Agreed with Dev, this is slightly correct but far from correct. Personally Zero should not be top because he is good but he dies fast and does not deal enough damage out. Just my opinion. Zero does not give me major problems.
If Zero were God tier, more people would be raping face with him. Only ONE player is beasting with Zero right now. Just because he used Zero to win, that doesn’t make him broken. Sure there are other Zero players competing in tournaments, but none of them are consistently beating top players.
When everyone starts using Zero and winning tournaments with him, then he will be considered god tier.
Zero is not broken or god tier. He is a good character but not at top. Personally I think Zero will be dropping on the tier list only because his cross over dash can be punished because it is not invincible. His mix up game is good but not a threat. KnyghtFall speaks truth, Zero is not Magneto or Storm haha.
Zero is basically the SFIV Sagat of this game.

I believe Zero is good. He is probably High Tier with bad matchups against heavy damage dealers like Alex, Soki, and Giants.
I think Zero’s true potential comes from a partner with an assist that doesn’t hit an opponent off the ground or stagger them like Morrigan’s, Ryu’s, and Jun’s assist. These assists allows him to charge his buster through a combo while being able to do max damage in the corner. His easily combo-able lvl 3 doesnt hurt either as long as you have the gauge for it.
Its the pressure that gets people.
An interesting thought here: {Hadangeki -> Ryu Hadoken Assist -> Buster Shot -> Rekkoha (canceled) -> Shinku Hadoken} The projectile combo!!!
As for T.Blade and Soki, that use to be my team because Soki lends alot to T.Blade. Soki’s assist helps trap ppl in a shamishir combo for better damage away from walls, and Soki’s sword purifcation super will combo into all of T. Blades supers. Soki is just a really limited character, who can deal massive damage. I just dont see any good mindgames or mixups for him.
I’ve gotten similar results from Shoryu/AA assists with Zero. :V

Anyway after a long time of watching this game. Re thinking this and heres how I think the characters stack up. In order from who I think is the best in each teir.

Zero - Beast with just about every projectile assist or an assist that makes room for more combo ability
or cross ups. Hes pretty hard…

Jun The Swan - Combos that look like they never end. Nice rush down. Ok Damage
Ryu - Extremely solid. Nice rush down and combo ability. His assist makes him pretty much best partner.
TekkaMan Blade - With any1 without a good assist hes pretty unsafe. With the right assist hes really good… Projectile assist please. Also Nice ways to keep himself from getting punished without assist or baroques against short ranged characters mostly. Horrible assist for the most part.
Yatterman-1 - His pressure is just wow. Also has really good combo ability. Horrible assist for the most part.
Yatterman-2 - Her robot makes her extremely good. Without it shes not very great imo. Just Mediocre or middle classed as a character.
Doronjo - Screen control to the max. Really hard to beat. If she has a good assist its even harder to beat her. Mad good… Also some good health Good Damage. Shes just wow as a character all together.
PTX - The best against characters with no anti Giant moves. Some nice tricks against characters with Anti giant moves as well. Massive damage.
B
Chun Li - Lovely rush down and combo ability. Nice assist!
Saki - REALLY good keep away. You need to stay close to her to win all the time. Eh… assist. UNBLOCKABLE ATTACK on level 2 special. Makes for a realy good move.
Polimar - Nice Combo Ability and damage with the right assist. His assist is also Really good.
Mega Man Volnutt - Awesome keep away! REALLY GOOD COMBO ABILITY… Nice ways to keep himself from getting Punished without assist or baroques.
Joe The Condor - Good Fast rush down. Great combo ability. Nice ways to keep himself from getting punished without assist or baroques
Ippatsuman - Lovely combo ability and Rush down. Some ways to keep himself from getting punished without an assist or baroque.

Ken The Eagle - Great ways to keep himself from getting punished.
Karas - Good pokes. Good Rush down. Good combo ability. Just make sure you dont get hit…
Batsu - Amazing combo ability, but has some unsafe moves. Bad assist.
Alex - Amazing combos and damage. Has some unsafe moves and gets zoned easily without a good assist, but he has a good assist. He really is mostly about punishing. Its hard to hit with him.
Casshan - Damage off the charts with good combos. However. Horrible Range. REALLY horrible.
Veiwtiful Joe - Great damage and gimmicks. Can make combo breakers with his voomerang. Horrible Range…
Frank West - Alot of unsafe moves but his combo ability is off the charts. Get him a projectile assist.
Morrigan - Horrible combo ability. Nice Keep away with Soul Fist in the air. Nice Assist! But honestly Ryu is all Morrigan is and more.
D
Soki - Great Damage. Level 3 is beast. However extremely slow. Even his jab pokes can be unsafe. Best range on the game, but MAKE SURE IT HITS or you will get punished… A good way to keep yourself from getting punished is using the overhead with his super armor or using his counter attack.
Tekkaman - Great Damage. However extremely slow. Almost all of his moves are unsafe on ground. I think his saving graces is mostly his assist and his ability to fight of giants. Without it he would be a mini walking gold lightan.
Roll - Good on the ground character. However She obviously stacks up as the worst normal character being abused so much by long ranged characters with punishable moves. No way to Rush down from the air to star attacking. Low health. Can only really Attack from punishing with her fast ground strings. However her combos are hard to mega crash. Just anyway to beat a roll user that dosent use Tekkaman Or Tekkaman blade or Chun Li is Pick any giant. You surely almost have that match.

Gold Lightan - GREAT DAMAGE! Mostly good against ppl with no projectile or Anti giant moves. Otherwise hes just like roll. Gets abused in many ways.
The thing about this game is, other than maybe Frank, V. Joe and Lightan pretty much everyone hovers around the same level. It really comes down to specific match ups and assists because aside from the 3 I mentioned everyone is pretty even as far as individual tools go, everyone has their thing and that thing is always useful.
A-Ryu, Chun-Li, Megaman, Batsu, Soki, Saki, PTX-40A, Zero, Ken, Jun, Casshan, Karas, Yatterman-1, Ippatsuman, Blade, Yaterman-2
B-Alex, Morrigan, Roll, Polimar, Tekkaman (assist is his saving grace), Doronjo, Joe C
Frank is too slow and seems to take too much work to get to the same level as everyone else, so I would say if everyone else is A/B he’d be C.
V Joe has some interesting tools, but it’s really nothing other characters can’t do better all with better health and reach, I’d say C or D.
Lightan can be a very strong character, but his bad match ups are just soooo bad that he’s extremely unsafe to play blind, high D at the very best.
