I think you get an additional tech slot after each difficulty beaten, I’m halfway through Prime and I have four slots atm. I never put much $$ into buying the character levels, but seems like the character’s level cap increases and experience keeps stacking when you fully leveled on lower ones. Had Bumblebee at level 70 or so on everything by the time I finished Magnus, and every stats took a 7-8 point jump when i finished Magnus difficulty.
I’ve been mainly using BumbleBee and I have all his stats well into the 90s now. Prime difficulty hits harder on damage(like down to sliver of health) but with stats in 90s and 6 slot SS weapon at level 50 the damage is comparable to the highest weapons available on lower difficulties. If I play Commander now with Bumblebee, it’s near 1-hit kills. Even characters I haven’t leveled destroy with level 50 SS weapons.
Any difficulty just take any six slot weapon and build a rare drop/weapon drop loadout then grind mission 49 for like 10 minutes and you’ll be loaded with weapon options, sometimes it’s small, but sometimes you’ll get 15 weapons in 1 attempt. Took a few hours but i have every character with full SS weapon sets
I was trying to snag Freeze gauntlet set for Bumblebee, finally got a SS/6-slot/level 11 to start. Synthesized those with a SS level 50 Burn Sword I had for the slot bonuses in it and it instantly upgraded the Freeze Gauntlets to level 50. Which was awesome lol. Basically you can level up a weapon to 50, if you don’t like, synthesize, and everything you put into it transfers over to the new base weapon you pick.
Fuck man, I’ve got so much work to do lol. Can’t believe how easy it is to get SS on challenges 49/50 but I can’t seem to get anything better than an A or C on some of the earlier ones…my only guess is I’m not doing enough damage
SS Ranks are entirely dependent upon score. Get those bonuses- Reversals, Rush Attacks, Head Shots, Stuns, Guard Breaks, maintaining Overdrive all boost your score waaaaaay more than No Damage or Time Bonuses do.
You also cannot lose points, unlike in Bayonetta or DMC, so take your time and boost that score as much as possible.
Game would sell a bunch more if the marketing team was on top of it
Mario Butt Stomp (R1 Vehicle transform slam), then sit there revving and taking tons of damage off enemies, even smaller bosses. Yes. Can do it vs Shielded enemies, and at least in Commander(HARD) Diff, the shield out (Wheeljack right?) lets you just continue your combos unabaded and takes hits for you.
Drill charge projectile is great for the unlockable Decepticon flags in levels hidden up there too if you don’t have a sniper rifle. Whats with the weak-forgot the name, very close range splash weapon. And the insecticon crawling the walls that you can destroy.
Any other Melee have projectiles on attack besides the Twin Energon swords?
Had to come back, search the Alex Flash Chop, janitor suplex. Thanks for throw states list
Overdrive I assume is the R3 L3 special. And special or whatever it says is the L1. Oh you said its not? Yeah, one is meter build faster never had to use/check.
You can take a look at skills, only when you are adding them and need to drop one/choose between 2 or more to add in the limited slots, only there it gives a more full description. but someone else could data mine what every lv means, in what % for weapon skills like Rare drop lv.4 or whatever, or the damage ones since higher difficulties bring in the rares Ranks anyway.
Wheeljack started with a +40% Ranged Damage tech installed, was that normal? Flamethrower + that = good for fighting 2 bosses at a time, burn thru all the early stuff in the city. Vehicle mode + Sniper is hilarious, just outrange most of the limited bosses if you end up low on health or something. Hate when they bust up the cars and benches and those energy cubes dissipate early into a fight when you don’t need them. Too bad no Megaman E tanks to fill and pop.
Got turned around on the chase Megatron on the truck 2nd time thru after Normal diff on Hard, died to one of his Goenitz plasma pillars, was being resurrected then the gameover retry screen and I didn’t get that extra life back either, dang. And beating that guy you chase over the freeways too, loses the game. You just have to beat him to the bridge spot which wasn’t too clear since they jump you into that chase and say BEAT HIM.
^ 30% Ranged Tech, not 40. Finally got a Health one +400
Oh yeah.
I’ve had a boss parry my vehicle attack combo ender, even in focus slow-mo
back at the boss of the end of the bridge in chapter 3 on normal. Geese PREDICTABO on my Optimus. What a jerk.
Anybody figure out how to do the alternate version of Optimus L1 where he spins and hits 3 times? I thought it was timing based, but it seems like its more, back version (Alex suplex vs powerbomb) so no idea how to reliably set that up.
Spreadshot, actually does a ranged attack. I noticed on the top down part of going to get the red block bomb, it hit and exploded while still doing that weird splash only from the muzzle, you can’t see that so much just testing the gun. shooting Starscream with it didn’t have any hitsparks on him, but you could see it much easier on the top down birds eye camera view.
Not getting interesting weapons until Hard mode but got a shotgun “Fusion Cannon (Mod)” Only lv 3 so I can’t really try that out in combat. I was wrong about the devastator drill. You can look around without L2 to aim, since it doesn’t aim and only goes straight, not vertical at all.
Incorporating ranged into your fighting is great to keep your eye on the boss. Lock on faces you the right way on that trigger press, then you might get the focus dodge Max Payne/Matrix aiming gunshots that you probably didn’t want anyway to slow you down.
Yes!!! Child of the 80’s and die-hard Generation 1 fan here, and i just recently came out of modern gaming retirement briefly for this game. A friend and i took it for a spin last night.
So awesome! This is the G1 Transformers game i’ve always dreamed of.
Before this, the best games we had were TF:Armada for PS2. Which was the first legit, well-made, TF game we ever got. Then the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games came out, and those were excellent. Finally, G1 gets a badass videogame representation. Love the gameplay, as it’s a modern-era beat’em up. Love the graphical style that emulates the G1 cartoon, voice actors returning, etc.
I thought Prime or Grimlock would be my mains but, i was surprised to find myself using Bumblebee the most. The lil’guy is pretty awesome. Although i did use Grimlock often for some tougher boss battles, like Blitzwing!
Tempted to acquire a used 360 or PS3 and the game, and continue playing.
