i dont think anyone in clear mind will try to win evo with 2 week ibuki unless she has some really dirty broken stuff
She wonât. This isnât an NRS or anime game where characters are capable of fraudulent ass shit that developers oversight on that can run a tournament immediately. The game is too honest for that.
Everyone remembers AE Yun and how he was supposed to win Evo, except he didnât.
Thatâs fucking stupid as fuck.
Youâre gonna whine to not let someone in unless itâs a month in advance so people can prepare for her, but youâre playing tournaments on an unfinished game.
This is starting to make me even furtherly mad at not just crapcom but how EVO is being ran if this shit flies.
Well the poll doesnât lie, 3/4âs of the vote says you better heavily consider making her playable.
people voting and people playing the tournament are most likely 2 different groups
Reminds me of the sexy costume ban in doa5. The last tourney I went to the TO asked if we wanted the rule in place, and none of the players (which included a girl) cared. I donât think any tourney ever enforced the ban in practice.
From a viewer perpective it would be great to see Ibuki played, however i understand from a competitor standpoint it would be really bothersome. Aside from the fact itâs dfficult to come up with anti ibuki startegies in such a short time and it being even harder for the person playing Ibuki to do well with her learning all the matchups. Ibuki might potentially have some glitches or even broken stuff which might arise somewhere in the 2 weeks between her release and EVO. The what about the players that practiced Ibuki only to have some glitches or broken stuff to be found which in turn might get her banned again.
Itâs a recipe for potential disaster to be honest.
I personally donât care as i wonât be going to EVO anyway and i would be thrilled to see her played by someone like Sako(if he decides to pick her up), but it should be up to the competitors.
If we were going to have a disaster we would have had it already. 18 characters are out now (2 DLC) and the most game breaking thing we had was a glitch that makes Vega fly in the sky like SFxT if hit a certain way during his V Trigger. Which never even happened in tournament. That glitch was patched out during Alexâs release.
SFV is just too fair to have stuff like that happen. Even if the character has some cheap stuff, itâs not going to get past J.Wong and Fuudo putting buttons in good spots. SF has always been good for having fundamentals overcome the cheap stuff. Itâs not as much of an issue as in anime or marvel where there are many ways to bypass someoneâs fundamentals and then you are in trouble.
97 percent of the time the issue is overblown when it comes to DLC characters. I think NRS has been the only game series where BS new/DLC characters add that much of a problem. Cinder in KI Season 2 was pretty cheap and released right before Evo, but still only had one Japanese guy make top 8 with him and didnât make top 3.
Blazblue had its infamous issue with Kokonoe being OP as hell and she was still useable at the majority of tournaments and Evo. She was just really cheap and slipped by the DLC rule since she was available at launch and there was no patch coming for a while. Unless the character has an overly easy to implement glitch that freezes the game, just let them play.
Most of the complaints during early SFV were about a mid tier character that wasnât winning anything (R.Mika). That just shows you the balance and solidness of the gameplay in V so far.
I agree on the fact that SFV hasnât had any gamebreaking stuff regardig glitches, aside from the Vega example you gave. Regarding the actual characters, it does show that if anything , atleast the actual gameplay and the characters are being thoroughly tested. It would fucked up if it actually were to happen though if something were to be found right before EVO. Although a small annoyance with the addition of Guile was the sound going wierd for a few seconds after it. Although a small annoyance and nothing that impacts the gameplay, it does go to show that stuff can mess up.
With the extra month preparing for Ibuki and the story mode i imagine it will be even more thoroughy tested and chances of something going wrong or some shit being found out will be a lot lower.
Probably the biggest reason why tournament players wouldnât want Ibuki at EVO is the extra work theyâll have to put into learning just that matchup on short notice. Especially a character that looks to have the potential to have scary mixups.
You know what I want⌠I want Ibuki to have an AA jab as godlike as Ryuâs.
Tournament players are always just scared of the unknown and anything that adds variance to the gameplay. Itâs like when people banned Algol from Soul Calibur IV when he wasnât even that cheap. He just looked cheap and felt cheap so people just got him out of there.
The game is already made to be pretty honest. Ibuki isnât going to come out with anything that will let 3 people get top 8 with her this Evo. Ibuki players have to put in as much or more work to learn how to deal with 17 other characters played by players who have been using them for months. There is just as much pressure for an Ibuki to perform as all it takes is not knowing how to deal with one situation vs one character and that could potentially put you out of a tournament. Theyâre going to have to study just as hard to make sure they learn 17 different matchups of characters more established in the meta 2 weeks before Evo. Thatâs a lot of work for a 900 health character that has a projectile resource and a 3 bar V Trigger with varying times to execute and potential setups.
If people put in similar amount of work to research how to fight Ibuki before she launches as Ibuki players do researching their opponents, shouldnât have problems. People just donât want to do any research and be protected from what they donât know or donât use.
You know what I want⌠I want Ibuki to have an AA jab as godlike as Ryuâs.
But her b.mp was a great AA in SF4 and still looks good. why jab?
Here you go you kunoichi lovers:
^nice drawing!
Does Ibuki have an ex version of her command dash? I imagine she hasnt.

Not that I know of, no. She has ex raida, and ex kazegiri, and ex kunaiâs. But thatâs ok, you got like 3 v-reversalâs and ex kazegiri to escape. Parachute as the last resort.
^nice drawing!
Thanks!
Whatever, I donât want to hear all this speculation stuff going on.
I want to play Ibuki when I go to EVO. I donât even care if I get bodied in my first match, I wanna get bodied with my ace boon coon.
Whoa, this isnât her alternate from usf4⌠Sheâs wearing a dress?? Thatâs rare to see. Where did you find story mode already?
It was shown on the SFV Crash stream.

Huh, Iâm quite surprised. Wish I could understand what itâs saying. Itâs really late at night posting this, but hopefully we get some input later on. Thanks for posting it.
