I just watched this movie tonight. Definitely felt Bay had redeemed himself after the second movie and thoroughly enjoyed it far more than I thought I would too. I think it’s the best one in the series so far.
it was a good movie and and a 2 and half hour long build to the climax it seemed… but too me still was a little ridiculous like the second movie. everything was easily predicted…
as soon as i saw lebouf’s gf’s boss i knew who he was gunna be, and i dont see how you could disagree on fightscenes… i mean yea there was ppl shooting here and there… and yea there was like a 30 second standoffs with 4 of the transformers at a redlight intersections… and there was everyone running while the autobots would save them in smal second flashes… but an actually fight scene that brings the epic battles similiar to jean claude van damme in the quest combined with gundam wing endless waltz… there wasnt any… until the end when sentinel, optimus, and mega battled… thats my only upset of the movie that i had to wait threw the whole 2 hours and idk how long to see one fight…
other than that i say it was a good movie… if i were to rate it on a 1-10, or A+ to F, … i would say and 8.8 or an A-
It’s not bullshit that basically every big budget action movie lacks a rock solid story, but it is BS that most teenage film snobs are so hypocritical and selective with their criticism. But that’s the Internet.
And that’s the end of me posting in a thread full of spoilers until it shows up in my neighborhood (July 29)
lol at the comment that Megs was reduced to hobo status…cuz he also carried a shotgun, making me think of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssHEAOrAdCU
i enjoyed all 3 of the films; I think Bay did a great job with the movie series.
There was one thing i never understood about the Movie, and that was Megatron. I remember during the first film, he was huge as hell (king kong huge) when he was ripping apart jazz. Jazz appeared to be nothing more then a twig in comparison to Megatron. Yet after, he’s nearly of the same mass as Optimus.
Crysis 2 has some crazy similarities to this movie.
I thought Bumble Bee was going to get a Game of Thrones killing off. I kinda would have liked that just for the emotion it would have evoked.
Jazz was a small sports car (Pontiac Solstice) and the smallest Autobot in the first film. I believe Megatron was slightly taller than Optimus.
I understand that. However Megatron was king kong while jazz was the white lady. Megatron is only a little bit bigger than optimus… i just watched the first movie again, and jazz was the size of megatrons foot. He wasn’t a super midget in the midst of his allies.
Fist of the North Star syndrome
Just like the toys and the cartoons, scale be damned.
And yeah all I could think about was Crysis 2 during the Final Battle(s) stuff.
I thought one of the points in the first movies was that there wasn’t supposed to be any size changing, like with G1 Soundwave and Megatron.
It seems they threw that out considering they made Soundwave a satellite, capable of launching a bot as big as Ravage, in the 2nd movie a tiny car in this one.

wow. good job michael bay.
and as someone who lives in detroit, he keeps shooting scenes in this abandoned train station we got here. its in every movie he has done since the island. shows up like 4 times in transformers 3
and hes not even moving to a different room
Yep but this shouldn’t come as a surprise, as a visual artist I reused old assets all the time, the practice is very common in the industry, it saves time and money.
Pixar do it

Uhhh. . . . . OK, there’s an issue with using the same set piece? If the shoe fits, wear it. We want to count how many times the clock tower from BTTF was used or the neighbor hood in Lethal Weapon?
Exactly, that’s how you stay on time and within budget.
Yeah, recycled footage isn’t that big of a deal to me. Not a lot of people saw The Island, and in terms of optical compositing, its a pretty slick job. They could have painted out the truck and added a dread or two and it wouldn’t have been as hard to notice.
there is a chase scene in Exit Wounds (DMX/Seagal movie) where they drive around in a circle for several minutes…literally it’s a fucking tiny park in my downtown, and they just drove around it like 19 times, and even in the movie u see them pass by the same Tim Hortons coffee shop like 11 times
Green Lantern, the scene where everything on Oa shoots green lasers into the air, I swear its the same shot every time.
I’m torn on this. I understand animation doing it, but am I supposed to watch movies with the exact same scene of cars driving down the street, and then one of them blows up???
And a difference between having characters make cameo’s in other movies, and taking an already existing shot and just adding a robot
Trust me, unless you have intimate knowledge of the area, it happens a lot more than you think. Yeah, its a cheat, but again I think it was used because it was The Island. Nobody gave a damn about Tom Lincoln so he felt he could get away with it.
You make it sound like it’s a serious issue. The Island was released 2005. If you watch anime, the tv series are notorious for recycling footage even in the same episode e.g Street Fighter 2 V
BTW did anyone else notice the green Scottish Autobot had a master chief helmet
I need a gif of Leboof stomping his car
Trust me its not. I’ve seen some boards where the rage is EPICTICIOUS
Roadbuster actually had on a “Ball Cap” designed helmet
