Cool I’ll add you then. Look for the name T00LMAN211.
Can you do a party with winner-sits in exhibition on the Xbox One? I’d love the “feel” of the arcade with some people so I can actually learn.
Scrub, scrub, triple my rank, scrub doesn’t really lend itself to me picking up on my tactics.
I was a little unsure about playing this game at all. But after watching some matches from apex 2014 I really got into it. I assumed you were doing all manual combos with orchid their pr rog? Either way it was impressive gonna be playing orchid now. I feel this is going to be rough on pad. Those manuals feel like sf combos
Manuals feel like pulling teeth in online matches. I can’t get the timing for the life of me except in practice, and it kills me when I get smoked by manuals. I’m so jealous.
Manuals with lights are fairly easy and a good starter point for learning them. Eventually you want to be using heavy manuals though. My real issue with manuals and Orchid is that they are still fairly easy to break. The two moves that are easy to manual into are the heavy (hold) versions of flik-flak and ich-ni-san. The hold version of ich-ni-san is painfully obvious that it is the heavy version and easy to react to and break. I’d say it’s as risky as heavy auto doubles in that sense. The hold version of flik-flak is less obvious, but becomes easier to tell over time. So the easiest manuals are lp or lk > Hold flik-flak or ich-ni-san, but come with a good risk of being broken if people know her linkers well.
I wish we had accurate frame data for the game though. Prima is practically useless and the in game numbers aren’t completely right either. I swear I’ve done manual links where it shouldn’t have been possible because it would be a 0 frame link. Unless the frame data was wrong.
manuals apparently do not work at a street fighter standard. I’m thinking of making a video to explain this situation so ppl may be able to figure out manuals in training mode. I have a theory that manuals are more associated with frame canceling rather than just on numbers and some inputs cancel more frames than others.
hmm i dono you guys have probably already done this, but going into training mode and turning on hitboxes is a really good way to learn manuals. just do an attack, wait for her hurtbox to return to normal, and just as it does hit ur manual. but toolman why do you that input cancel theory tho?
Because traditionally speaking, you can figure out if combos link based on information given on frames. However, it has been noted by me that combos in KI3 (manuals and “one frame links”) are found through trial and error rather than doing mathematical notation. For example, Look at Orchid. if you hit an opponent with firecat (instinct mode), I do not see any real info on hit stun. If I’m mistaken there some1 please correct me. However, if u do a manual cr.hp and bring a firecat out, you’ll find that you can manual into ALMOST any normal again. Why is that if firecat doesn’t provide alot of hitstun? The answer can’t really be found in frame data. It just seems to work that way. There are SOOO MANY manuals in the game that ppl aren’t using yet that when guys say “I mastered manuals” I have to laugh at them. Once I can figure out how to combo into overheads on a regular basis, then I could truly say I have found every manual in the game.
I think you may be on to something Toolman.
I was in the lab last night and found out you can actually Manual cr. HP from a Heavy Slide linker which it says is 4 frame advantage. Makes no sense to me.
u can manual cr.hp from SOOO many linkers
^ yep. You can manual it after every linker except the lights and medium slide.
exactly. and ppl will go crazy when they find out what I call the auto manual
Not sure if anyone knows this, but you can actually manual after an Auto double.
yessir.
Kreative, in case u didn’t know, double manuals are possible too.
I heard Orchid’s manuals are pretty easy. What linker is best to get consistent Light, medium and hard manuals after? With Glacius I use MP or HP shatter linker. MP shatter gives you like 3 framees to do medium manuals and 2 frames to do hard manuals. HP shatter gives you 3 frame link for hard manual.
The easiest is HP rekka followed by HK flik-flak. Both can let you light, medium, or Cr. HP manuals fairly easy. MP rekka is the next step down. You can manual in the lights or mediums, and maybe the Cr. HP but I can’t remember.
