y so harsh.
Im gonna put some matches against krone maybe in the critique thread later today, i don’t know the viper matchup i need help.
Would any1 like to play a ft5 or somethin?
So after taking a long look at my gameplay the one thing I really lack is a solid anti-air game. I know duds go to anti airs but I was wondering if you guys have any tips on practicing anti airs? It also seems like if I do a cr MP at tip range or at a range where I’m trying to counter poke if someone jumps Dudley doesn’t recover fast enough to get a DP off, or any other anti air. So yeah, any tips on practicing would be great.
tears won’t happen again

So I’m making the tut with a PC that has 400MBs of HDD space left.
Recorded everything but but options when-after a MGB / duck striaght/ upper.
Tut is 8ish mins long more or less.
I dont actually SHOW blockstrings in the tut. I show what Dudley’s normals do on block / hit / counter hit, what you can use them for in blockstrings and how to pressure your opponent. (grab frame trap, overhead, s.HK )
I’m not making it much longer so what do you guys have problems with exactly in keeping pressure on?

Post ITT today and tomorrow becaues after I make the text and peice everything together I won’t be adding anything else.
TL;DR post what you have problems with in pressuring people.
basically every one of them + wake up, empty jump, mashed, yomi ultras. to be more specific mine goes like this.
focus+grab into whatever > backdash = focus backdash > special moves with super armor > reversals = command grabs > jabs/crouch techs = normal grabs.
I generally run into focus attacks more than anything, and fear reversals the least. My response is try to buffer crouch strong, backdash or jumping out of habit (which is what is killing me mostly haha) Backdashes aren’t so bad cause they get closer to the corner and if you call a EX SSB they start worrying about doing it so much. Jabs sometimes but I usually realize I left too big a gap in my buttons. SPDs, kinda, but I don’t get to fight grapplers not named Hakan lately so its hard to say.
I’m doing a Lv 1 Extras vid for Anti airs and pokes mainly (stronger anti focus)
BSnP won’t cover how to stop pressing buttons to bait uh reversals like DPs it will teach/show you how to

Option Selects will show how to beat focus backdash backdash when + on block (0 and “-” too) and armored moves.
You can grab like anybody out armored special moves, just gotta read it,look at the meter
After messing around with players and in training mode for this tut I found some advanced (gimmicky) options vs focus. when close enough.
f.LP xx any SSB will either

[]sway back avoid focus and hit/whiff (depends on focus, strength of ssb, and range)
* sway back avoid focus and hit them on whiff, backdash, out the air or on block

f.LP xx LP MGB works too sometimes but that start up.
f.LP MP Target comborange is short
Imma just release this vid tomrorow /tuesday since it’s like 15 mins long for no reason.
with this tut and what’s been mentioned I can see more things I need to put in OSs.
good thing I did OSs last instead of first.
If I did this order sooner tut woulda been finished
little things like hit confirming into MK duck straight meterless will play a big role in the OSs tut.
think about the lv 2 focus attack on block OSs.
Dud has OSs out the ass for when he’s those + on block situations.
i have trouble with getting jabbed
back dash
reversals
SPD
For me…Looking forward to OP’s!! excitied to tech up my Dudley…I think my Dudley is out dated and im lucky to have got this far with the basics.
Mostly getting jabbed and some long backdash which cr.lp, cr.lk+cr.mk OS won’t catch.
and by jab I include the crouch throw OS.

Let me know if there’s any typos or missing scenes and I’ll reupload.
I don’t mean by a mean to look down at your work on teaching Dudley, but this is more of frame data (with moving pictures), I feel there is nothing new here you can’t find in his frame data (minus some valuable tips as trade cr.hp).
Hate saying that, but this is taped frame data, no tut.
lol k
Some could be said about OSes, punish combos etc.
Nothing you couldn’t figure out for yourself by going into training mode…
You don’t realize that you’re just looking at this part of the tut by itself
You don’t realize that it ties in with the other vids/levels…
Some people are visual learners
Some people can’t read frame data
Some people don’t have the mindset for figuring this stuff out
Some people need tut
First, don’t play the game if you can’t read frame data (not specifically you). It is an integral part of the game just like knowing your combos or ranges.
As I see it, when you teach stuff, the raw data is known, and your goal is to demonstrate how to implement that data, or at least, teach how approach the subject. I wouldn’t say it’s pure raw data, as there are pointers of how some of the normals should be used. But emphasize more about pressure strings and their goal would allow people to understand better how to think when they come to create their own pressure strings.
There actually a lot of information of that kind in there, but mostly it’s hidden under the cover of frame data guide.
sure frame data helps, but i don’t think it’s essential to play this game or any other fighting games for that matter. as long as people know how to punish/implement their characters moves against other characters then i think it’s fine. apparently justin wong and other top level players don’t really study the frame datas/option selects and they do fine with their reactions/reads.
Learning to read frame data can be daunting to some people. Especially if they actually go on this site and get frame data from a thread that usually has horrible formatting. Thirtyfour got right to the chase and showed only startup, adv on block, adv on hit, and pushback (something you can’t find in frame data). If someone wants to go further into the frame data then they can go and look up the active/recovery/etc frames.
You are out of your mind if you think Justin Wong and other players of his caliber don’t study frame data. Sure they don’t know everything like what {Hakan (oiled) lvl 1 FA dash forward on block} is. But they know when to block and when to reversal, because they also study player tendencies. They are professional sandbaggers and will take whatever mental edge they can get over each other to get that win.
EDIT: Congrats Thirtyfour for getting front page on SRK.com
i’m sorry.
i submitted the tip, i take all credits.
