Kind of. It’s essentially $300 + about $200 for show add-ons. You end up with around 10-15 figures for $500 or less. You also get into the convention for that price. It’s bad, but only at first glance. The break down of it all is pretty decent.
The issue is the travel and room out to Cali this year. I can usually swing all that, but with not being excited about the set, it’s kind of more fun to go on a vaction or something.
I would like to attend Botcon at least once in my lifetime. Same with Evo. My problem is that I wouldn’t feel comfortable going on a trip of that magnitude unless I had someone else there that shares their enthusiasm with me. None of my friends are into Transformers.
Also, I canned my order for MP Rodimus. I think I’m going to wait until next week when I hear some more feedback. People are having QC issues out of the ass right now. In the meantime, I’m going to use the money to get Protector and wait for my United Tracks to arrive to ship it out.
I have the same issue, for the most part. My younger brother, who is into TFs, is not as much of a die hard as I am. A convention dedicated to it may be TF Overload
Really that blows about MP-09. Well, I guess I’ll wait for the American release. I just want the figure, I won’t miss the Trailer.
It’s ok. I am not crazy about Optimus voice though. He seems waaaaay to stiff.
It may just be qc on a few of the early mp-09’s too. I’m not overly concerned with it.
If worse comes to worse, I can just display japanese version in alt mode and us version in robot mode.
Still it’s not enough to put me off of the figure. He looks great so far so I’ll reserve judgment until I have mine in my hands next week.
dont know if yall seen it yet. i think the guy who made it messed the upper torso size up a lil bit. i think the upper body is probably noticibly bigger than what this guy thinks.
There’s a thread there going over a few people’s problems with Rodimus, but there’s just as many, if not more people saying he’s fine. Also, one of the people doing the most negative reaction stuff to Rodimus is taking it all back after a day or so of having him.
Where MP figures are concerned, expect that the ham-handed people are going to f’ theirs up and wait for widespread reports. You should have seen the morons breaking Megatron Day 1. That was fun.
Hey now I handled my mp megs with care and those 2 goddamn handle tabs still break off.
Probably the worst case scenario with QC on a mp figure, and I still love the guy. I still don’t get why they chose to place all the structural pressure of the handle/grip transformation on those tiny 2 tabs.
And yeah, people overreact over everything. Apparently it was an issue where mp-09’s gun wouldn’t grasp properly in his hand and some others were reporting scraped/damage paint after trailer transformations. But whatever, still a very highly anticipated toy for me and even if those little things exist I’ll try to find a workaround or something for them. Unless something is truly damaged on him, he’s not going back to bbts.
of course not and if something seriously ends up fubar’d on yours you have all the right to return it.
I’m more commenting about overreaction on the people who don’t even own the toy yet and are already yelling that the sky is falling. Just wait til you own the thing, and if issues are present you can make the choice to keep or return it. No amount of internet nerd rage is going to change anything until you have the product in your hands to review, but some people on those forums see smoke and drive their oil tankers into the thread to blow things out of proportion.
I know, I was just pullin your leg. People ride the wave of social acceptance. If you gotta be the odd man out, hang that shit up. I think MP-09 is truly the best MP figure so far. I just don’t think that the Trailer is enough reason for me to go H.A.M. on a couple Benjamins (at the moment). I got other TF stuff to get
I may have to get the Targetroid set. I really wish they did them as singles. TFClub has to come off that combo pack BS.
