guess it’s personal opinion with united vs generations…I read a few reviews of drift too where people said they heavily favored generations paint apps over united.
I do still want united megatron though cuz I missed out on the henkei one.
It is personal preference. I’m cool with my RTS Jazz. I took care of some of the missing paint apps on mine (chrome rims, exhaust pipes, red tail lights, blue rear window). United Drift doesn’t really interest me as I’m better off with just the Generations version IMO. I only buy into Japanese releases if the paint apps are significantly different and/or superior to the American ones (Henkei Hound).
I suppose…but in the instance where Drift is concerned, I’m not sure how that could be the case.
The United version has more paint aps and where they are the same as the Generations version, they are richer in color. For instance the Generations version uses a orange tinted red for the car markings. The United version is the red that’s on the Japanese flag. The details under the clear portion of the United chest are painted too.
The Generations figure uses a eggshell or off-white color on the plastic. It’s almost a very small bit pre-yellowed. Put it next to bleached white paper and you’ll see. The United version is a crisp white.
I don’t think Drift is a character most people are going to be willing to pay for the better version on, but I don’t think that there’s anything at all better about the Generations version. It’s simply not as good.
Related note: Anyone want to buy a Generations Drift? Super cool toy…$8+ shipping.
I want to get the United versions of Jazz, Tracks, and Wheeljack. I had to trim back on Jazz’s preorder (because of some unexpected expenses) but the ones for Tracks and Wheeljack still stand.

I’m not digging anything dotm related besides megs. If we get a leader megs I’ll be happy and done with the dotm line. If not, I’m likely passing on everything dotm related. Energon/alt shockblast are much better representations of shockwave’s character, imo. People in our local thread were joking that he looks like a rock lord…he kinda does 
I love Buggy. “Dreads” looks pretty cool too. He kind of reminds me of the hybrid stuff we’ve gotten in the NEST and HFTD lines.
I am actually with both of you guys. The Dunebug thingy is pretty solid looking. The “Dreads”, while quite frightening, still look like Robots with a Disguise. Again, I still need someone to tell me why the hell do they have 4 eyes though? I feel that Shockwave will look better once we get a better lighting in a pic. So far, most of what I have seen is an easy pass. I am not a Megatron collector, so that kinda rules him out (he is the best figure of the line IMO). Comparing Battle Blades Prime to the DOTM Voyager, Prime has taken 10 steps back . From what I have been reading, a lot of buyers have complained and stated that ROTF line was far too difficult to Transform. I have to say that I somewhat agree, as it took me about 5 minutes to “remember” how to transform Leader Prime back to vehicle mode (It’s been on a shelf in Robot mode for about 5 Months and the arms are a bitch :lol:). However, the line did also have some of the best representations of the movie line figures. That Voyager thing is getting passed up for sure. I hope for a Leader Class figure that may be able to add more play value but not be a step in the wrong direction for detail. If they change it, it’s going to be REAAAAAAAALLY hard to top ROTF Leader Prime.
Let’s just hope for Buster Prime!

I dig the DOTM Ironhide toy. Definately wanting to pick that one up, as I havent’ gotten a movie 'hide yet.
I really don’t care either way. I feel like I got proper toy incarnations of the movie characters through the rotf line…well at least leader prime, jetfire, starscream, costco bops bb, and HA jazz/barricade, which is all I cared about anyway. Those guys rock and aside from jetfire you could probably make an argument for any of them as the absolute best movie figure (voyager bb prime being in that mix too, just amazing they packed all the stuff from the leader fig in that little guy).
So pending ANY NEW CHARACTERS, collectors should be more then happy with what they got out of rotf…cuz dotm shit is definitely looking like shit 
Exactly. All the figures I want, I have. You have to admit though, Voyager Megatron is the “gem” of the line. However, if the leader class precedent works the same as with movies prior, then this is the best version.
Oh I agree, leader megs is bought and if there is no leader megs I’ll settle for the voyager.

I think I am going to skip BotCon this year. A set of Animated toys combined with the brutal cost of flights right now is seriously off-putting.
lol everyone I’ve been reading is like shitting their pants over the animated botcon set.
I just caught the tailend of animated…got my voyagers @ marshalls for $10 and I’m happy with them. Botcon set will probably make a lot of animated fans really happy, but really not worth the $$ to me.
Looking better and better everytime I see new pics. It’s amazing what these 3rd party companies are producing. PE:R is better looking than any other TF toy that has Has/Taks stamp on it.

I can’t wait for the Hasbro release of this toy. I always told myself that if they make an MP HOt Rod he’d be posed in Megatron’s grasp as he aims his pistol at Prime - just like in the movie. But after seeing that pic of him holding the Matrix over his head? I dunno…
