Sooooo this movie was way better than Transformers 1 and 2… But it still wasn’t a good movie… Michael Bay is a fail of a director… Nuff said.
The Pixar examples are Easter Eggs; they don’t count, at all. The Disney ones do more so.
There seems to be a thought going around that they reused that scene because in the scene they were filming there was an accident and one of the extras was seriously injured
Man this movie is cleaning house at the box office. Its already sitting at 162 million for the weekend total so far.
^That’s good for it. Tyress must be loaded. He’s been in so many summer movies that he must be in in the tens of millions by now.
Man. Just let it go lol. We know it’s bad. They know it’s bad. It’s just a matter of how bad is it compared to the other bad Transformers movies and you are right. It’s better than 2 ( but it’s on par with 1 kind of).
And please stop sniffing your own ass for a second and realize that a man who can consistently bang out $200 million hits is NOT a failure. Just because you don’t direct Black Swan or True Grit or even The Hangover, doesn’t mean you are a bad director. You just direct crappy films and know how to turn them into cash cows.
How does one, “Just direct crappy films…” and not be a bad director?
That is the reason why
QFT. BTW, I really didn’t think The Hangover was that great
Crappy is relative but I see your point. He accomplishes the objective, making an action spectacle that people are willing to see. If he is that bad then why do people continue to flock into theaters to see his work? Like it or not, he’s got to be doing something right.
He picked an obviously huge franchise. And his producers were big names as well. Don’t kid yourself, let another director take on Transformers, and see how it handles.
he is not that bad anyway.
I am not kidding myself. They chose him because of his way of filming. he’s not going to make Citizen Kane, but makes things look great on screen. He was handpicked for the job. Not by fans, but by Hasbro, Paramount, and Dreamworks.
Could another Director do a better job, perhaps. We’ll find out in the years to come.

i think its pretty neat that he pulled this off
but hmm movie still was an upset to me
He is a terrible director the only thing I give credit to him for is he knows how to film action. The fact his movies are able to make $100M+ makes him dangerous and a genius.
Yes the Pixar example were more easter eggs, I couldn’t find the video that showed the reused assets. But I made my point anyway with Disney and anime.
Yea. They hired him to make a movie that will sell a shit load of toys much like how the G1 cartoon was made to sell a shit load of toys. The ciiiiiircle of liiiiiiife!
The sooner you guys learn this the sooner you’ll stop being surprised by this kind of stuff.
lol if I had a child that played with Transformers I would not let them see TF2 or TF3 (well the begining atleast of T3)
I really don’t see how he could be dangerous. Its not like he makes Uwe Boll level of movies.
Congratulations on being a hypothetical good parent. When I went to see The Hangover 2 someone brought their 5 year old with them.
No but studios will just make dumb movies, whilst the potential Nolans of the world stand in line waiting for their turn.
We had a baby in our screen. Didn’t cry during the whole 2hr 50mins the movie was on :wonder:
There will still be potential Nolans in this world. The man made a movie based off a franchise that was made to sell toys, i don’t see why him making uber amounts of money of this franchise automatically means all the “arthouse” directors are screwed.
They made Batman to sell comics and toys, what would Batman be if Bay was director shudders
Batman started as a narrative character. It’s a little different. He wasn’t a toy first.
