I wasn’t really into Beast Wars until a few years ago. I remember binging the shit out of it back when it was on Netflix. Ever since then, I’ve been buying up the MPs.

The BW MPs are much more accurate than the G1 stuff. This is primarily because they are using the CAD renders as the base for a number of the figures. Surprisingly, Optimus Primal (Show version) has almost tripled in value on the secondary market.

I can guarantee that the Season 1 cast of Beast Wars as MPs is more when than if. The fact that we got Blackarachnia before Tarantulas adds fuel to that fire.

KINGDOM may be the chance to do so. Then you’d also get Grizzly-1 as a repaint.

Why, oh why, am i not surprised? They most likely had all these designs created and ready, a long ass time ago. Siege was really just there to rip-off and dupe fans by putting out the oddball variations first.

Disgusting and sleazy on the part of Hasbro. They’re not even trying to hide it by waiting a bit. They really are just releasing the Good versions back-to-back, highlighting how foolish the fans were by bothering with the Seige releases.

Not sure why you keep asking this question. Different markets. While G1 2.0, it’s not G1. This is the collector that the MP line suits.

Anyway, that Trailbreaker is pretty decent. Given that Hoist is a thing, this comes as no surprise. I am surprised that Inferno’s SKU hasn’t been leaked yet either.

The only figures that have my interest for the next installment are Primal, Megatron (BW) with Cyclonus and Galvatron as maybe.

The MP line is for masochists that like paying an arm and a leg for figures that are horrendously difficult to transform, and made with dollar-store quality plastic (looking at you, MP Rodimus, on both counts!). For everyone else, CHUG has come through for us in a big way. This is how it should be.

I’d agree that CHUG has come a long way, but there is a ton more going on with MP than just looks.

This review of ER Sunstreaker compared it to the MP.

I really don’t hear a big outcry with the Siege vs. ER stuff. Given that HasTakTomy said it’s a three-part story, most collectors saw this coming 20 miles away. The only surprise in this trilogy is that Beast Wars is the 3rd part.

Just because more fans aren’t being vocal about the screw job, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. Hasbro/Takara put together great designs (earthrise), then created the variations (Siege), so they could sell us the same characters TWICE back-to-back.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Siege figures are clogging up E-bay by now. With all the fans that got suckered in, scrambling to get rid of their Siege guys, so they could get the GOOD versions.

Sure, but that’s a minority position within the fandom. I may have only seen this expressed one other time.

They aren’t.

A fair number of collectors have moved to buying and selling within Facebook groups. Even then, Siege figures sales are few and far between. Mainly it’s CHUG stuff from series prior. The collectors that are in those groups already knew that the next move was Earth and figured either go for something different or wait for the next release. In those cases, the Siege figure bot modes (which most people display them in) share about 95% of the design. The only redos at this point are are:

  • Datsuns
  • Vannettes
  • Prime
  • Megatron
  • Sounwave/Cassettes

The Seekers are a completely different build. Either people are fine with what they got, or just bought the new version.
