I am almost done leader, although it still takes me like 6-8 games to level up once now
scout and scientist could take a bit, seeing as I am hit or miss when I play them.
soldier is gonna take awhile. I just plain suck with them lol
This is gonna be a sure fire plat. Got all the trophies except the Hidden symbols and the Class level ones.
Had 2 EPIC multiplayer things happen last night. Conquest Mode in Molten. On the way to capture post B. Realized that when I got there it was defended by 1 Scouts, a Soldier, and 2 scientist. War Cry’ed and I sent 3 fusion blast in (1 for the turret, 1 for the leader and on for the scout/ scientist.) Turret was gone, soldier moved so it just sent so splash damage around the way, the third blast was a headshot on the scout. I was at the post now, the soldier started up whirlwind, but I used the disruptor wave to cancel out the move and transform lock him in tank mode, KO’ed him. All that was left were the scientist. I Donkey Konged 1, the other transformed and hauled ass, pull out my Ion Blaster for the final shot.
WE’VE CAPTURED B!!!
The other was an escalation match. All of us went down except for the Arcee player, who died on the overshield platform. This was about mid wave 18. He completed the wave solo. That was too good to see the NPCs wonder where he went the whole time. This guy was moving like a spider monkey
I love this game. People send me IMs saying Street Fighter misses me now :lol
It wouldn’t really be a Cybertron thing but an animal altmode could prove useful (think Grimlock or Razorclaw)
I think the jets have such low health as they can get in and out of a situation ASAP. What ground vehicle would you want? If they just gave the tank a machine gun it would help, but it would have to be weak as it could have a game breaking factor.
Animals would lack the speed of vehicles, with the exception of your big cat/ air based animal modes. Grimlock trucking would not be the same as Optimus truckin through the stage. I doubt they would do that, but if done right, it would surely add a new element of gameplay. Close quarters combat would be epic
I wouldn’t have minded a multiplayer creation that was more in depth. Why can’t I be a plane with camo? Overpowered, perhaps, but not if you gain/lose health cubes depending on what skillset u have equipped.
Close quarters combat would be sick if you added the dinobots or beastbots
As for my leader, I run with warcry and moleculon ball…throw that shit out, and whirlwind characters, scouts, jets, etc all get stuck, and your team can move faster. I can roll into a group of enemies, drop the ball, drop a mine, and warcry before they even realize what happened. Add a ram to start things off, and u can kill 3 no problem.
A cloaked jet would almost break the game.
As far as my leader, I may have to go back to Moleculon ball. I just like disruption cause its instant WTF for the person on the recieving end. If you transform, You DIE!!!
hence why ud give it like ONE health bar…if it doesn’t successfully kill u, it be doomed. Afterburner (speed boost) would obviously be harder to use if you can be killed by almost ANY weapon.
Like I said, I love the game, I just feel they could allow for a MUCH better game if they allowed a more in depth multiplayer
And yeah, Moleculon ball is the shit cuz it can deal with more than one character, AND buff your team. Disruption fucks over like one guy, and thats about it. If it was AOE, then hells yeah
Moleculon balls is freaking awesome compared to the other abilities. It’s almost always going to be in your favor because if they try to pop it and they are nearby they eat some damage to it too. Trying to level up the leader in order to get the speed boost. Nothing like scoring a couple of kills through moleculon ball then activating POKE 2.0 to go to the next conquest node and slicing the shit out of everyone.
I love the multiplayer as it is, the only thing I want is more character skins (and even better a sort of customizing feature).
Jets do not need camo of any kind. I main Scientist class and I already feel guilty for half the shit I pull.
Excuse my ignorance but aside from the jet form… what sort of shit do you feel guilty of? Unless I am missing something, that disguise ability seems to be pure trash since most folks have picked up the habit of “I see a scientist, fire a shot/melee to check if it’s friendly”. Shockwave and Drain are pretty good abilities but I keep hearing amazing stuff with the disguise ability. So am I missing something here? Sentry is awesome though, especially in Conquest.
Disguise is a very subtle ability, and for me some of the best laughs happen because of it.
- True people are hip to suspect Scientist, and reticule will go red if you aim at an imposture, but you can counter savvy players. People who in disguise at the start of the match are doomed to be exposed. People aren’t so stupid that they won’t see a ‘teammate’ in an area too far from spawn. The best use of disguise is during heated moments, a big firefight where people are only fixated on whether you have a blue or red fonted name.
- People are used to how teammates move; if you’re walking toward an enemy in a suspect way, they will test you. Walking alongside enemies works better, especially if you wanna pick off a trouble maker (someone with a killstreak, a sniper, any scout just cause).
- Don’t go looking for a super-spy kind of living with the enemy with disguise, what you want is that split second of confusion. From there drain+shotty/melee or shockwave and get the hell outta there.
Disguise is a subtle ability, but you shouldn’t take it to the extremes.
