I know Yun was already a challenge for blanka.
Actually Yun wasn’t bad.
In the top 10 or so characters I was more scared of Fei, Sagat, Ken, Yang, Makoto, Akuma, Seth and Cammy
all in all I’m surprised, how much capcom changed across the board!
I think 2012 is going to be a cool game!
jimmy still has BAAAAD matchups, but IMO it’s just not possible to really make each MU even!
I’m thinking about learning Hakan! he got a lot of buffs, so it wouldnt be a waste of time!
although I have to learn everything from the scratch (I suck with motion chars, especially grapplers)
Given the buffs to everyone surrounding him, I don’t really see Blanka moving up much in the tier list (though that’s not a huge deal). More importantly, I’m sort of scratching my head at the buffs they gave him–I feel like they’re sort of ignoring his weaknesses and not letting him excel at anything in particular. Some buffs to his normals or maybe a faster hop could make him damn competitive, but until I see 2012 Blanka in action, I get the impression that he’s not really going to be much more fun to play than in AE.
I still miss super hop
So they just released a few additional changes, for Cody, Guy, and Yang.
This gives me hope that there are still more changes for other characters.

Taku is the highest ranked Blanka in Japan. 12th highest overall BP.

So the official dev blog says EX has to be fadc to cause more damage afterwards? That’s a lot of meter and doesn’t do much but give Blanka some style points. After looking at all the other buffs characters got, I want ex up ball to knockdown, all up balls safe on hit and a quicker cr lk, cr lp, cl lp, cr lk, or cl mp. U2 AA hitbox widened just a little bit would be nice. That is all. Thank you.

I would think we would not want Taku taking part of loc tests because he will make Blanka look good, leading to possible nerfs or no additional buffs (assuming they will still make some changes).
Regarding the ball KD, wouldn’t it be nice it if was untechable? I’m sure there is no chance in hell of that happening though.
yeah we want coop in location tests, he’ll get stomped by anyone good.
Personally I’m interested to see what kinda setups work prior to soft knockdown at this new range. Sometimes I feel that setting up offence after an untechable knockdown feels less fluid, the attack almost gets more predictable. Most of my current setups are based on quickstand soft knockdowns. Nothing worse than someone not quick standing when I expect them to, feels like blanka gets caught with his shorts down.
thats why you use a setup that covers both the quickstand and the not quickstand.
If my electricity isn’t quickstood and I’ve already kara hopped forward, I get a safejump, I’ll make a post about that stuff sometime.
