I feel that with a franchise like Transformers, it would all come down to the special effects. And they WERE good. But every movie had complaints. And ROTF was an absolute shitfest. I’m not saying the 3 movies all together were complete ass, but the first was decent, and the third one…people are just plain overrating it.
I’m thinking that when somebody takes it over now that Bay is moving on, we will get a MUCH better movie. One where Megatron isn’t a chump who gets his ass handed to him regularly (and is ACTUALLY in fucking charge of the Decepticons). One where Unicron actually shows up. Or where the Autobots aren’t limited to 4 fucking team members.
Also, I still can’t see how people think that duck faced chick in this movie was better than Megan Fox. You all don’t deserve penises
If Unicron shows up, it takes the scale up too far. You’ll get a Galactus thing going. I did want Megatron to be more of a leader than a CG Wallflower. With the Teams, they are limited exclusively to cost. Look at the Beast Wars. The only reason they didn’t have more of a character base was due to cost. That’s why you started seeing double (Tigatron/ Cheetor/ Ravage; Blackarachnia/ Tarantulas) with new character introductions.
How is Galactus a bad thing? Unicron wouldn’t be a first movie thing. You’d set up the first movie with hints about him. Second movie you actually show him, or have the Decepticons get in touch with him, then third movie you deal with him.
And FYI Galactus would still work, if they used the RIGHT Galactus
He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe
Akira
and a proper Fantastic Four
I know it’s a little too late at this point on the series but if they hadn’t decided to make every cybertronian be comprised of 2.5zillion moving pieces they probably could have afforded to have more of the CGI robots in the movie.
So you didn’t like his movies, but how is he a shit director? Everybody says he sucks but nobody ever says what it is he’s doing wrong or why he’s so awful. You just did that. You said that he sucks and really couldn’t provide a reason why. At this point you guys are jumping on “fuck Michael bay bandwagon” saying he sucks but nobody can articulate why.
And don’t fall back on that “well it’s just my opinion, man” bullshit either. Back up what you’re saying or shut the fuck up.
Oh and soviet, the rock was made when I was in high school. No way is he riding the money from a movie made in like 96 and still getting shit made because of it. Don’t be an idiot.
Did you not see how many robots were in the last two movies? Don’t be an idiot.
This is the shit I’m talking about. You guys are just talking shit to justify why you don’t like the guy, to the point where you’re making shit up to justify your idiotic notions. You know Bay took a paycut to make 2. He finds ways to shrink the budget, not inflate it. That’s why he has product placements, the military does work for him dirt cheap, etc.
Show me a fucking graph, a chart, or a fucking reciept where you can prove that stupid shit you just said or shut the fuck up.
Yeah, you’re right about the Galactus thing. However, Unicron was the destroyer of everything, not just Autobots. Keeping the story narrowed to those two factions would be the right thing to do IMO.
You do realize that the human body is composed of several hundreds of components. You just have a layer of skin wrapping it all together.
I like the design aesthetic. The internal complexity makes them look more like “Super Robot Lifeforms”.
His movies are bad. The pacing within this movie is terrible and plenty of scenes are totally unnecessary. Two examples are the Skyscraper scene and the parachuting into Chigago scene. Both of these could have been removed from the movie.
They spent forever scrammbling around in that building then they slid down the outside, then all managed to fall back into the building and slid across the only floor to convieniently have no furniture or carpet. Then the building falls horizontally and they are again imperilled by gravity. When it’s all said and done they abandon the building plan and accomplish nothing as a result other than getting like two or their team killed.
Throughout all 3 movies characters randomly dissapear and reappear based on plot convienience. There a constant undertone of whacky foriegners and the acting is poor and dialog abysmal.
did they ever explain why their were so few autobots in this movie? seemed like a handful, kinda was dediculous the decpticons had like a million footsoldiers to the autobots like 6 and bootleg gi joe.
The two scenes you speak of are for EPIC factor and push the characters into a corner. The skygliders show the more creative way the team gets in. The skyscraper scene gives our characters a problem to get out of while trying to fix a problem (removing the pillar), and make good use of visual FX. Scenes like Deep Wang or comedy that doesn’t really push the story forward makes more sense to be cut.
With the characters disappearing, don’t see that as a big deal. Would you really want them to stick around if they’re not needed? The core group has remained throughout all the movies
Not really. Hero Ninja team vs. Impossible Odds sums that up pretty well.
lol me and my friend kept saying it was autobots x gi joe vs decpticons. we watched this movie thinking how easily they could make a gi joe/transformers cross over. you dont even need alot of back story, gi joe is kinda self explanatory…elite military team lol.
Bay’s the director that says action and then commando rolls onto the set with a camera in hand. He very rarely has any input on the actual script in terms of this should happen or that should happen, plot arcs etc; if he’s happy with the script, he’ll film it. But it’s not like he’s ever going to say no to an action scene (regardless of whether it makes any sense plot-wise) in a summer block buster.
If you want to blame someone for a shit story/plot etc, blame the writers or time constraints.