My medic Scientist class is probably more useful and that’s where I imagine that it must very frustrating dealing with a good Scientist. I had a match where I was 8/0 and my buds also had positive K/Ds simply because I made sure everybody was full health. This naturally led to more instances of killstreaks for our side. My bud got his Leader to get that sword killstreak and together with my repair ray we literally annihilated three fools in a row. All we needed was a single Scientist (myself) for that kind of carnage. Drain even works while in jet form, I’m currently dreaming up shenanigans as we speak!
There are factors to consider:
- I don’t think most people ‘get’ the nature of the game yet. It has an oldschool FPS pace meshed with modern class-based, ‘perks’ gameplay and I see people haven’t adjusted very well.
- When everybody gets their classes pimped out, we’ll really see some powerful strategies at play.
I find multiplayer guilty of the same problem Gears of War had. Most strategies revolve around shotgun/melee to win. Soldiers can just whirlwind instead. Leader sits back and buffs, while launching Fusion shots into the scrum.
And I agree. The whole point of disguise is to make the guy ignore you long enough to deal damage. It also helps if the other team has a jet on their side. If not, you’re pretty obvious.
Took me awhile to realize Disguise changes your name to one of your opponents names.
I’d put Tranformers WfC head and shoulders above GoW1/2. The fun factor and satisfaction of a good strategy is paramount to me. I seriously love this game.
First, inconsistent shotty damage was the issue with GOW1 not the strength of shotty or melee. Second, lets not talk about that game in the TF thread as it wouldn’t lead to anything other then the closing of it, and finally most strategy in TF does not revolve around shotty/melee to win at least not against good players (who are very hard to find in TDM especially.)
Also a cloaked jet with 1 HP is a stupid and lazy way to balance the class. The 3 HP jet has now is perfect as is not too strong not too weak, just right considering how powerful sentry and shockwave can be (which pushes opponents out of melee range but still in range to get hit by sentry.) I almost never use the EMP shotty because it takes too long to reload and photon rifle is such a beastly weapon it’s great at medium range and I can even snipe from long range easily with it.
I’m on now if anyone wants to play invite me.
lol whirlwind can be stopped just by going to a higher ground…any higher ground. they can’t do anything to you unless there’s a ramp or something for them to whirlwind up. I’m a 25 soldier, and I’ll even admit that this is the scrubbiest shit that 90% of the soldiers will do. They’ll take a couple hits then start mashing that ability button in hopes of tagging you . when I want to whirlwind, I’ll wait for leader buff, then just run the fuck in and do it. not a last resort for me, but a assault tactic when I see large groups of enemies.
I’m trying to cap leader now and it’s all too predictable to see when the idiot soldier will try to spam a whirlwind in hopes of randomly killing you when you’ve clearly won the fight. I’ll either a) double jump/fusion cannon to finish them or b) car mode drive back & leader missiles. if you have a mine available, just lay that too and chances are they’ll come running right into it. even with the whirlwind movement speed+ they can’t catch a vehicle if you know the map enough to drive backwards.
whirlwind is great but too many are using it wrong. great as a surprise attack, blows for desperation.
Last night I fought a team of tanks who all spammed Whirlwind in the center of gorge.
And you know what? They won doing that.
Never been so angry at a team in any game ever. Me and my bud couldn’t believe it. I saw Scientists played like soldiers jumping into battle and trying for toe-to-toe and getting killed. And if they are tanks they just use WW and hope for the best. My Scientist-medic efforts were useless when teamed with morons.
Like any game, get a squad together. For this game all you need is four guys who understand each other.
^they really could. i dont own this game but might just buy it. i still find it a lil sad theres no combiners or dinobots at all. grim can tank way more damage in dino mode, can fire flames, cqan crush with his size, can bite you in 2.
Exactly.
For some reason though I’ve found myself steamrolling in conquest mode, regardless of if I’m playing with my team or randoms. I think the whole capture node system has gotten me to understand the intricacies of the maps a bit more, flying from point to point to either capture or defend. I think it’s because this mode focuses less on kdr and more on map possession and strategy.
Not only that but if I’m rushing points hard, I often see randoms on my team who I have no communication with (I’m on pc, lol) following in right behind me, working as a team. Trying to get any kind of teamwork like that done in tdm is near impossible without vent.
The only thing that reeeeeally pisses me off in conquest is the one fucking scout you get stuck with who only wants so snipe the entire round. And not even snipe capture nodes…he’s sniping random shit on the stage instead. Get off your fucking snipe point and start capturing some nodes you worthless sack of shit. Seriously…I wish there was a team vote for booting at times like that.
Agree about the snipe thing. If its an objective mode, don’t play like it’s TDM.
SHIT IS FULL RETARD . . . . .AND YOU NEVER GO FULL RETARD!
Nothing I like more than shooting a tank from a cross the map and see him panic and turn on whirlwind with no one in the room.
