dictator’s charge moves are fine. its just compared to other charge characters, he has to charge for more frames. and with how the shoddy ST engine is to begin with, charge lengths can vary, especially depending on background you are on.
Heck I learn something new every day. Charge moves taking different times on different stages is whack. I assume it is because charge moves are based on frames and certain stages have different frame rates?
Are the charge problems only on the console versions (bad emulation?) of ST or are they also in the arcade version? I really don’t play ST enough to know what’s what. This kinda sucks for me since I play a lot of claw, lol.
Sooo who’s ready for Sunday? GGAC right? I hope everybody’s been practicing, well actually I just hope people show up ahah. I’ll be brining my digital camcorder regardless, so I hope we can get some good matches to represent Tucson on Youtube
Was also wondering if anybody had a tripod or some sort of stand I could use; I know Lake mentioned having one. It’s all good either way though, I’ll figure something out. So I’ll see you all on Sunday! (I hope)
@General Diamond: I’d love to show you some of the new stuff that will let you love Faust all over again. New Faust > Old Faust IMO
@Iseelba: at what time and where? I’d love to get some rounds in with anybody.
I got a tripod for my digital camcorder and will be recording either all of the GGAC or just the finals (Won’t be the greatest quality but there isn’t a AV jack I can use, I don’t think). As for 3s, Hawk wanted me to record it but I was in Phoenix that Sunday. I’ll post some links for videos when i get them up. Also, I don’t mind recording any other Tourneys/Causals on whatever game, just give me a date, and if its on a weekend give me two weeks advance notice lol. For Tucson!
I"ll do it if you want to stick to Tucson. I’ve built or modded about 10 sticks (not a lot compared to some guys up in PHX but at least I know what I’m doing). I’ve also sourced out the parts so I know where to get the best prices on Happ Competition buttons and Sanwa sticks. I haven’t used Happ Competition sticks since the first project I did but I can get whatever you want.
I’m not sure exactly what there is in the way of options in button/stick moddin…I’m mostly just worried about the stick (and a few stuck buttons). For some reason, it always takes me four or five tries just to get a successful quarter turn, but I’m not sure if the fault is mine or the hardware’s. What kind of factors would make it difficult for a stick to accept rotations? (I plugged the controller into my USB converter, and tried a QCF with “Show Input” active on MAME. It showed no trace of a :df:.)
I have a PS2-only version of the Pelican Real Arcade stick.
My home computer lacks internet, and my school computers lack AIM. I’ll have to wait a while to do anything, but I’ll be sure to leave a message whenever I can. :bgrin:
Thats a super easy stick to mod. I have one modded in my garage (its not my primary stick).
If its not showing diagonals, it could be a problem with the PCB, a problem with the ground, or a problem with the joystick. The easiest thing to do is just swap out the joystick with a better one (which would fix the ground problem if there was one). I probably have a Happ lying in a closet somewhere. Regardless, those buttons have to go. Happ Competitions will cost you $1.50 per button from a guy on ebay. A full set of eight is only $15 shipped. Here is the guys link…I’ve ordered from him on several occasions:
