most of you have already been to the dojo so for most its not gonna be a problem.
when you park outside, dont clog up neighbors driveways.
PLEASE CARPOOL if you can.
Do not be loud outside when taking smoke breaks.
NO food or drinks in the living room. Keep all eats in the kitchen.
Can I please schedule a reschedule for my matches saturday then, because being a bus-warrior I would not have signed up for TW2 if I knew I had to go to freaking snohomish or wherever Cole lives. I didn’t even want to have to throw down that much on gas money should I be carpooling…this sucks balls for me.
edit: I don’t mean to say this as dumping on Frank or anything, but I am in a shitty situation until this is in a more central location.
I don’t agree with having a tournament every Saturday at a different place from TWs. The reason that TWs is so great is that it IS the place to be every Saturday in Seattle if you’re playing Street Fighter - NO DOUBT about it - that’s what makes it such an amazing experience in my opinion.
Instead of hosting tournaments at Gameclucks on TW night, why don’t we just have a tournament at the same place as TWs - be it Best Western or the Dojo. Let’s try not to fracture the community here.
^Man…GC is not the end all of tournaments…we also have Thursday night grill fights at the Dojo. I honestly do not enjoy driving 30+mins 1 way every time I want to go to a tournament. It’s nice to have a place relatively close to me as well I figure the dojo is a nice place for Seattle/Bellevue people. I enjoy GC because to me, I was sad it went away. GC is the first tournament I went to back when I was on pad. So how about ya’ll either A) Come up to the GC tourney B) Don’t. Either way I don’t give a fuck where you’re at or your preference. GC (and tony/riki) are setting up a place where we might have a consistent venue for tournaments .If you don’t like the venue, don’t come…there are plenty of people (including new people) who are more than happy to participate.
Also, The GC tourney isn’t necessarily on Twars night, I know my matches at Twars don’t start until 10 pm at the earliest. GC tourney…starts at 6pm ends probably around 8-9pm.
Hey Mikail, I didn’t agree with having a tournament every Saturday that minors couldn’t participate in, but guess what, I couldn’t participate and that’s how things went.
I’m encouragin people to go to GC’s this saturday for two reasons:
that event was already posted up once word got spread about the situation at BW (again which I honestly don’t think should’ve even happened w/o talking to me first)
With it being at the dojo, I’m really trying to keep the attendance down to a minimum in respect to their house.
Again this should be a temporary situation. I’m doing the best I can to figure out what to do.

it was posted because it said that tw wasnt goin on that sat particular saturday on the website. i dont know if this was due to the news that tw wont happen at bw or not though.
no guaranteed parking, stuff getting stolen, inconvenient as far as food goes, no fae/josh/jacob, where’s the equivalent of the tw big screen? when I played super there, there was hardly enough room to watch people on the cabinet.
I still plan on going to the dojo for TW, but pulling the no refunds card, specifically on players who cannot commit to the dojo, is bullshit.
frankdadank, at one point you were encouraging tekken players to sign up for SSFIV but on the same note, I noticed you cheering against me and JWO saying tekken players should stick to tekken? are you really all about the $$$? where’s the neutrality…
The amount of work/ stress is so much higher than what money there is that Frank’s integrity shouldn’t even begin to be up for debate.
A couple arguments against refunds would be:
Some thing needed to be purchased for TW(ie a camera to record matches) so 100% of the entries are not there, which means that if everyone wanted a refund it would not be possible.
Tournament Wars has already taken a huge blow, allowing refunds could possibly result in it’s demise, which im sure 97% of the scene does not want.
None of which matter though as it was clearly stated from the begining that there would be no refunds.
I have not participated in TW, so perhaps I’m missing some info. Clearly this move to a new location has inconvenienced a few people. However, to make the best of things, perhaps some people who are going anyway could offer to give rides to those who would otherwise need to drop out?
I don’t know if it’s possible, but if it is, it seems like it could save a lot of trouble for everyone. Again, I don’t really know what’s what here, but I hope it can all get worked out.
stay home dustin. you make it sound like its such a fucking hassle to come down.
last time, you complained about food, so i even went to the store and bought food for everyone last time you came over. it cost me over 30 dollars.
and you are gonna go onto srk and complain?
THEFT- 1 iphone from a grimy house guest. we havent had any thefts since then.
did any of your stuff get stolen? are your personal items at risk??? NO you dumbass.
whats wrong with you? why are you so angry? go fuck off nigga.
play your TW match and leave please.
I can understand why some people would want a refund, and JTS makes a really solid argument. But people should also understand that TW@Dojo is a temporary location. Frank is working to secure some form of venue so we don’t have to have TW@Dojo. I’m sure both Frank and the Dojo residents aren’t trying to have TW relocate there for a number of reasons (location, lack of space for spectators, etc). So instead of asking about a refund before even 1 round of TW away from BW, why don’t people try to exercise some other options first (rescheduling, carpooling, etc). If you really are trying to press for a refund, keep it in PMs or talk to Frank personally. We should all be happy that TW is still a possibility and people in the NW forums (mainly Seattle people) need to lighten up a bit and be positive for a change.
the entry fees MUST go up. if you feel like this, then we need to PROPERLY compensate the TW staff for their labor. dont get all cheap without lookin into how much FREE labor you are getting. scheduling, constanly answering questions from the community, camera work. youtube work.
how many hundreds of combined man hours have been spent on TW?
umm when I signed up it said no refunds…it didn’t say refunds if the venue change…or refunds if something is inconvenient…just plain no refunds. Shit happens people. I am surprised at the fickle attitude that people have. Like really? we are lucky to have a temp location thanks to the dojo. This shit is weak.
sigh…I didn’t say anything about the price being too high or too low. You can read into things all you want. And for what it’s worth, if the price did go up I would be fine with it. I was merely saying that if some people can’t make it out to sammamish, that should be considered. Why so confrontational all the time?
Regardless, I withdrew my earlier post because I realized that the dojo is not the permanent location and I knew some people would misinterpret it…
