Oh shit - so there are vids!? HYPE!
We have some bad news guys…
The audio quality on the commentary is horrible, and sadly isn’t up to par for my expectations to be put up on youtube. If people really want to have like the commentary that we have I can try to burn it on a CD or something and give to you.
The good news is Jeff believes it was the recording program we used (the default windows audio recorder program), but he downloaded another program and he says that the quality is way better. We also believe that we are going to have to find a way to bring the commentary towards the back of the venue to avoid picking up the in game sound.
I do appologize you guys, the commentary was sounding good with all the different guest commentators like KK, Elliott, Mandel, Jeff. I’m sure Ian and Super Joe’s was hillarious too (haven’t heard it yet). But hey I learned a lot from last night’s run, and I’m going to try my hardest to make things run smoother and better for future events.
In regards to future guest commentators, I’m going to shoot PM"s to ppl that I would like to do it. I’ll be specifically looking at certain characters that are playing each week, but also like if people have personality behind their voice, if they can keep it somewhat professional, and most importantly being able to click with me. I just don’t want some ppl to get butt hurt if I don’t choose you. Cause it’s definately nothing personal.
Also I appologize if I wasn’t like as social as I usually am, especially when like people would come up to me and I would cut em off cause I was trying to get a practice going, or something like. I definately wasn’t trying to be an asshole about shit, but I just wanted to get things rolling ya know.
Now feedback on practices, can i get some please? I’m already trying to get another set up so that we can have people practice on that while a match is being played so we can like flow through. Also 10 mins. is a little too long for practice time so maybe 5 min? I’m going to need to get a timer to clock it cause I know that some teams got 5 min. some teams got more than 10 min. and I do appologize for that too.
I’m not going to change the scoring options or the formats on team order and blind picks for those. I’m under the impression that more points lead to more problems. Also just so you guys can keep track:

If you have multiple setups for practice setup (so two additional setups) I think it’s fine, I think you should have the setups available for a team to practice the match before theirs, so that when the match is over, the next match is ready to go (maybe a small break in between if you want to do interviews or something)
yeah, but my only issue would be that there wouldn’t be casuals on that until after the matches are over…I don’t want people to like deter their attention over to that ya know? I’ll have to find a way to set it up. Cause I have a feeling that going off of trust isn’t going to work lol.
Also tournament fees. I got 10 ppl so far out of 48…I will be getting in contact with you one way or another to see when you can pay me. And as a heads up…no checks. They are nothing but a promise. Again if you want to set up a payment plan just come talk to me, I have 3 ppl already doing that.
Put it on smaller TVs in the other room and have it be strictly no casuals until TWs is done.
I should be able to pay you Saturday, but it might be the paycheck after that.
edit: maybe even have the warmup area or whatever in that side conference room thing if they will let us, and only let in participants.
So no commentary for the matches? Sad because I thought Frank did an awesome commentating my matches. I was actually listening to you while I was playing and enjoyed it =D
Bummer about the audio feed. Moral of the story is don’t use default windows programs. I’d like to guest commentate next time. 
Sorry I couldn’t make it out to the first gathering guys, I had something important come up that I needed to do. I will be at the next for sure.
So how much trouble would it be to just put the commentary into mp3 files for each match, so we can just play it in the background of each match. Either way we’d like the commentary for our match.
Fixed it for you =p. AFIAK Jeff has all of the audio files still. I’ll see if we can’t put it on a CD and hand it out next saturday. I mean I’d like to listen to them too even if they are awful because I want to go back and see what are somethings that I can improve on for commentating. Thanks for the feedback though Riki, glad that you enjoyed my commentary. But now I gotta wonder if the fact that we were so close to the players did that cause any distractions? Ultimately I would like to set the commentary from the back. But this is something that Jeff and I will try to fix so that we have it available for you guys (hopefully by next Saturday we’ll have it worked out).
I could hear the commentary but the only thing that really bothered me was this one guy that kept yelling out moves and such, don’t even know who it was.

Good shit Frank, week 1 was extremely hype, and I’m sure it will only get better.
I don’t know if Paul G fucks with SRK but I gotta give this guy his props, he improved hella since the last time I saw him play, which was maybe at Narrows, lol, definitely caught me off guard. The FC team is no joke, good shit guys. Wakeup call city.
Just wanted to say good work on Tournament Wars Frank. That was pretty sweet. I think most of the matches were pretty much down to the wire. I don’t know if that was planned, but it made for a good start. Can’t wait for our next match! My only suggestion would be to severly shorten practice time. Or maybe even drop it completely. We don’t get practice time before a match at a tournament. So it seems a little unnecessary to have practice at TWs. Other than that, awesome event. And good shit to Team FATS. That is a buff team to draw for the opening of the season.
