On Playthrough 4. I thought that I was just gonna go in with a moderately leveled Grimlock and play through on Magnus since I wanted to trophy farm. Then this happened:
The damage ratio and enemy layout is glorious and difficult. I had to go back to Prime and Sideswipe for the higher difficulty levels. I was doing challenge maps on Commander and felt pretty good about things, and Magnus had to drop the hammer on me. It doesn’t feel cheap it just makes you understand that if you do not want to die, you gotta get better.
Yup I had that once as well. Just beat him back into the scrapheap again XD
Even odder, first time I faced Motormaster, I beat him, made me way towards the mission destination only to get the game over/retry screen out of the blue with no reason at all 
Yeah, he does that. If you lollygag, he will just pick back up where he left off. I was doing a some collectible hunting and then saw in the distance him moving towards the destination. I lost despite just transporting him into oblivion LOL
Sideswipe’s dash triggers focus - that’s one other good thing, especially on Magnus and Prime difficulty.
Also, Wheeljack’s shield is a lifesaver on Magnus/Prime. Not losing 75% of your health helps in the boss battles where you can’t see shit due to screen clutter.
Insecticons are a bunch of assholes. Especially the one that sitting in the back tossing lightning at you constantly. I can only imagine how much of a pain dealing with them on the higher difficulties are because they were in my ass cheeks enough as it is.
Also wanted to ask if you guys got the Star Saber sword from Transformers Prime or not. Doesn’t shoot beams like the Dark Star Saber does but it’s still a nice electric sword. Also Megatron’s Fusion cannon is RIDICULOUS…I’m definitely leveling this thing up.
Edit: Fusion Cannon is fun and does solid damage but apparently doesn’t hold any sort of candle to the drills…
I got a beastly Rifle (stacked with Headshot+ and Crit+) for dealing with Insecticons on Prime. You can murder them pretty fast if you just wait for a Focus opportunity, Rifle Shot x2.

[/quote]This game on Magnus is already soul crushing. It’s funny because I can go an play Commander now like these dudes ain’t scrap, both due to damage output and to skill. I just fought and beat the mission with all 3 “Anicient” Insecticticons simultaneously. It took a few tries, but once it clicks, the game then becomes beatable again. This game requires a lot of situational awareness, especially in group battles. They will blast you in the back with no reservation. I will be going into Prime mode shortly. Wish me luck LOL!

Dunno about situational awareness.
To me it seems like the game becomes “MASH DODGE REAL HARD” on higher difficulties. You like hit them twice, mash dodge when bullet time starts, hit them twice again, dodge rinse and repeat until the enemy numbers become manageable.
I guess I prefer action games without RPG-stuff or a minimum of it in them.
I like being able to not play a game for month or years, then pick it up again and destroy it on the hardest difficulty.
In this game you gotta grind some shit first and do micromanagement stuff.
I always feel like the RPG-stuff is designed to waste my time and make a game look bigger than it actually is.
Don’t feel like this kind of stuff is a real substitute for real gameplay content.
The grinding of weapons is mostly to pad out game time for those that might not be into learning the core combat to it’s fullest. It is a very short game after all. Even on games like DMC or Bayonetta you do have to grind for a fair bit to get all your abilities unlocked. For these types of games, I just always keep a 100% save around so I can just hop and play though.
Turns out I DID get another Tech slot for 'Swipe after some grinding, fancy that. Also Megatron is hella OP on Commander, don’t know what the fuck I’m gonna do at the next two difficulties…holy shit…
Kinda wanna try this game out, because it’s transformers, but i’m not giving Platinum any more than $5 of my money.
Hire Tameem Antonaides for some sort of advisory and/or PR position, then I’ll pay whatever price they ask.
