All good, I managed to score a zip car rental for a few hours so I’ll be able to make it for a bit after 8:30pm. I won’t count on food remaining for me and will be happy to donate to see great events like this continue! Looking forward to an intro to the community tonight. Thanks to everyone to came out the HQ BBQ. Sorry I had to leave early, I had a headache from the sun and standing in front of the grill all day. Special thanks to Stephen Munro for hosting and organizing this event, Quan for helping out big with the grill, Y for bringing the grill, Hideyuki Henderson for bringing an extra grill, Anant Pai and Scott Farrell for donating towards the food, Danny Truong for bringing food and countless others for bringing food and booze, you know who you are and we certainly couldn’t have done it without you guys. Had a good time last night. I was the guy playing Rogue on MvC2. Glad to see there was a big turnout and agree with White_r that you guys should try to do it again before summer ends =)
I would like to give out my deepest thanks to everyone who showed up and supported the HQ’s first BBQ.
To be honest, we had alot of worries in preparation for the BBQ, but the community came out and took care of everything.
We needed extra food - People went out of their way to call me up and asked if they could provide ANYHTING
We needed Tables and chairs - People went to other’s places to pick up tables and chairs for the BBQ
We needed extra equipment - People lined up, offering full setups for use of the BBQ
Our Grill decided to not run on full power - Many people brainstormed solutions and offered quick solutions
I can’t thank everyone enough for helping make this BBQ complete.
On top of all this, people thought this wasn’t enough:
I was TOLD to go get the donations box out so they can offer whatever help they could.
Even when the tournaments split half the pot for HQ, the winners (NickCam/SpiralGuy/JsMaster) still took a portion of their winnings and donated to HQ.
Its really a great feeling to see everyone support each other like this to such ends.
In the end, with the pot from the tournaments and the donations box (PLZ & THZ - Deal with it):
We rasied $580!!!

Last night was godlike. I was mad paranoid at the start of the day. Didn’t think we could have so many people at the HQ and not have a single problem. It was good to chill with old homeys I haven’t seen in a while. Stop by the HQ more often guys. Good shit to the Sauga crew. Even though Stephen is 100% right about you guys, it’s always a blast getting drunk with y’all.
