Ok when you say it’s really really really good. I’m curious what you mean by that. It’s 25 frame startup which can be reacted to. Ryu, Fei long, Dudley are really really good those are super hard to react to. The only reason that I think it’s good is because it’s pretty safe on block, and if it ever lands you link ultra (not a hard hitco).

While i’m not doubting it’s improvement I kinda don’t think it’s as good as you’re making it out to be. It should be pretty reactable to block and it doesn’t have same hitbox of like ryu and fei who can just do it in strings. Anyway good buff but really really good i dunno.

I’m probably the only Blanka who has been using overhead consistently since super, but from my experience it is very rarely blocked because people are conditioned to just hold db vs. Blanka.

My point is though that you have a faster move with the exact same animation.

If people start standing up when they see it you can start setting up whiff rockcrusher to low as a mixup, which is hard to see and a bit of a mindfuck.

Overhead will probably get worse over time, but for the time being it’s going to lead to lots of damage, and it at least gives people the incentive to not just db and late tech vs. everything you do on a knockdown.

Yeah like i’m not doubting the buff. it is a great buff. Thankfully it is -1 on block making it a non risk. Especially against chars that don’t have good reversals. If you asked me if i would have a 25 frame startup overhead that links to ultra. Or a 18 frame overhead like fei long’s including it’s hitbox i would snatch fei longs and never look back and it’s not even close.

On the real though any buff for this char is a good thing. EX upball knocking down really makes me happy vs abel since i can do it and he can’t just ultra if he gets hit ;[

Rock Crusher can be a setup for karathrow, but you need to walk up a bit but not much.

This works fine with just a regular b.throw, dash.

I tested on all characters.

Overhead rock crusher ~ U1 works on all, except on standing Juri & Guile.

Does normal rockcrusher have better frame adv on hit and/or block or only overhead version?

Normal rock crusher seems to have the same frame advantage (+3), i can only link a standing jab and too far for a standing roundhouse so i guess, only overhead version (better hitstun & less pushback).

While it was late and i was losing my mind, I made very careful distinction between backthrow and immediately dashing, vs backthrow with a slight delay before dash.

If I immediately dashed after backthrow, the rh would be blockable as a crossup, whereas if I delayed it was unblockable.

Your mileage may vary, and i am old and senile, so take it fer what its worth.

I noticed though, that those two different unblockable timings vary throughout the cast., guile needs the immediate timing, balrog more delayed, viper doesnt fukin matter.

I cant remember which timing it was for rufus jump fp unblockable, but it seemed pretty leniant.

I didn’t saw anyone mention before but you can get a lvl2 focus after EX horizontal ball, I couldn’t get anything to hit afterwards tough

AA U2 seems to work on a focus crumple against Boxer all the time now (without the need to hop), but it still doesn’t work against Blanka

guys whatsup with that overhead to ultra 1, i cant get the hang of this, do you buffer the ultra while the overhead is still going or do you make the motion after the overhead. Im trying and trying but this aint working for me, someone please explain when you must hit the tripple punch button.

Hold back, press and hold mp… wait until you see the second hit; then do the normal U1 motion. It’s a tight ‘follow up’ type move. It’s a ‘link’ not a ‘cancel’, eg you wait until Blankas recovery animation finishes before you press 3xppp. You can do the fwd->back->fwd motion at the second hit of the overhead but wait until the move finishes before hitting 3xppp. You only have 2/60ths of a second to press 3xppp though. Have you done cr.mk -> Ultra1 yet in trials…? Same story, but 1/60th of a second more room to hit the 3xppp’s.

You have to press j.hk early. If he can block it then you’re doing it too late.

Ok i will try this again tomorrow, thx 4 explaining. The thing is i can do the 1frame link from cr mk with no problem. 1 out of 3 times it works for me so im stunned why i havent gotten the hang of this yet but ill keep trying.

Not sure if it was covered already but you can still cancel a HP ball into super, you just have to use the LP version of super instead. May only work in the corner.

Hey guys, i noticed something in training mode in both versions (SSFIV & AE 2012), Coward Crouch can be canceled more quickly in AE 2012 !! New hiden buff, i tested it a lot of time.

Played this last night after basically 6 months of not playing, slopfest.
Blanka seems decent, so weird knocking people down with balls. Have been people been landing oh to ultra much? I only got it a couple of times. I got lk mashed out of it most of the time, doing my meaties too late. I can deffo see myself landing it a lot with some more practice though, im even forgetting I have it in matches at the min.
The game is still as dry as ever though.
