUT MVC2 OR GIRLS
No he did talk about them. Itâs implied in the âfriendsâ comment that he actually meant women.
Guilty Gear is getting out of hand.
There are more than 150 pokemonâŠ

Sunday after 4.
Yes, girls were implied in my previous post. Wow, you guys have narrowed me to an equation:
TheWholeFnShow = MvC2 + girls + programming + Kristin Kreuk
Anyways, MvC2 is addicting. Today, I skipped âdoing homework at the libraryâ to play MvC2 for an hour.
F_man: I didnât get to 25 wins. I lost at 19 wins, so iâll get your token back.
