Agreed. Anyone who actually reads comics knows that Iron Man was not hot until RDJ made Tony Stark a real person.
About Optimus though, I have said a number of times that I want Optimus Prime to actually not be the leader, but a side character. He’s present (as in part of the universe), but not the center point. Kinda like he is a guest star. With the Con : Bot ratio, the movie line has made it EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMELY one sided. Lets do a head count of the mainline figures (not store exclusive repaints, or beast rider, mashup, or one step shiteformer)

Think I’m gonna skip the line, their targeting younger kids plus the toys are a bit smaller than usual. No problem with that seeing how we had a good solid 5 years of toys aimed at the older crowd.
Strongarm looks good. Optimus is an easy pass. I agree with you @Lord_Raptor, the targeting of the younger group is surely what they are going for here. Sideswipe looks to be interesting, but that’s about it. The Generations line is for us, so I think we’ll be ok.

I agree. When they first announced that they were reissuing MP05 I was thinking, “…because NOBODY asked for it!”. But seeing as how he’s gold, it makes sense as a commemorative edition.
Now see, that episode actually had a pretty good story. After all is said and done in that one, here was the clincher.
