TvC: Tier List Speculation

Who are you again? And I did own JWong and D.Hyo. :/. Well I owned JWong for a bit and then he figured me out :< but that’s because he’s Justin… And even then we were trading streaks for like 2 hours and then he beat me like 9 straight and I stopped after that. We had it to the point where we just banned Karas and played the game without Karas for the rest of the night… It was more fun that way. Plus there are people who say the shit that I’m doing is legit and hard to beat. I guess me + like 4 other people are full of shit. And people say I start shit, why? People start shit with me. And this just proves it.

I’m much more of a top player than you’ll ever be. Just a FYI. I’m just cocky. Sorry =[.

EDIT:
-Karas should be banned imo. Full screen infinite?
-Should also ban Chun-Li. Full screen infinite?
-Everyone talks about wanting to see videos of this brokeness, but if they really haven’t seen it yet, and just speculating about the skill, why are they calling for a ban just because they read of stuff on the forums?
-Also if we banned Karas/Chun… Then Ryu/Batsu/Viewtiful Joe will be at the top. Might as well ban all of them too.
-About the video thing, I haven’t played in like 2 weeks because I’m back in Texas now, and well, no one had a camera the one night we were playing. I don’t really mind videos tbh. I like seeing people say I’m godlike <3. If I was saving anything, then I would’ve saved it and went to Sinsation and won it free, now that people know it, and are trying to x-copy it, I’m going to have problems. So I’m trying to help out the community and shed some light on this game.
-Props to my E.C homies, iloveu Joe, Eric V, Perfect Sin, Demon Hyo, Steve Harrison, Skisonic, Justin Wong, for making me what I am in TVC today… Well I figured it out on my own, but, I love you guys no homo.
-Everyone should just play SF4. TvC and BlazBlue are bad games. BlazBlue is a mash down+A friendly game… Wow that’s the same as TVC. And Melty Blood and Arcana. And look where all the games are at today. This game is going to turn into a small community game where no real top players care. I’m calling it now before it happens. SF4 is the only deep game that can go further than TVC/BB because TVC/BB are garbage. There was no thought process, they’re already working on TVC2 because they know this game is a joke.
-This post is not shit talk or not meant to offend anyone in any way, this is my opinion, if I was joking, I woulda made lots of lol’s.
-I’m only playing this game because it’s easy as fuck to win, but I do not enjoy it because there’s no thought process in my opinion.

Let’s stop talking about all this non-sense and get back on track here. This thread has gone into random shit talk long enough. I’m sure Keits wouldn’t like all of this. So I’ll start it off:

S+: Karas
A: Batsu/Chun/Ryu/Jun/Morrigan/Saki
B: Joe/Doronjo/Polymer/Megaman/Ippatsuman/Alex
C: Ken/Daimao/Casshern/Yatterman/Souki/Tekkaman/Roll
D: PTX/Lightan

What’s not to like on this tier list? Any opinions? Please tell me. I think we should also talk about Tier List Assists.

S: Projectile Assists / Chun-Li

I don’t know about anything else though.

How come you’ve put Casshern so low? Also Ken?

If it’s really a problem, we could just ban infinites. I agree with the game not being amazingly deep or anything but it’s still fun regardless.

Also I’m starting to agree with Batsu being right up there with the best. He’s like…just as solid as ryu but with free counters. Awesome runaway too. Tekkaman and Ken are like way too low but I guess you just haven’t fought any good ones.

Man…ban infinites…that would be just beautiful.

But, it will never happen, because ‘cool’ Marvelhead players would then just say “ban all combos” and eventually “ban all attacks”

And you know what’s an amazingly deep game? Gleam of Force. But nobody wants to so much as look as that >_> A game doesn’t need to be unfathomably deep to be competitive, surely.

No cos that would be stupid…

Food for thought: how about a rep limit on infinites you probably build enough meter to combo into super anyway for big ass damage.

That’d be hard to keep an eye on. You’d need an adjudicator and spectators for each match. But I like that idea.

It would be ideal (imo) since you build meter so fast when you combo your opponent. But its a case of whether or not it will work in practice as you have mentioned.

See man this is the kind of shit I like to hear. So you have some good ass tactics that a top level player can see and then find a way around, but it’s hard. That’s fine man but I’m sick of people claiming there is some completely unbeatable shit in this game that is totally impossible to get around. Can’t wait to see the vids man.

Oh and yeah no banning infinites.

Marn - that was actually a useful post for once.

Everyone - stop the ban talk. embrace the game for what it is or go play something else. its marvel. fullscreen infinites should have been expected.

This. I still have no idea HOW we got back onto the topic of banning characters.

Well I was hoping it wouldn’t be marvel, but I guess I’ll deal.

Just because it’s a Vs. game, doesn’t mean we have to treat it like every other Vs. game out there…

It’s not Marvel, it’s Tatsunoko. I never understood why Marvel players were so hesitant to ban stuff anyway. It would have made Marvel a lot better and a lot more attractive to play.

Oh well.

Everytime someone starts ranting about ban talk I die a little inside.

If Karas has some power to automatically beat everyone in the game for free, then I could see it. But I don’t think he’s ST Akuma bad, at least not at this point.

Making a game ‘more fun’ or ‘more better’ or ‘more attractive to play’ is NOT and NEVER will be the goal of competition. These things are not our job or place as competitive gamers. Our only job is to win and or try to be the best, and walk the path of self improvement.

The only sane path in the face of a broken game is to play a different one. Banning is never the answer. Subjectivity is the enemy of fair competition.

This feels, like, signature-worthy.

But what if you can make the game more fair and therefore more competitive by removing the broken elements?

Great quote! Hey Keits, wouldn’t you win more by focusing on some characters instead of random? j/k :woot:

If all you’re worried about is making the game “better,” there are no broken elements. Sure, if a game is just complete trash (and stays that way, which more often than not it really doesn’t in these sorts of situations), and you can “blame” that on one or two individual aspects of the game, then a ban becomes more of an option because you’re weighing that against just throwing the game out entirely. But certainly if you’re saying “oh but the game would be ‘more fun/better’ with/without XYZ,” that’s a completely awful reason to ban anything, in any competitive game.

I know that it’s never a good idea to ban anything because it might make the game more fun, but if there’s one obvious thing that’s preventing the game from being more competitive, then I don’t see why it shouldn’t be looked at seriously to be removed, to make the game more competitive (possibly more competitive than it is with those elements included)

For example, I’ve no problem with infinites in this game, but can you honestly say the game wouldn’t be better if it didn’t have them? Infinites are an imperfection and really shouldn’t be there in the first place. Sure we have megacrash, but considering how easily some characters can combo into infinites, it doesn’t do much to take off the sting.

I dunno. Anyway, this game is still playable. Karas’s inf.blockstring seems to be escapable. and Karas himself is possible to beat, even if it is hard. My only gripe now is the infinites and juggles on the giants.

You are confused.

‘Fair’ is the idea that we are ALL playing the SAME game with the SAME rules.

‘Fair’ is not the idea that every character can win, or that all things are created equal. Fighting games like these are always fair, because you have the same options at character selection as your opponent. The only unfair thing in TvC is 1p/2p Yatterman.

Get off this subject, please, its counter productive and goes against everything the fighting game community has learned in the last 15 years of competitive play.
