Translated AE2012 Blanka changes

Overhead -> ultra is going to be scary.

HP Ball xx Super don’t works & nothing after the HP Ball to land… and no changes for the normal rock crusher, i’m sad.

i didn’t expect any changes to normal rock crusher. It’s more or less a bait move. cr.hk after fadc sounds pretty sweet actually, if only for the easy setups that follow it. We can finally combo into sweep outside of counterhits/meaties. It just… costs 3 bars haha.

also, meaty overhead into sweep/ultra. Lets go. haha.

I don’t think ex ball fadc combos sound worth it. 3 ex up balls sounds like a much better way to spend meter IMO

Im going to hold my breathe on the ex ball combos. Blanka can build meter mad fast, and 3 bars for one more knockdown setup actually dont sound too bad.

Though its going to be extremely character specific, i.e., I wouldnt bother against people with good uppercuts, or where i feel ex upball is required to have at all times. but i certainly see times where it could be useful. I definitely see it as hopefully useful against bison and balrog, and most other charge characters who dont jump at blanka too much, or where blankas ex moves are just not that useful. I like low rh combo finisher, but I’m hoping there is something more damaging and interesting that hasnt come out yet.

They will be situationally useful. Good for closing rounds if you are making a comeback.

j.hk, st.mp, cr.mk xx EX horiball FADC can lead to a 400 damage combo. Blanka can’t normally do 400 damage, and he normally can’t combo to hard knockdowns outside of super/ultra. This is really really important.

I would have preferred more hitstun to the juggle obviously but it was obvious that letting him combo into crumples would have been far too powerful.

I’m already fadcing electricity to keep offensive momentum and get a safejump, and extra bar to do more damage and get a better mixup is worth it to me.

Sidenote: net meter loss isn’t actually that bad on a full combo.

J.hk, st.mp, cr.mk xx ex ball FADC sweep is
60+40+32+ -750 +30 meter

588 meter is only 2 1/3’s bar. Assuming you use the followup to land a very simple safejump string of

j.hk, st.lp xx electricity, cr.mk xx lp ball(true blockstring)
30+10+30+20+45 = 135

You are now only out 433 meter, which is 1 3/4s bars, totally worth 400 damage imo, and this is just what happens if they block and you don’t try to mixup. If you started with 3 bars you will exit the situation with one, which isn’t bad.

Character specific if it’s a safeball. It’s a “safer” ball, but won’t normally get you max range.

Don’t know about as a crossup, some characters get pushed really far away when you crossup, cr.mk might whiff or the cr.mk xx ball might not be a true blockstring.

I don’t really worry about safeballs anymore based on specific setups, I just do stuff on feel and it works. Thats probably a bad mentality as I am mr.setup and meth, but safeballs have too many variables in terms of spacing, when you hit buttons, etc.

Wait, so what’s the frame data on charged rock crusher now? It’s plus less if they’re crouching, right?

AE is +2 on crouching +4 on standing
2012 is +5 on both allegedly

It’s hard to get the cpu to be crouching…

I do notice that standing vs crouching … crouching pushes the opponent further out… a bit… so that LP xx HP Ball doesn’t knock down…

but at the very least it’s +3…

i’ll see if I can get c.MK to connect on a crouching CPU to see if it’s +5 and not just +3

maybe my timing is bad:
couldnt get the HK unblockable vs boxer…

LP is pretty strange vs boxer:
if you block it normal it hits and blanka is on the other side
if you block it crossup it wiffs and you blank on the other side

have we been always able to cancle cr.MP annd cr.HP to super? because I can do it now and not sure if its new or me just finding something we always had

and ex up ball knock down is pretty sexy

crMP into super was posted by me about a year ago - never saw it mentioned anywhere - hence, it’s the bendermac claw :smiley:
crHP into super was possible since vanilla.

Don’t have time to test more stuff now, but can someone check j.hk, cr.mk, st.lp xx ex ball fadc :

-> cr.mk xx hop (ambiguous? frame advantage? differences if performed in the corner?)
-> cr.mk, U1 (ambiguous? Don’t think so but it’s worth a try, especially in the corner)
