I wonder how retailers are handling issues with MP-09. Clearly its a manufacturing problem, so are they allowing for returns/ exchanges?
@Cracka J - Let us know, cause I really do want this figure, I just don’t want to pay $200 for a plastic box accessory that I’ll never use.
I’m only really interested in the Takara version for the trailer, despite liking Hot Rod better than Rodimus Prime. I may just wait until the US release, but I’ll wait to see if anyone is willing to sell their Japanese one at a lower cost.
I’ll def wait for the U.S. version. Not paying $200 and I won’t be able to transform him into Winnebago mode once without damaging it.
I’m not counting on them to do it, but I hope they fix the QC issues. I’d be more than happy to pick up one then.
I’ve never attempted to transform my MP Megs. I think it’s because I’m intimidated by it’s very complex transformation process. And it would only result in having an oversized Walther P38, which I suspect would be kind of goofy to witness. Not worth the effort for me.
I would love to pick up the Takara MP Rodimus, but I’m not that excited about the trailer.
Recently acquired the Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar. Kind of disappointed that the red parts in early shots were replaced with brown. I knew that they were changed beforehand, but I still miss it. Makes me want the Takara version, and just have him ride RTS WreckGar as a bike.
Also got RTS Perceptor, and I think he’s awesome. But he’s very back-heavy in bot mode, so he’s easily prone to falling backwards unless posed with a slight hunch.

a local guy on our tfw boards won one of the tfsource raffled shadow scyther sets. pretty cool considering I think he missed out on the initial pre-order…and with all the bs that was going on I don’t think he ever expected to be getting one @ retail 95 bucks. pretty sick considering it’s going for over 350 now on evilbay
TF Source really fucked up their reputation with all that. I honestly don’t have much good to say about them anyway. I have seen them pull outright dick moves at BotCon 2 years in a row. Once was with me and another with my friend when we were in the dealer room. They sold my friend a figure and mistakenly sold it for $10 less than its cost. We didn’t know at the time. We walked away and about 5 minutes later, this girl from their shop tracks him down and wants the $5 or she’ll get security involved. True story.
He just walked out and came back after lunch.
Yeah I followed that whole thread and the situation was pretty fucked up. I guess it’s good that they ended up doing the right thing and raffling the remaining sets, but it still leaves a very salty taste in everyone’s mouth.
I personally have only ordered 1 thing from them because bbts was out of stock, and I got the item pretty promptly. Most of the other local chicago dudes account for pretty good experiences as well. But a dick move is a dick move and they’ll no doubt lose some business over this when bbts is a very strong viable alternative.

I took part of my lunch break to open up Rodimus at work (since tonight is my 2 year wedding aniversery…so probably a busy night between dinner and well, getting busy).
Rodimus is ok out of the box. No outlandish defects, one tiny paint fuck up on the spoiler. Both faces, matching hands pipes, feet, etc. All is good, even the loose parts aren’t so loose and I can see where people may be mishandling them already.
I’ll get back to you all when I know more.

loool, they really where bitchmade. i couldn’t stand hot rod/imus as a character (also not my cup of tea in the design department.) if you add macross 2’s crybaby you’ll have team bitchmade complete.

Don’t be intimidated. The only thing you should be careful of is the waist. There’s a thin plastic folding joint that connects his lower abdomen to his torso in alt mode that feels a little flimsy but the rest of MP Megatron is pretty solid.

I had some pretty high hopes for that one too. Voyager Megs and Shockwave are the only ones that really caught my eye. Is this ultimate Prime supposed to be leader class size? It looks like a voyager. Really not digging the bug wings
that thing looks more like a star wars enemies robot than a tf figure. shit, it makes the old one look good and that one was ugly to begin with. i wouldnt mind a mp grim or tfp devy though. and for a robot i normally didnt even like hot rod mp is looking pretty damn nice. nothing for me though.
