TVC UAS Tier list speculation thread

This I can agree with. I haven’t played tvc competitively offline but I can agree that T.Blade is really good. I’m just not on any grounds to say that he (or any other character for that matter) is the best(or the worse) character in the game. I would need some serious high-level offline exposure to make that statement.

Well I don’t know about every tournament Blade player, but all the ones I’ve seen in videos have posted their opinions on Blade here already, and the consensus is: he’s very good but not top tier.

I’m not sure you can use their own performances as an argument against them.

Anyway, I think pretty much everything has been said about Blade, for now.

Also, I think Virally Yours hit the nail on the head with speed ultimately being the biggest factor. I can’t think of anything to add to it.

Yeah this is true. Yeah TB speed is good and bad at the same time. Personally I think Saki will end up being right in A tier with TB just because she has very little bad match ups and even the bad match ups she has she can deal with. Just wait in time until an official tier list comes out.

Bill: Whatever. That’s your opinion. I don’t feel like debating it anymore until I see more tournament results with T. Blade players coming up on top.

By the way, who helps makes an official tier list? Top players only?

Usually top players and Tournament results at big tournaments will help clarify a tier list. It is always not too accurate if certain characters are being under used sometimes. Usually with time and tournament results I would say they are at least 90% accurate.

My personnal Tier List (based mostly on normals, combo oportunities, flexibility during matches more than damage potential):

Try DP+A Baroque. with jumping B. And of course the natural IAD C from midscreen since Ippatsuman’s j.C reaches really far.

Although I agree with you on Ippatsuman’s weaknesses. He has trouble making people “open up.” Although if you apply his command normals effectively you can keep people guessing on when your blockstring is going to end. Tackle works great for this.

You’ve got to start worrying when you depend on your assist too much to cover your offense though.

Yeah. I tend to use that trick from time to time with all of the DP characters. Not so much that it becomes predictable, but enough that its a constant threat.

As a side not, completely unrealated to Ippatsu’s actual strengths/weaknesses…I hate that they’ve made his lvl 3 shorter! I used to combo into that thing all the time in CGoH (just for fun since the combo looks sweet), but now you get like 2 or 3 punches and its over! :lame: WTF mang!?

What exactly does Jun have that Ippatsuman doesn’t that takes her out of the “block lo to beat me” category?

RDP with A B or C all hit over head and I think the RDP super also hits overhead. I know it did in CGoH.

And

Pressure from Ippatsu is all about DP A after 2C or 6C. I mean you can block right after and you still have another jump for over heads or more runaway/safe attacks. His rush is only meh because his projectile is so good and his dp is godlike now. Rather than thinking about how to open them up think about how hard it is to really touch him if you know how to use him. Ground pound, DP, Rainballs, Bat super and grab super off dhc he really is that good.

A rain ball BBQ in psyco crusher into grab super looks cool to.

Amen Karuasa. I really think that was the best lvl3 in the game now I think it is the 3rd worst. They really killed that super for some reason…

He has no overhead specials or normals. You have to depend almost entirely on the dragon punch baroque trick or IAD C or B, but a lot of characters have that option so people will be watching out for it.

Jun has very long blockstrings with deceptive normals, some that look like they hit high when they don’t, a couple of delayed counters and a DP and a RDP that both hit overhead (along with a fakeout wire toss). If you land the A RDP (Dancing Swan) then you can keep comboing without Baroque. That’s one of several reasons why Jun is good in this game. I almost forgot to mention that she does have an overhead normal but it’s really easy to see coming since she feels the need to breakdance before she tries it, unlike Ken.

Not too mention Jun’s j.B has INSANE priority. It beats out just about everything. Literally…everything. But yeah, everything that Saetan and Nyoronoru just said is on point.

This. Oh my god, this. Jun’s j.B is the most obnoxious move in this game, with Zero’s 5A and Doronjo’s ass.

fixed, I switched one of my tean members to Jun for this sole reason.

Does anyone here even use Morrigan? How is she considered low-mid tier by so many of you?

I think Morrigan is Great Tier in this game. Capcom didn’t really take anything away from Morrigan other than her infinite, and they gave her a combo into her C which is a really great hit confirm. Now that she doesn’t have to worry about eternal Ryu juggles or Karas just snuffing out all of her options her mixups are a lot more powerful now. She also has a legitimate anti-air(actually two), and a second launcher. Her assist is sufficient enough to consider her a good team character as well, along with an invincible Crossover Counter. You’ve got to have quick hands to play Morrigan though. I practice every day and even I can’t do that dash-JC repetition more than 2-3 times in a row.

She’s weaker than some because she doesn’t have very damaging combos, her Level 1s are all but worthless and those are two big disadvantages in this game. The only time that someone would ever MC Morrigan combos is when she has three bars, so you’ve got to get to that plateau and force them to keep mega crashing out of fear.

To me she’s easily an A-tier character. She can be difficult to master, but she’s like Zero in that anyone can pick her up and do well off the bat. I think too many aren’t giving her due credit just because Zero’s 10x scrubbier.

I main roll/tekkaman and souki/tekkaman and wonder why you guys consider roll and souki lower tier. I could understand roll because or hp and reach but souki is a beast and I do pretty well with him at local tournaments.

I think Soki is Great tier in this game because of his reach and super-armor moves. You can use his bracing slam as an anti-air, and his jabs are unquestionably the best-ranged in the game. He also lays on killer damage without too much strenuous effort. If you have someone in a blockstring you can fake people into blocking high by using your overhead slam and baroquing before it even gets there, which counts as a mixup; but it sort of relies on baroque or an assist to be safe. Soki can also hit confirm with jabs without having to worry about repercussion since the range is so good.

Roll is good in this game but for weird reasons. The first is that her combos have to be mega crashed early before you’re stuck on the ground eating broom to the face or balls. The second weird reason is that she is really tiny and her hitbox when crouched causes a lot of moves to whiff against her. However she has trouble comboing from jumping attacks (has to rely on j.B, j.B and then st.A, which is actually much harder than it should be) crap for stamina, and is meter dependent; very meter dependent, both to do damage and to stay alive. Her sweep is godlike though. I really wish I had pro roll videos to look at. God damn.

I’m still wondering when someone is gonna hit the tourney scene hard with Frank. He seems to have a lot of potential and a ton of tools to work with, including re-launch combos, Zombie placement, a wonky very large ranged assist, and a great on-the-ground game. Oh, did I mention he has an inf?
