Tournament Blackheart

Ooh, do tell me more ^_______________________^

lol that launcher to infinite combo is so unpractical! It involves very strict timing and proper use of what I call demon manipulation. Basically you launch and throw the sj.FP so that it’s connecting while you’re still on you way up from the super jump. Right as they’re connecting you do an air dash immediately to a sj.RH so that blackheart floats with his demons. Somewhere between all that you have to judge if the demons are hitting high or low on the character and hold up or down when you do the air dash to the sj.RH so that the character moves to the appropriate spot to get caught… like I said it’s not practical lol

I can tell you’re still kinda new to blackheart due to you inflatuation with the infinite, but use it in moderation. It gives the opponent lots of meter which isn’t always worth the damage you get from doing it. I’d advise only doing it to kill a cable or storm. And only do it do that storm if there’s no cable coming up next. One other exception would be to kill a second or last character since the affects of giving them meter is less detrimental.

You definitely want to look up Jaminis since I believe he’s the only one you’ll find vids of with a BH/Jin combination. I use BH with ALL the assist but I haven’t recorded stuff with him for all of them. One last thing. I advise you experiment with using BHs throw in accordance with the Jin assist, there’s some really nasty resets and what not you can do with it.

edit: thank you blackheart prince =P
I’m actually considering making some vids of BH with a few more characters such as Guile, Charlie, Tron, enter character I should be adding to this list here

After a few years of playing other teams, I’m going back to playing Blackheart. He’s too fun lol.

I’m playing two teams right now, Watts and Mag/BH/Sent.

I’d encourage some others to try out Mag/BH/Sent sometime. It’s a pretty fun team with a lot of ways to kill people.

Yeah, i see what you mean. Always good to know every technique no matter what the difficulty. But hearing you talk about launcher to infinites now kinda makes me worried about learnin it lol. So i think i’ll just stick with my normal game for the moment.

Hehehe, i am pretty new to blackheart actually >.< But my love for infinites is something that just doesn’t die down. I still get a pretty nice rush from doing them despite my boring facial expressions (concentrating face). I know the super meters are putting me at big risk but if i can kill my opponents characters quickly or skillfully i hope it won’t be too big of an issue. My goal is to one day beat Crizzle and Tyram with said team, and if i can beat them then i stand a chance against the big league guys. Blackheart is a monster of a character waiting to be unleashed so hopefully i can make that known to tourney goers.

I actually watched ONE jaminis match and the ONE time he used jin, he got horribly raped @_@. BUT i did learn quite a few tricks, doing a dash on a character switch after a KO and some good assist work with jin. I also learned what NOT to do with blackheart/jin combo. I dunno why he did half of the stuff he did in that video but i’m assuming he was nervous/old video. Although i’m sure i still have stuff to learn from that guy, but i think i guess i gotta make up stuff for jin/blackheart myself. I am gonna watch some of his other vids to see more blackheart tricks he knows. I guess its not a complete loss. :wonder:

Very old video. That one came to mind just cuz it’s the only one I could think of that showed the BH/Jin combination. He’s much better with it now. There was a bunch of stuff that I was teaching him though when I finally met him in person like a month ago. Message me on whatever messenger you use and I’ll show you a couple things that you might want to incorporate into your gameplay for BH.

Aight BHK thanks man. I figured it had to be an old video based on what you guys told me about the guy (or am i thinking of someone else o.O?). I’ll be sure to add you today if not tomorrow, well later today seeing as how its nice and late lol. Anybody recommend any good blackheart tourney matches?

he’s got some stuff from like last year on zachd’s site but I don’t think he was using Jin, that’s all. What messenger do you use? Oh and if you’re on zachd’s site, look up a guy named Tao. Not spectacular BH play but I thought that he at least looked to be solid.

Gamegeezer, Piece of advice. Since you have both BH and Ironman, this is a situation where the BH infinite is dangerous. After 2 reps tag in Ironman, execute a dashjump, and kill via Ironman’s infinite XX proton. Then start guardbreaking into more infinites into more proton cannons. This will either end the game outright or leave him with an insurmountable deficit to overcome.

Here in NY, there used to be an insane Dhalsim user, HE used to use Dhalsim/blackheart/jin. The team looks crasy, like it could not work at all, but he always made it happen somehow…

Anyway, is sad that gamegeezer doesn’t want to use cable, cause cable could really improve his BH/ironman game. It’s sp easy getting an infinite out of cable assisst with ironnman.

Thanks for the advice bro i’ll try that. But whats wrong with using BH’s infinite (since he’s there) then inferno XX qcf + kk super -> iron - proton cannon -> jin - qcb + pp super? Or is that an inferior/lazy way of thinking? Also how big is the difference in the amount of meter the opponent builds off of that? Although i kinda get where your going with that. Thanks for the tips, gives me more to practice once i stop playing rival schools 2.

Yeah man, i know but i just REALLY hate cable. words can’t describe it, and it’d be armageddon the day i used him. I just can’t stand to play as the guy, it urks me. :wasted: Thanks for the tip though >.<

Game: don’t do inferno to HOD. Do a judgement day super straight from the super into proton cannon if you already have the bars. This almost kills a character so unless you hadn’t even touched the character yet, that should be enough to kill them.

