TW's 2: @ the dojo, Seth Division: 07/17/10

I’m going to have to ask for a reschedule, I can’t afford the 20 bucks in gas right now

I hope things get worked out, what happened at BW anyways? We’re all pretty heavily invested in this, I’m sure I’m not the only one curious?

ur in seattle…$20?..gas is $3 a gallon…say you get 20 miles a gallon…that’s $6 dollars in gas…

You moved from Kent? $6 one way. $12 roundtrip. Fucking Light Rail needs to be everywhere yesterday.

nah still in kent unfortunately, the dojo is deeeep

light rail is the truth though, I rode it to downtown for the first time a couple weeks ago

Why did it take you so long?

Frank, did you get my facebook message? So would rescheduling be a possibility?

LOL. Didn’t the website also state the venue was BW? How about change the venue to Hong Kong. “Rules say no refunds”.

edit: I will get a ride this saturday with Mandelz and Brent.

is there anyone in the renton/ kent area that heads to the dojo? I normally get rides there and my transportation is fickle until after EVO.
i got gas $$. this would be my only issue with my TW matches, which i dont have for a week or so

Just saying, I am pretty sure the entree fees makes our arrangement for TW a contract, and changing the venue is DEFINITELY breaking that contract, I am pretty sure legally there is no way to just gank people’s entree fees if they want a refund.

But then again since no one is about to sue for 35-50 bucks, it’s not like anything is going to happen…I just really don’t like being told “rules say no refunds” when the rules said BEST WESTERN, especially when it’s not legal.

I just want to play. As a last resort, i will endeavor to find the buss route out there and hope to spend the night until Sunday.

Chill out People

Wow I never check this section of the forum, but you guys make me want to start playing again. Or just start actually since I haven’t played anything competitive in ages.

steev. coordinate with me for bus schedules. dojo can offer rides to and from bus stops. you just need to inform us about schedules ahead of time so cole and i can coordinate a pickup and drop off.

if you can BUS it to bellevue, redmond, issaquah, we can pick you up easily.

thanks alot. Im going to try to make it out tomorrow, the earlier the better and stay as long as possible. Is there any place in particular that i should look for a bus route to where you are ( a close mall/ transit station i dont know about?)

Those of you with little faith in Frank, or those that are worried about money that you KNEW was nonrefundable:

rules

[details=Spoiler]Entry Fees
Super Street Fighter IV: $70 per team/$35 per player
HD Remix: $50 per team/$25 per player
Tekken 6: $70 per team/$35 per player
Note: For every player’s entry fee per game, $10 will go towards logistical costs (labor, equipment, etc.). Final payout will be around 70%/20%/10% for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (respectively).

ALL ENTRY FEES ARE DUE BY YOUR FIRST MATCH
Any player who fails to pay on time is not allowed to participate in any matches until his team’s entree fee is paid in full
No refunds[/details]

This rule was in place for teams with bad records losing faith and just dropping out instead, but remains a concrete rule that was known when signing up for the league. Frank COULD just shut this shit down and take the remaining cash, (not that Frank would or could even do that to the Seattle scene he loves.) or he could be busting his ass daily making the calls needed and talking to the folks at the Dojo and the manager here at the bunker to ensure that Twars is still ongoing.

Have faith. Our season is in good hands, any doubting Frank and his commitment to our scene should be ashamed.

steev: BCC area is very good, issaquah, redmond, microsoft campus are all very good areas

Coolio. Thanks for the update on the TWars status and all, Frank. I tried to reply to the other thread but it wouldn’t let me. Hopefully TWars will be allowed back at BW soon. I kinda like that venue. Anyways, thanks for working on this stuff as much as you have been. I know everybody appreciates it!

lol, julian… I’m sure frank “just really doesn’t like” that the best western fucked his verbal agreement up but hey, welcome to life. Your post makes me incredulous.

Anyone who has a huge issue with the location should reschedule for the moment if they can’t make it out. Don’t jump immediately to pulling out and getting a refund, I’m sure Frank will figure something out.

Also, buses run constantly to the Eastgate, Redmond, and Overlake Park and Rides. If you can get there I am sure people will be willing to lend a hand and get you home. It’s only 15-20 minutes to any of these places from the Dojo, so it isn’t out of the realm of possibility. I live near Overlake P&R, but I am heading to Cole’s right now to work on getting the streaming setup.

I think a bigger issue is getting home from the dojo. To isn’t that big of a deal. Earlier start times are a must. And have been addressed, I believe.
