I am a bit taken aback by prowl/Ironhide etc gettiing new versions in consecutive years whereas that turnaround is usually for op/mega/scream/bee.
The main thing I am annoyed about is the prevalence of exclusives. Even though I’m in the US, the online infrastructure of WM and Target sucks meaning I can’t just order them online and have tea with no worries. I have Less time and also with Corona I am minimizing my toy hunting to times when I am doing grocery shopping.
It’s a Walmart Exclusive. It hasn’t been released yet. However, given who the character is, I doubt you will have any real problem getting it online or in store.
In terms of runs, Bumblebee is pretty much an easy cash grab. A lot of market appeal and it doesn’t take up much shelf space. They can just turn those things out with no problem.
Just because a screwjob has gone unnoticed, or not acknowledged much by the fandom, doesn’t make it any less of a screwjob.
Hasbro could have given us the Earthrise designs from the get-go, and offered the Siege versions on the side at the collector club site or something. Nope, they chose to bring the Siege designs first in a bid to sucker in as many collector’s as possible. Before bringing out the GOOD designs they knew damn well most of us would prefer instead.
Check E-bay again. There’s tons of New in box stuff, no doubt from fans getting rid of it ahead of time so they can replace it with the Earthrise release.
Siege stuff like Bluestreak is nice for what it is but, it just doesn’t compare to the Earthrise release. The robot and vehical mode are a big step up. Damn near nobody would have bought Siege Bluestreak, if they knew the Earthrise release was coming mere months later (myself included).
The story set up is in three parts (Cybertron, Earth, and BW Earth). The designs are still good, just don’t have the alt mode to match. Even in the cartoon, their Cybertronian robot modes matched up to their Earth based counterpart. If this is your gripe with Hasbro, they’ve been making these type of moves since 1984.
Likely scalpers who bought that stuff thinking it was the only train in. Key example would be Ratchet.
Perhaps, but this is Hasbro. The fact that we are getting Earth versions was a shock to very few. It’s almost a game at this point to see how many characters you can squeeze out of a single mold. They are using Wheeljack to get a Sunstreaker
No sir. Sure they’ve always done repaints, remolds, etc, but this is something else entirely. This is bait & switch, duping and screwing over fans.
Yes it’s a 3-part story and guess what? That story was precisely set up in such a way, in order to screw over the fandom the way they did. Selling us the same characters back-to-back.
If somehow News/images/plans got leaked on all the Earthrise stuff, way back when Siege was first starting?
NOBODY would have bought figures like Prowl, Ironhide, Skywarp, Starscream, Magnus, etc. The fans would have waited till Siege was over to get the GOOD versions.
You may be one of few people that actually has an issue with the way this played out. They are different alt modes with similar robot modes.
They aren’t the same though. If it’s only because the alt modes isn’t G1 enough, that’s just a preference.
They are all just Cybertronian renditions of those characters. The Seekers are completely different (IMO the Siege version makes a better bot). People have been wanting a tetrajet since forever.
“They tried to paint his nails on the generation. Which I find disgusting.”
Man, that figure looks so good. I’m super happy at how they absolutely nailed the face as well as how discreet they made the backpack. I don’t know a lot about TF toys but from what little I’ve heard/read sometimes the backpack can make or break a figure for some people.
Double leg articulation is dope too.
The rattrap figure he compared the kingdom to is nightmare fuel
When PrimeVsPrime compares the CHUG to the MP version, he mentions the differences with the bumper. I think he forgets that since it’s not not a licensed figure, they have to play fast and loose with the car similarities.