And to answer your question… for every one bar you get, they’ll get about 3 from the infinite. Not worth it unless the reasons I gave you earlier apply.

I believe every time you hit them with the demons three times in the infinite, they get a level. There are very few situations where that will benefit you in a match. If you decide to use it, you had better kill whatever character you caught…

Do a few reps ov the infinite until their health is low enough that you know your next character will kill them via DHC (infinite xx Inferno xx HoD xx HSF…).

I figured since this topic seems to keep coming up, I’d make a post on it…

Situations you should not use the infinite in…
1)Playing against team Santhrax and the infinite isn’t on their Storm.
2)Playing against team Sin and the infinite is not on their Cable.
3)Playing against team Clockwork and the infinite is not on their Strider.
(unless you’re killing Doom).
4)Playing against team Combofiend and the infinite is not on Ironman.

Summary. The infinite isn’t a “never use it” tool. It’s not as dangerous as some people make it seem. It just gives your opponent a lot of meter, which isn’t exactly bad unless you giving this meter to characters that can really hurt you with it.

1)You don’t want Storm to have a lot of meter to Hailstorm you with cuz that really limits your options to playing against her with Blackheart. Also, if you gave her all that meter just to kill their assist, expect a dead character every time she touches you since they’re gonna cancel to Sentinel to finish the job.

2)You don’t give Cable bar… EVER. That’s just asking to lose a match to someone you probably should have beat b/c of one tiny little mess up.

3)When is Strider most dangerous? When he has meter. So why give it to him, just to kill Sentinel.

4)Team Combofiend is dangerous b/c frame cancels to IM can happen at any point if they have meter. Also, any hit can be the death of a character. Why is that? Because Mag cancels to IM who then cancels to Sentinel. Take IM out of the equations and you should be able to avoid unnecessary deaths assuming you’re playing right.

*For teams that consist of the pair of Storm, Cable, or Strider… use your better judgement, as it’s probably best not to use the infinite at all.

iINFINITES ALL DAY

THEY AINT SEEING MY RESET AND CROSS-UPS!!!

imo

Thanks guys i’ll try to remember it. I tested out my team yesterday against VGJunky and he beat me a good majority of the matches yesterday. There were a couple of times were i held him down so good he couldn’t really stop me. But for the rest of the matches that either came close or were absolute rape it seems i needed to switch my strategy around. I noticed armageddon super barely stops air attempts, i don’t know if i’m applying it wrong or what but its very tough to hit my opponent with it and if they do get hit they usually get out of it and punish with projectile/super. And by that time i can’t crossup with IM in time because armageddon is over. Another problem i have is a solo jin, god damn he gets raped once he’s by himself, not like IM or BH where i can still play keep away or some shinannigans. But thats just my own personal flaw probably. Cable seems to really mess me up, which sucks because he’s the most commonly used character in the game. And if i don’t kill him with BH at the beginning of the round i pretty much lost the game. But he says i’m getting better with my team, seems my IM/BH is annoying him lol. So i guess i just gotta practice more and more and i’ll get it. We plan on playing today so maybe i can record whats going on and put it up for viewing.

LOL @ lovepig87

both BH and ironman arent really training mode characters(well maybe ironman could be, but not necessary)

so i really hope that when you say practice i hope you mean going out and playing other ppl
the more experience you get with BH the better

you get to learn a whole bunch of situational stuff that cant be learned anywere else

and you get to practice zoning, traps, and baits

lol joe you is a foo!
try using IM’s beam assist, and play a more offensive style of BH. Best for playing against Cables. Armageddon should be used in… 3 situations that I can think of.

  1. You have a guaranteed combo in the corner with it.
  2. To frame cancel from a c.mp with BH into Arm into Proton Cannon.
  3. If you miss a super and they’re trying to come down on top of you. You cancel to Arm at the last second so that they’ll get stuck in the block stun. I can give you the specific timing on this, you’ll just have to experiment and learn.

Yeah i see what ya mean bro. I’m just trying to get even more comfortable with IM’s infinite setups and BH’s many different techniques. Where i’m from, there are no arcades and there isn’t much competition so i’m stuck with what i got and the one guy i know who plays me on a semi-regular basis. I am still getting used to a new medium to play on which is my stick, and so this might take some time to get used to, especially if i rarely play any other people  But hopefully i can get my town alive again and get some mvc2 stuff going. I want to take this team to an actual tourney and place high.

Thanks man, i will try this. I’ll experiment with the timing on this one. Does mashing during an armageddon increase meteor count/damage done? I half noticed twirling the stick around (without mashing buttons) seems to do more (it might just be me but it seems that way). Thanks again man, i seem to be doing better thanks to your videos. Just takes more battles to get comfortable doing it all. :wgrin:

EDIT: Oh and i still hate cable =)

I LOVE cable… well… at least I love playing against him. I have that much confidence in my BH.
