Titan Force SDCC Set. Havenāt cracked them open yet since they just got in. Personally I like the more mint colored Brainstorm. Unless I just randomly go into Walgreenās and itās just sitting out, this will work for me.
Yeah, that sucks. I guess with how terrible this series is, you limit exposure by putting it on a media that no one will ever use.
Played with the set on my break.
Sentinel Prime - I prefer this deco more than the retail release. As a Transformer, there is a trick or two, but basically you either lay him chest down, or perform the most bad ass split ever. Seeing that this will be Astrotrain, itās definitely a solid mold. I like it, but nothing to run after, especially if you are getting Astrotrain. Will say that I am really glad that Astrotrain will be done proper.
Brainstorm - The main reason why I got this set. For my tick marks, itās the best of all versions. More comic inspired deco and the HM has the face plate. Like I said in the previous post, unless I see it on a Walgreenās shelf because I have to get cold medicine, I am more than happy with it. The retooled arms and thrusters do make it feel more like a separate character.
Windblade - Yeah. . . . . despite all of the hate for the original, I just donāt really care for the RID version -in comparison to the Generations version. Itās sturdier, but the CHUG release seems to embody the character better. The uninspiring color scheme doesnāt help much. The Combiner Hunters version (SDCC 2015) works best IMO.
Who should buy this:
You are interested in Sentinel Prime, but havenāt bought it yet and you want Brainstorm without the risk of paying scalper prices, or
MUST OWN ALL BRAINSTORMS
Is it worth $75 - Only if you are in the category above
Now if youāll excuse me, Iām gonna get my listing ready to sell that Windblade figure.
I donāt even need to watch that since I own Sentinel Prim. Itās a solid figure. Astrotrain is gonna be awesome, and you can see it in its mold mate.
Titans Return has to be the most balanced wave of releases for Transformers yet. They are actually doing sets that allow for a good vs evil match up. I really like the figures in comparison to CW. While simple, the variance between them hits all the right notes. I own all the deluxes and voyagers. All are solid purchases, but if I were to rank the six, it would be:
Hardhead
Galvatron
Skullsmasher
Brainstorm/ Blurr
Sentinel Prime - Would be 2 if it wasnāt so obviously Astrotrain.
Octane
Blitzwing
Cosmos (not sure if just a rerelease or a new mold)
Seaspray
Ramhorn (not a Legends figure)
Titanmaster Optimus Prime - Headmaster only
Why did HasTakTomy finally get things right but had to make everyone Headmaster?
I agree with you, but the JP art spoils the movie. However, if someone doesnāt know what it do by now, then they need to go back under the rock they came from.
BKA -Not buying shit (3P) till we know what that is
I was on the fence with selling Apollyon as the Maketoys release (outside of the head) has done a much better job. If this actually is Takara, this will be awesome!
The angry face looks KO to me. I would think that branding people would be very against that, but ā maybe that is the revamped Megatron weāve been waiting for. hopes
First pic shows what look like 2 additional face plates at the bottom, so shrug.
Looks good, but Iām keeping my Apollyon. I have no intention or desire to change out my MP figures every time something slightly better looking comes out. Only exception might be FT Grinder whenever that drops, but Iād still keep my OG Grimlock around for the dino mode.
Apollyon is not without flaws but does a pretty god job on a shelf. I was only considering the Maketoys version because it seemed to be a better figure and the likelihood of TakTomy pulling a Megatron V2 was a shot in the dark. . . . until now. Iāll hold on to it, and then make a decision. I agree that it doesnāt make much sense to switch this stuff out for each release. I can only imagine what it looks like for those folks that got into Devastator.
So this is (officially) happening
Iām in for it. . . . ā¦ if the price is right. If itās the same cost as the Evangelion version, they can keep it.
What about DX9ās Supreme Leader release? He looks like a more solid figure than Apollyon. Not as difficult to transform, better quality control and, looks a little better too.
Only gripe i can find is he does not seem to include the extra add-on gunmode parts.
Thatās not the only gripe. There is a reason you donāt see any images of the rear side of the figure. Itās a solid build no doubt, but having the whole trigger assembly just chilling on the back is terrible.
