The Megatron robot mode in this looks better than the original release imo.
It would be great to have that Megatron, but the over use of red keeps me from getting it. It would also be the 3rd time Classics Prime mold in the collection. They should have went for a Henkei color scheme for Megatron and the Cloud for Prime.

So I have had Fortress Maximus for a few days now. Even at 1/3 of the retail price, I still donāt feel like it is worth the price I paid for it.
In some ways,I think the g1 toy is better.
IMO the city mode, the gimmicks ,and all the built in weapons are better from what Iāve seen.
The TR max is a cool,detailed,articulated robot which is cool for display.
I guess this is more for the little ones than collectors.
You hit the nail directly on the head. This is one time where mold reuse was not warranted and the G1 toy does a better job. The ātransformationā is literally just performing a split.
The Robot mode is pretty solid, but at its size it still seems lacking. Itās the first time in a veeeeeeeeeeeeery long time I have been underwhelmed with a TF purchase.
Part of me is tempted to buy the Kabaya Fort Max kit lol
50 bucks , a working Voyager toy with master sword, and you get the fun of making a model kit.
I think Fort Max looks a lot cooler and more impressive/sculpted than Metroplex did.
That giant Metroplex looked kinda stupid, with strange proportions in some areas.
I totally agree with you. However Metroplex has a more distinct look between modes.
Sorry, but i thought that Metroplex was a big piece of crap, with only itās sheer size going for it.
Even the headsculpt looked funny. Fort Max was a huge improvement.
