Watching WSO it looked like they were confirming s.mk because there was a huge delay between the mk and the sweep.
But I agree, it looks like Capcom took out footsies cr.mp xx neckbreaker/tsumuji and replaced it with that target combo. Maybe cr.mp xx kunai will be more useful, but man it sucks to have limited kunais
Would the glide be less useless than it is now but not OP like it used to be if she could cancel it with kunai instead of having to wait for it to be over? I don’t know shit about balancing, which is why I’m asking.
I’m pretty sure confirming s.MK to sweep target should be a thing so I’m already ready to practice that.
Other than that I’m guessing most other confirms will be into a target combo launch of some type into raida or just general confirm into raida. Possibly kunai has frame advantage for follow up into LK kazekiri or something as well. EX kunai may be good for some confirms as well.
I’m unsure about that, the overhead looks to be EASILY reactable. It also seems you have to be really close to combo from it.
It will be strong as a way to beat out throws though.
It’s like Chun Li’s overhead but a bit better. You can combo off of it so it’s more useful in footsies than hers for hopping lows and such and you still get a guaranteed combo as long as you catch the opponent sleeping. May be able to get extra options if it lands on counter hit.
I wonder if EVO allowing Ibuki will affect how Capcom will treat her release. I’m afraid they nerf/gimp/delay her to avoid problems in such a big event.
Is it confirmed that she will be playable at Evo? Its definitely still gonna be more than a week after she launches before Evo starts. Not even sure why they debated not making her playable
Im sure every character took background nerfs before they launched that we may not even know about. It only hurts you if you knew about it
Oh I guess the poll is already over. Im sure the majority said yes. Its not like anyone’s going to figure her out well enough to run a train at Evo any ways. She’s got way too much stuff going on and things to learn
I don’t think even Sako would have brought her out for Evo for maybe more than one match up. She would have had to been out for at least a couple months.
I’m really hoping they take the month delay to make some improvements to her, as I really wasn’t super impressed with what they deemed “improvements” for her.
For her new glide kite ability, every time I saw a player use it, it looks like her opponent was able to easily punish it with a backdash.
For the new ground Kunai’s, they’re cool, but I don’t understand their purpose? Like Combofiend said, Ibuki’s style is generally either pressure or mixups. Throwing Kunai from across the screen doesn’t seem to serve either of those purposes. Perhaps they could be used in short-range combos, and I’ve seen the bomb explosion and juggling usage, but it just seems like other moves would be more useful. Am I missing something?
Taking away her spin kicks and the threat of a neckbreaker for fireball characters are a pretty big nerf too…
They can be used to make unsafe normals or target combos safe on block, for combos, or in neutral as a long range poke maybe. And, the button hold ones are all different; the fierce one could catch people neutral jumping at mid-screen.
