Blanka charged overhead buff is great because in the past i would use use it as a mixup after i do a knockdown so the fact i can now combo after Charge rock crusher is great but you are right about other characters having better overheads I wish blanka had a normal overhead and that can combo. his buffs are good if i can fadc after H ball or ex ball perhaps i can cancel into ultra 2.

• Recovery frames for the second hit of Rekkas (Light, Medium and Hard) have been changed. On block:
Light: -8
Medium: -10
Hard: -12
• Second hit Rekkas have less pushback now, so it’s easier to punish on block.
• For light and medium Rekka Kens, the second hit does half as much chip damage.
• Flame Kick’s damage has been revised.
Light: 120 -> 110 Medium: 140 -> 120 Hard: 160 -> 150 EX: 200 -> 190
• If you FADC a Flame Kick (any version) after the first hit, on block it is now -1.
• Hard Kick Chicken Wing’s damage has been revised. It is now 35+35+30 for a total of 100.
• They’ve modified the hitboxes of all Chicken Wings in a way that they’re less likely to cross-up (Translator’s note: but still possible). Apparently previously you could perform “half a loop combo” against certain characters by doing close standing MP -> EX Chicken Wing. That won’t be possible anymore.
• For both close standing and far standing LP, hitstun has been decreased by 1 frame. On hit it is now +5, so you can’t combo into certain moves now.
• Crouching MP’s damage has been reduced from 65 to 55.
• Damage for his overhead (Torward + MK) has been increased from 60 to 70.

logically I think it’ll push out too far. Also I think the hit vs. block on overhead is screwy iirc
Without knowing for sure, im just saying blanka might have some decent options after a blocked overhead. At least he wont be negative (i hope) since all his other moves that are +5 on hit are +2 on block. with +2 on black not too hard to walk forward a bit into kara throw distance to catch folks off guard, or just keep doing standing jab pressure.
maybe you can mixup charged rockcrusher and non charged on wake up!
so you do a meaty overhead after KD and combo and on the next wakeup you do a fast NON charged RC that wiffs and then throw/cr.short!

Oh, I haven’t been playing much ranked in AE, especially with Blanka I have like 4.5k BP with him and my PP has been around 3k, as opposed to 15k/4500+ in super. I also haven’t played much on stream recently, I think my last match on stream I got double perfected by OnlineTony.
I’ll grind him more I guess. I’ve been trying to find another character. A lot of my recent tournament problems have been character based. I want to make top 3 every tournament I go to, and I don’t think I can do that with Blanka if I’m going to have to fight guys like Tony to get there.
Fei changes are nice but we still gotta fight bad matchups. I really just want to get my hands on blanka to give a final verdict. Just randomly he’s about mid tier still. Weaker then he was in super. But better then he is now though.
Yeah I would agree with that. I think other characters moving around will have more to do with Blanka’s matches than what is done to him.
