gill not banned in 3rd strike, someone go take that haha.

Ban Gil and it’s all good.

oh and dont forget to ban akuma in hdr

Sounds good to me so far…

Banned characters now include:

  1. Gill - Third Strike
  2. Akuma - HDR

there are also no rounds in TVC. stop being lazy.

Any other errors Booty?

does anyone go to this for tekken? also for hdr do you mean 3 out of 5 rounds ? gross. 3 out of 5 that is more of a tekken thing sf is generally 2/3 rounds.

anyway GL munn3y if u go since no one good plays HDR in milwaukee except for like joe you should see how you do against other people

EDIT: Milwaukee tournament is in fact on the 25th i’ll talk to some peeps now that you are running more than FPS and SF4 and see if anyone actually wants to roll up there this time.

It’s great to see there are tourneys in my hometown!!! Unfortunately I can’t make it out and support my Gf works that weekend and I have to run a tourney of my own on Sunday the 25th. Good luck tho guys. If these are held regularly I’ll definitely try to get the Milwaukee crew to ride with me to the next one.

Can definitely do 2/3 rounds, that would help speed things up anyways if we get more people than expected. However, for later rounds in the tourney we should do 3/5 don’t you think?

Hope you can make it to this one Syxx573.

We’ve got a lot of equipment and a great location for this event!

@ footmeetsskull

No worries man on not making it to this one, the next fighting related tourney will be on December 11th, so you’ll have to make it to that one as it will be… Epic. More info to come on that event soon.

OK I’m gonna let you know straight up what the standards are though it’s up to you what you are gonna do in the end obviously.

The standard for most 2d games is 2/3 rounds, and for 3d it’s 3/5 rounds. Don’t ask me why, it’s just the way things are. If I had to guess, it’s because rounds are generally shorter in 3d games compared to 2d.

But anyway usually what most tournaments do when they get to winners and losers finals they keep the number of rounds the same and then change the number of matches to best of 5 MATCHES, and then grand finals is usually best of 5 matches but for 3d games such as tekken or calibur it is usually best of 7 matches. There is no need to change the number of rounds. In fact, changing the number of rounds can severly upset the balance in the tiers between the characters and doing less rounds and more matches gives players the opportunity to change up characters to try to counter pick, which is more important in some games compared to others… it can be especially important in ST, some iterations of Tekken, 3S, and as people learn the game more, probably SSF4 as well.

Regardless, most tournament players will want to go by evo standards which are generally very reasonable, and therefore you will almost never ever see 3/5 rounds for SF and most other 2D games.

On top of that, I know why you want people to go double blind on the character select at the begining of each set, but to be honest, it’s unnecessary to do every single time. It’s better to just offer the ability to go double blind of people are stuck at the character select screen, which I’ve done at every tournament that I’ve run… but not once has anyone ever used it. Doing it every match is just overkill in my opinion and can be daunting if you get a big turn out to have the person running the bracket have to supervise the beginning of each match in that fasion rather than just letting people play and coming to the judge if there is an issue at that point.

Anyway, the milwaukee scene has gotten pretty big so it would be nice to see some of the dudes roll up there. Last time I think just munn3y went and he doesn’t really play sf4 and still did alright. It would be interesting to see if any of our other guys get into the mix this time.

I also went to Focus Fire and brought my crew along. You should’ve seen my lil bro play dude. He made this other guy quit the game(SSFIV) T_T My cousin leveled his Adon up during his match!!! These scrubs are learning as they go XD

It’s a 3-4 hour drive up there, I’ll see if I’m up to going again. I like that TvC there… I wonder if anyone is going to play? If that crew from Minnesota is coming to this, things are gonna get wild again XD

SSF4 should also have the Ultra rule. Were if you are the winner you match switch your Ultra but ONLY before your opponent selects their Ultra, but you can do it after your opponent selects their character. Just follow Evo rules. Ban color 11 & 12 as well.

I’m planning on showing up to this. It’s like 3 blocks from my house, so getting there won’t be an issue.

im in for the ssf4 and tekken 6 ones

TvC will NOT have T.E. sticks obvi, but we’ll dig around for a couple Hori’s or comparable…

Wondering if Keits and Kurasa will show up for this one…
:chainsaw:

Sounds as though the Minnesota crew will be making it to this one. Hope we can see another MN vs. WI showdown, possibly a little IL & IA as well…? Hoping to get at least 35-50 people @ this event.

There will be a large projector feeding from a screen where the top fighters will sit and play.

We are going to try and do a better job at streaming this tournament.

There are a few new players we are trying to get into the scene that live near La Crosse that have great SF talent but have never played in competitive tournaments before. One of the guys has a mean Dhalsim, reminded me of Perfect Sin.

DP, my bad.

@ Eckertmania, anyway you can get your nephew to actually make it to this event?

I can try.

f’real where’s iowa and illinois at?
