TVC US version character changes (to be updated)

Yeah, there’s alot of support for Samurai Pizza Cats in the Unity boards as well. As for Speed Racer, we’re not keeping our hopes up since we’re expecting whoever has the US rights to be the usual corporate douches and ask for lots of money.

since this thread is about character changes, and there’s some talk up there about possibilities of u.s. characters, I must ask here:

Would someone who goes on capcom unity and knows the most likely possibilities of who will be the new characters make some kind of poll thread just to see ‘WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MOST IN ULTIMATE ALL STARS FOR EACH SIDE?’ (one thread for both sides, of course, not one each)? I know I can do it, but I’m not sure of all who would be likely candidates…but so far, from what ppl mentioned, I’d be really interested any of the Samurai Pizza Cats and Dante/Nero. Also, I think yourmother said this: RE4 KRAUSER <-oh helllllllll yeah. anyone ever think about GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND???

^^^ll.nd brought up Godhand to me a month ago. I forgot how fun that game was. Haven’t gotten around to finishing it yet ;P.

+0:54: Ken was able to combo off of 623C to 623 Super easily midscreen
+2:21: Polymar comboed Lvl.3 super off of 5C WITH NO BAROQUE!!!

Didn’t see much new in: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gc-09-tatsunoko-vs/54565, except for Soki’s new combo potential, particularly off of 623B (based off of what I remember ll.nd’s EVO report, assuming 623A is same as the JPN version and 623C with the wallbounce).

+1:07: Yatterman combos 2C to 6C with ease.
We already know Soki gets two souls per hit during Onimusha mode in this US version. So many souls = get dramatic slash much faster!

For some reason I want Space Ace in this game. He’s Tatsunoko’s very first character. I’m sure that’s important.

I don’t think they take polls too seriously on capcom-unity whatsoever, plus, most of people there posting about character requests don’t get any attention, dunno why (most of them are just causal players, they don’t even discuss about deep gameplay stuff like in here). I would love geting some interesting characters in UAS as well (like Donovan Gene from God Hand, C.Viper from SFIV, Rad Spencer, among others), but it’s like they have so many possibilities about 2 new spots that it’s kind of useless. Honestly I just see them arguing who deserves as spot and who don’t, who needs redub and stuff like that, which is not even worth reading. As long as the new chars are cool enough for the game and don’t ruin it like Daimaoh’s glitches, whoever gets in, it’s ok for me.

I’ve been watching Karas videos from the UAS version and I find him actually better. I can uderstand Capcom taking out his only inf, I feel kind of sad about it (just cause according the current vids, Chun Li is the only one still having her jC inf heh), but his steel chain connecting after 5C and getting rekkas connecting on airbone characters is just too good (thinking about the possibilities you can get in your side with nice assists), it’s like you don’t need megacrush too much this time in order to get your combos working.

Karas still has throw into lvl.3 wich is an awesome reset, and again, about the inf thing, well yes it’s sad, but I barely miss it since most of the top players usually pick non slide infinite-able ones, and I can’t actually use it, just for taking them into the corner, but anyways.

I do hope the giants can still be inf by Karas haha:rofl:

What I do wish they keep is Survival mode the way it is, it’s my “real” arcade mode for training & getting used to new combos, since the original one is too short.

I also want Fokker in this game

Don’t forget this one! With this, it may be still be possible to land 236A/B -> BRQ to launch combos.

IMO, alot of the guys there are simply into the game since it has Tatsunoko characters, which really annoys those of us who are actual fighting fans. It’s probably only the fact that it’s Unity (which is moderated heavily) that keeps things from escalating into flame wars between those who appreciate, and point out the gameplay changes and those who could care less about the gameplay and keep complaining about character themes and the like.

And yes, C. Viper would be a nice addition, especially after I saw that [media=youtube]gzsuSl6jcfQ&feature=player_embedded"[/media] showing how she has alot of the same moves as Captain Commando.

From the video it looks like Cassern’s ground buttons got faster or push block is weaker…in the beginning during his attack string Soki push blocked but he barely even moved away and was still able to continue the string…if i remember correctly push block was stronger…u couldn’t safely do the whole string because some of the later buttons would wiff and allow casshern to be counter hit…could some one confirm if im right about this.

I hope push block is nerfed. I also hope that they allow you to give chip damage when the opponent push blocks a special.

But look @ 0:54… very interesting. Soki combos from wallbounce>5b>3c>5C!! The launcher doesn’t send the opponent very high at all. What could this mean?

My guess is that you’ll have to start using 41236A,B+C as Soki’s main launcher, or maybe combo into 623A or 623 Super?

Can we confirm that this is a soki-specific change? Maybe they’re breaking launchers on airborne characters in order to break megacrash combo loops. Just a thought.

I also noticed that after Souki hit Casshern with his charge blade super, Casshern was glowing a light blue for quite some time until he switched out. New effect to this attack maybe?

Thats interesting, because the other air combo I was having trouble with (tekkaman’s) also launches an airborn opponent. Perhaps you are right!

It may be character specific as well. I remember how strange it was to combo anything after Tekkaman’s 3C at EVO. However, I was still able to combo everything alright with Polymar charge b,f+C, dash, 5B, 3C…

Hmm, we’ll have to wait for the final revisions to really talk about it. Im sure sweeping changes were made after the evo build (PTX LOL!!!)
