I just want to say there are people out there with legitimate love for the games, the competition, and the community they share their time with.
The fighting game community may or may not be done for but it doesn’t matter as long as there are people out there with a love for competition the most important things about SRK will never die. Love, committment, sacrifice, competition and passion…all of these things were there before SRK and they will be there forever after SRK is dead and buried.
The people who think this way may seem like losers to you but the only thing seperating this from something like basketball is that basketball makes money and is more accepted. There is something about having love for the game and the people you play that game with that makes it special at least to some people… I mean there are people out there who spend 5 years of their lives travelling around competiting and probably be remembered as losers if at all. But so what? They at least have the courage to do what they want and do something they really enjoy. IMO there is nothing wrong with that. So to them I say “good luck” and try not to get TOO carried away.

I’ve been playing Street Fighter since SF2 waaaaay back when. I took the game seriously. I knew where to draw the line between taking it seriously in terms of talking shit to people and all that jazz.
Back then there were no “Empires” and no fucking stupid group affiliations. It was all about the East coast and the West coast. It was all about who was better on which side of the country. And then after that everyone was cool. Of course we had our game faces on while playing but we didn’t let it interfere with our personal lives.
The trashtalking was kept to a minimum. It was all fun and games. But now its just fucking gay. And I’m not saying that the people that play the game are losers. By no means. I’m a fucking loser then as well because I play the game. And I’ve been playing just as long as they have. I just don’t play in tournies because I don’t have the time. I just wanted to play in tournies to meet other SF players around the nation. But that failed.
You got people like Sanford who loses and starts bitching about how much he hates the game. He wins a little fucking tourney at CF and he bitches about he still hates the game. Then why play? Stay the hell away and go do something else.
