do you guys think this U.S. version will make Karas mid or low tier, since the character who relied on pressure into infinite on a mistake now can’t infinite? I’m guessing that now, whoever plays the role as Karas partner (team-wise, not 2 single mains) will have a great impact on match outcome, less like before where u could pick karas and whoever and never have to touch the other character (unless it was tekka, usually only for killing time, and making openings for combos.
Karas is gonna stay high tier.
He hasn’t really lost any of his pressure. He can still wail on your guard all day. He just does less damage now but his solo combo ability hsa been buffed.
It’s not just Karas, but NOBODY has inifinites (that we know of) now, so if you take Karas’s new combo game and compare it to the rest of the cast, he still has it pretty good. Any character with such fast, safe, rangey normals can’t be so bad. And he still has all that other good bullshit like his dash through tricks, fast DPs and punishes, etc.
Grabbing is now much more useful, And Karas is the only character I know of who can combo throw to level 3. So this trick just got a lot more useful now that you can tick into throws.
since the slide can’t infinite, do you think it’s only use will be for pushing opponents into the corner?
also, will all these still be able to work as combos (since the game will be less marvel, infinites won’t be present)?

You can see what sort of stuff Karas does here.
he can now combo into his rekkas, and all thre hits will combo, ending in a wallbounce that lets him continue into corner jabs/launcher business. He can combo into chain and then pick up off the ground into rekkas and more. I don’t think people will even need to use his slide.
that was prety fuckin SICK. I think karas seems cooler now, even though i already liked him before. some characters need supers to look flashy, karas looks flashy at all times. that wallbounce move all the way onto the other side into sum more hits was awesome. when I first saw zero i was hyped [and i still am] buuuuuuuuuut I think I wanna blade/karas or karas/blade. speed, combos, deliciousness.
I’m gonna hit up a local store this weekend to try the game out. Last time I played was EVO, and somebody just told me the four buttons, and i just messed around with Ryu and someone else while getting raped. Still, it was where i gained interest in the game. Hopefully they have sticks. I’m gonna have to write down some combos from the strategy zone, and rewatch those keits guides before i go.
So, are they, or was it not checked?
I assume they are. Saki’s unblockable bullet hasn’t changed. It’s just been made a bit weaker in power.
Thank God. Talk about one of the best Supers ever.
Chun lightning legs infinite is probably still in.
Son of a--
I hope you’re wrong. She really doesn’t need that.
Proof or I don’t believe a damn thing. :annoy:
Yeah didn’t somebody play it and say they were out?
Chun lightning legs infinite was troll material, I would smile if the infinite still exists on UAS even though the producers said that all the known infinites were going to be removed.
I hope this is not the case and it was actually removed.
It was one of the earliest infinites to be discovered too. The first 3 I recall, and this was only weeks after release, were Karas, MegaMan and Chun-Li.
It was a weaker variation than the one used now, though. It was dashing jabs after lightning kicks.
I am almost sure the first three were all found by Americans and they were Chun-li, Voltt, and Batsu.
As I said I am almost sure it was those three in that order found by (Don’t quote me on this one now but I am pretty sure) Chun-li: Demon Hyo, Voltt: Chadddddd, Batsu: Also Demon Hyo.
I think the karas one was found at least 5 or 6 weeks after the game was released but I do not rembmer by who for the life of me. The other 3 were like first 5 days or so I do believe. They have taken all 4 of those out so far, along with the re-jump infinite for Doronjo.
I really think they left the flashy but hard/less damge infinite’s in the game. Like I am almost sure someone said that Chun-li’s rejump infinite is still in (at least 4 reps of it they could pull off, at evo I think.) but they also said LL infinite is out. Batsu’s fireball does not cause knock down so that one is out. I do not see why you would take out Ken’s or Jun’s but I also do not think anyone that can do those infinite’s has touched the game yet. Same with Yatterman-1’s and Voltt’s second infinite as these are the harder infinites in the game with an actual high degree of skill involved in doing them and setting them up from anywhere.
We will see if I am right. I really just hope they saw some of those infinites before the game was released (except Voltts second one, Japneese TvC sure is creative and crazy!!) and meant to leave them in as it would make good sense to the balance of the game in my eyes.
I mean stuff like Alex having no second jump but he also has a reset grab in air for like crazy damage with no bar and no baroque, when you add in Baroque and Stungun super it is easy 39-55% on all of the cast. I know they knew about that, they had to know about that, they took away his second jump for shits sake!!!
I thought breatol posted up the Chun infinite like a day or two after the game came out on his chun combo vid. Not sure about rock or Batsu, but w/e. It’s stupid to try and assign authorship to that shit anyways. If it was like, the game was out for a year or two, and then somebody did some groundbreaking shit, then fine, give them credit, but when you figure out some week 1 shit, chances are plenty of people are figuring that shit out at the same time anyways.
My point wasn’t who discovered it or what exact day or any of that (though you might be right it was Batsu, not Karas). I was just saying Chun-Li’s was the first ones to be known, and if the developers were deliberately making efforts to get rid of infinites, then they had to have known about this one. I see no excuse. And Chun-Li’s so strong already…
^ Very well could have been Breatol because I do not have a remy vid of the findings but instead the carry to corner with j.C, Jump Cancel IAD C, Jump Cancle IAD C. I can not see the first vid from chaddddd so I do not know who was given the credit for Chun’s because the video was taken down by him because of someone else findind it and posting it first, so he then put up the Voltt one.
Are infinite’s not ground breaking anymore, they change the whole game, and then most of them have been confirmed to be removed. How does not fit your definition of “Groundbreaking.”
Ah well who cares? Besides me anyway.
I thought this was one of the first things Kurasa said was gone? Because lightning legs pushes further back now.
Yo read the whole post. They were groundbreaking at the time, but the point is, they were found in the first week of the game being out, therefore they weren’t hard to find, and were most likely found by a bunch of people at around the same time in different variations.
