TVC US version character changes (to be updated)

because guile needs his full payment, and its time for me to pick guile and dog everyone out. 2010 is the year of the guile. you put in charlie early in the vs series, and then by the time you put in guile, he obviously cant compete, so now is time to give guile his vs dues. america!!!

They also said Joe’s bomb assist is unblockable. But there’s no way to confirm if this is true.

If it is, can’t you imagine all the crazy zoning nonsense you could do with it? Blockstring in the corner + Joe bomb assist, take damage from the blast with opponent, megacrash, juggle, baroque etc.

No. You could always block and pushblock all versions of joe’s bomb.

In the japanese version, none of joe’s bombs are unblockable, including the assist. Are you sure that his bombs are unblockable in the latest build? Did anyone test this?

He did, but chances are he slipped up or didn’t really know what he was talking about, unless someone actually asked him. It sounded to me like he was just scrambling for information while giving that demonstration.

Both of those '?'s are actually positive changes. This means Ippatsuman now has runaway tactics similar to that of Ken with his respective 623+B/C series and Ippatsuman does NOT fall unsafely (think of how Ryu’s Shoryuken or Polymar’s Handou Sandan Geri fall unsafely, but Ken’s 623+B/C, he is free to air dash, JC, attack, special, or 623+2 attacks super!) and does not has to use baroque to fall safely.

The now comboable resets is actually a minus since the scaling is not reset. The only positive is that Ippatusman still has a reset (shown in the combo I tested out). So list as ‘-/+’

Lol, if I had not picked Tekkaman, I would have never known. I tried doing the combo RoyalFlush showed me, yet a bunch of fast lance pokes came out instead after j.c.

That first match (ryu/ryu) was clutch, but it shouldn’t have been. I seriously thought there was something wrong with the sticks when I was using Morrigan on that team.

Which resets combo now? The one I use is j.A, j.A, j.B, jump, j.A, j.B, 236+C, super.

Aside from the one I listed (ironically, it’s the same one I use in the current JPN TvC), combos ending with 623C still reset (I was catching people with two 623C’s, then going for 623 super reset @_@).

In your reset, if 236+C doesn’t hit, then it still might reset. I’ve been able to whiff with 236A (in the JPN version), but I found any whiffing with Ippatsuman’s 236A/B/C to be a bit unreliable, which was why I looked into finding other “whiff” resets a few months ago. When I tested j.A, j.A, j.B, j.B, 7 (JC), j.A, j.B, j.C (whiff), 623 Super in the current US TvC build, it looked like it hit like Polymar’s j.B, j.B, 360 super, yet it still combo’ed (while Polymar’s resets still worked fine).

I don’t remember 236+A/B/C ever whiffing (even B, but I mostly use C, so I may be wrong) when I did the combo, they all comboed and still worked like a reset anywhere outside of the corner. Then that means it won’t work anymore I guess =/

Was this stated by someone at Capcom or was it mentioned only by the G4 guy?

Yeah I was reading that, but couldn’t really tell if the G4 guy simply put the part in parenthesis about Speed Racer simply because he didn’t see Speed Racer in the list or if it really was mentioned that he wouldn’t be in the game.

Good deduction… I think the new characters will be to be the ones that had huge success and recognition not only in the U.S. but all over the American continent. For example, in Mexico Samurai Pizza Cats is an anime series lovely remembered by youngsters. Same case with Speed Racer, but I dunno how successful was in the U.S.?

However since this game is planned to be released here and for the Wii it’s for sure that this game is gonna cross the borders and Capcom knows this, so they have to chose a character recognizble for everyone.
