I heard theyâre fixing some v-skill while fixing the airthrow bug, was the patch supposed to make Ibuki gain v-meter when using v-skill vs projectiles? Cuz it doesnât =(
Her V Skill not building meter against projectiles was intentional. Her V Skill is already a projectile which means it beats all grounded physical attacks once active. Allowing it to build meter on a projectile trade would be too much. She would then have a V Skill thatâs better than Nashâs and Karinâs combined. Youâre going to be gaining plenty of meter using to poke and in block strings as it is.
Nobody Iâve talked to knows what the V Skill glitch was. Maybe somebody can ask the panel at Evo.
If you are in the corner, cr.LK is better and it links to s.LP > raida H
Also, if only i was good and could do the basic combo s.MP, s.LK, kazekiri H consistently T_T. That open more posibilities, like cr.LK being the actual meaty to use midscreen and not s.MP. I feel like Ibuki low-pressure is important, if you only pressure with s.MP Ibuki will miss some good damage oportunities.
I actually thought about that but Iâm still working on the cr.lk to st.lp link as Iâm not too consistent on that linkâŚI get it 4/10 tries online so far. Iâll have to implement doing the kazekiri ender too, I just like to do raida ender because the opponent canât backrollâŚthough I do agree on her low pressure being vital too.
One of the more major problems Iâm struggling with is getting that second bomb out, whether itâs after the opponent doing a mix up or after finishing a combo. How are you guys going about that?
Has anyone found a way to do the so-called Sako Mixup on corner? (you know, the one where you throw a bomb, ex kunai, throw another bomb and then do f.HK and a command dash), the kunai explosion always seems to miss because it happens outside screen, it doesnât matter what strength I do, I tried doing a backdash but still no use, any ideas?
there is a two bombs combo in the corner but it is heavily scaled and doesnt do as much as basic enders with raida H. The reset mixup in the corner uses v.skill and it is not the Sako one unfortunately.
Itâs just sweep ,whiff s.lp and s.mp hits meaty. Itâs pretty easy to time. The HK dp and super are really tight links so might not be useful unless youâre amazing at hit confirms, but everything else should be seeable. Mid screen all you get is super or dp sadly.
On knock down or crush counter, ibuki can go to the other side quickly when the opponent gets up. It requires a timing that allows ibuki to follow up to the other side.
So far I tested with a jab (Nash), and ibuki is able to block it. This could be use to bait out reversals, or pressure opponents to not press buttons when mixed with a bomb. Allowing ibuki to throw, or continue free pressure. This mix-up can also be used in crush counterâs, but again timing is needed for practice to get it correctly.
Iâm more interested in using this as a bomb-bait. Basically after sheâs on the other side with the bomb, if the opponent presses anything, they can eat a full combo by ibuki. If they hold block, they have to deal with her in the front or back (your choice). Bomb explosion allows her to be somewhat hidden, so you can mix-up a move in there.
This kind of technical **** is what make Ibuki hard to play online, an extra ex Raida can be done instead of kunai release btw. If only anyone use any of those at Evo!
edit: i was toying with the idea of an extra ex-kunai at the end instead of kunai release, cancelled into the second bomb to trigger the Sako reset, but was unable to space it correctly, never worked. If anyone can continue with this research go ahead. It would make Ibuki capable of confirming a long range ex-kunai into a 50-50 setup lol.
