damn man, that tfp devestator will be in precise good scale with mp grimlock probably.
also lol at the tf forum people complaining bout if its more than 250 or 300 its too expensive. retards pay that price for a bs sculp like predaking, and they find it expensive for this? damn, stupid ass motherfuckers.
on another note, wouldnt mind seeing a complete new predaking from fp or tfp.
Anyone in here bothered with the Power Core Combiners line much? While most of the lines combiner options consists of weird, out of proportion, and crappy looking bots, there are a few decent ones.
The Bombshock w/combaticons set for example is pretty neat overall. Probably the best the line will see.
lol yeah, bombshock and destron ones are the only ones I was like âwow those are actually coolâ.
rest kinda look like bleh koâs to me. bit sad imo.
The only other part of the line that is mildly tempting lately, is when i realized i could get the upcoming destron set, and the rallybots set, swap commanders and get a PCC menasor!! Iâm such a sucker for G1 Menasor, he was always my favorite decepticon combiner, even over the likes of Predaking.
Or i could skip the destron set, and just buy a huffer and paint him black. The reason iâd want to do that is because the 5-packs donât come with any minicons, and hufferâs minicon makes a pretty cool chestpiece in combiner mode. Would also save extra $$ and unused drones from the leftover set.
Here are pics showing the combinations, get rid of the yellow on huffer+add chest piece, and he looks like a decent combination:
The main body is weird. In car & robot mode, he is a neat, cartoonish looking lilâbot. Main body however has the usual common problems. Chunky looking torso, tiny head, strange limb connections, etc. Maybe if i saw him in person iâd think differently.
The drone limbs however, aside from the red claw arm bot, look neat. Vehicle modes are cool, legs are decent, and arms are alright.
I think when the time comes iâll just buy the destron set, rallybots set, and huffer. Iâll remove crankcase and hufferâs minicon, adding him to rally bots set. Then sell off the rest.
Once i have my new menasor iâll be done with the line. I doubt itâll last much longer anyway, as almost all upcoming releases are repaints. Always seemed more like an experimental line to me. At least it will have had its notable elements before dieing off.
Opened up Piranacon.

yeah, I do not like it. I was so hype though! I didnât think it would feel soâŚflimsy. I guess I was just expecting something more solid. It almost feels like a knockoff in my hands, the plastic feels brittle and it has imperfections. Joints donât click like they should.
Confusingly the head of Snap Trap (the main body one) is green, but all the packaging and the original toy had a black head. So why is it G1 colored but they didnât bother to paint the head? Lots of little things really knock this one down a few points.
Darn iâm hoping to get that release one of these days too.
At the least, it has got to be a big improvement over that Hasbro collectorâs club release a few years back, which was supposed to be riddled with quality issues.
Thats a bit disappointing. guess you can always do some alterations to it yourself or just display in itâs packaging.
think thatâs what Iâll probably just end up doing if the toy itself isnât that satisfying
Hmmmm, ok, after settling down and really examining the toy I GUESS it isnât as bad as I made it out to be. For the price that it is I was expecting better. There are some quality control issues for it though, no mistake. Plastic imperfections, guns donât fit in hands (Snap Trapâsssââssâsâ gun will not fit in the top of his hand, only the bottom. This has been addressed in several reviews), overly loose/tight spots, paint errors, etc. I was being overly critical before. I wouldnât say it is a âMUST BUYâ kind of toy, more of a âif you want it then itâs cheaper than buying the vintage toyâ kind of buy.
If I HAD to give it a rating, 7/10.
Pretty much, if you had to pick between spending $60+ on this or MP Grimlock I would go with Grimlock.
duh, your comparing an mp mold that actually looks fucking great to a 20+ year old shitty ass combiner that looks like shit? this should be pretty obvious. i know a lot of people still like and buy the old combiners, but the molds, robot modes, combined form all look like ass. usually only the alternate mode looks good on these old combiners.
also some combiners still look like shit even customized. just look at frenz rumbles ones, none of them look good in robot mode (or resemble what theyre supposed to look like). even the combined form doesnt look like its supposed to (although it does look good combined). the fp bruticus is soo far thebest looking one (minus the left leg andleft arm), and the new tfp devestator is looking like its going to be the first great combiner to be released (and its fanmade, tak/has suck ass).
and before you blow your load all over the internet again let me clarify things, both have:
-Nostalgic value
-Similar price point
-Exclusivity
As a fan on a limited budget it can be hard to choose which to get. Both are appealing FOR THEIR OWN REASONS. Itâs not like we get legit G1 combiner reissues often so that sweetens the deal. MP Grimlock is just an awesome toy.
Bought MP Grimlock today. Yeah. Its pretty much amazing. Way bigger than all the pictures make it look. What annoyed me was that there were tiny bits of chrome chipped off of the teeth right out of the box, for $70 I expect total perfection dammit!
