Nah you absolutely need to know your own frame data at the very least.

i feel like i didn’t express myself clearly so i’ll try again.

i don’t agree with this statement because to me that’s like saying someone shouldn’t play if they can’t plink/buffer/option-select/etc. it helps to know how to read and implement frame data, but it’s not a requirement to play fighting games. if i were to make an analogy out of it then it’ll be somewhere along the line like “don’t play music if you can’t read notes”. sure not being able to read frame data/notes might greatly limit those who play fighting games/music, but they can still play.

it would have been a different story if he phrased it in a way that being able to read frame data a requirement in high level plays, but even then i would still say it’s not an absolute decisive factor in fighting games. there are ways to work around with it. different players, different playstyles, different approaches to the game. these are just my thoughts.

yeah most competitive players know how to read and implement frame data. but how many of them do you think actually know in depth the frame data of characters they don’t main or play against frequently online/tournaments? i think it comes down to character matchup experience in this case.

yeah this is a given/recommended and will help tremendously but still not required to play the game if someone were to ask me if they’re eligible to play a game when they can’t into frame data.

anyway i have something more to add. to me having or developing “a good sense of gameplay” is the most important thing than all previously mentioned stuffs (frame data/plinking/etc). the term might be as vague as “footsies”, so take the meaning however it suits you.

If you just want to herp derp and mush buttons and call it playing the game be my guest. All this talking about developing “game sense” (what does that even means)? like an important goal, it on the same par as not learning combos and trying to come up with your own original combos. Unless you are 1 in a million prodigy you should invest quite some time in learning the basic before you try to re invent to wheel, or to that extend, developing gaming game sense of gameplay

both reported

talk in PM not here.

Did I post this here yet

Starting on OSs

What do you guys uh…

Want the most out of the OSs tut? Or which is most important in the OSs tut?

Meaty set ups?
Safe Jumps?
Anti Backdash Tech?
anti DP tech?
Cross up LK set ups?
whiff OSs for blockstrings and Oki?

Anti DP and Meaty set ups are the best in my opinion.

Anti DP and Cross up LK setups. Although I am not sure how practical Cross up LK will be but I find that the most interesting.

FFF Deejay. I’m tired of outplaying a dee jay the whole match then lose momentum and they start knee drop bs and it beats My aa’s. then all they do after is throw firebals and slide under and i can’t get in for shhhhh someone please help me with deejay matchup.

just that

Go to the DJ boards.
Ask for help there or for someone to play you.
lol tell them i sent you.

kk btw im uploading some matches vs latif later

nah upload vs someone unknown.
dont be that guy who uploads his 1 win vs known players when you can barely play vs random players.

you got cross up j.lk set ups? if you got those i might actually be kinda hype for this. i always just go for it on a prayer hoping it works (which it does sometimes) but idk exactly how to do it. i’ve done it vs rog, cody, and bison. also idk if you know how to do this but i was playing a friend offline and i managed to do cross up j.rh on his wake up (vs rufus). it was meaty cross up too but i have no idea how i got it to work the first time.

I’d like to see some anti backdash tech, especially if it’ll work against teleports.

“Anti backdash tech”
“if it’ll work against teleports”

yes, thats what I typed.

they travel different distances and have a different amount of frames, thus leading me to believe different options against different moves. don’t be an ass.

and if something someone posts leaves you thinking “???” or “wtf” instead of just reposting it, respond to it and let them know what your thinking.

tut.

i thought you switched to fei long.
