Yea, I’ll buy it.
But to be honest, there are only so many ways you can draw Prime and Megatron while still clinging to those classic design elements.
Eventually, everything is going to look similar to something else in the art department because it all has the same roots.
but again, I do see the specific similarities here.
I just thought it was kind of interesting that they were taking bits and pieces from these characters the majority of tf fans have never even heard about. but its pretty cool to see homages to it.
I thought it was awesome when they sold overlord and (fire guts) god ginrai as part of the heroes of cybertron collection, shame that line didnt continue.
Transformers anything that doesn’t actually transform is merchandise I don’t ever buy.

Are the re-issues a big deal?
There are a few Prime/Megatron/Soundwave/Starscream toys at my local hobby shop, I never thought twice about picking them up. Do they sell well?

I found Movie repaint Ratchet (white nurse coloring) and Thundercracker tonight at WalMart.
1 of each per case, cases are marked as ‘Wave 4’
Some of the Japanese re-issues are hard to find now (over here anyway), but the demand for them might go down with the Encore line coming out. Any that I see in hobby shops and the like here in the states are always really overpriced though. I still need to get my hands on that re-issue Predaking gift set.
Next Encore reissues are Ironhide and Ratchet!

Here’s the awesomeness:
A preview page had shadows of Ratchet, Ironhide, Jazz and Scorponok (all G1) and seemed to imply Encore Reissues. This was last week.
Now we’ve got the Ratchet and Ironhide announcement.
I just might poop a little if they announce Scorponok in the following month or so.
An announcement of Scorponok would make me so horny. Skylynx/Ratchet/Ironhide has already been a wet dream come true for me, any more G1 announcements would just be icing on the cake.
