Toronto blank box on sale

Hi Joe,

I have tried to send two PM’s to you, but as far as I can tell they are not going through for some reason. Sooooo for the third time here goes

I originaly tried to send a PM regarding the lack of avilability of the JLF and that I had snap in’s ordered, but it apears that the JLF’s are still avilable, just not from the big two from this site. I would not be supprised if they were a bit more expensive, but they are avilable. Also, since buttons are a whopping 2 bucks each I am supprised others are backing out due to this, but money is money, and everyone reserves the right to choose their expenses. So it does not look like I need to cancel my order or anything. Now regarding some info you requested:
pm me your prefer button layout… i will see if i can work it into the next design… there has been a few request for 6 button boxes

6 button guys

if i were to make the last 10 boxes with only the joystick cutout, the buttons holes not drilled… will you guys want that to do “custom” layouts? i can ask the CNC guy to skip the holes if that’s the case
This may be the best option if there the above precut layout is not an option. Would it be possible for you to provide the CNC file you are using for the top so I could modify it and utilize the 6 button layout? I could then find someone locally with a CNC to cut the top. If this were the direction we choose, I would ask for you to not include the joystick cutout either, so I could position it as I would like as well.

guys who are asking for shipping… please PM me your exact shipping address so I can go and quote you on the shipping cost and start the process running!
**** Oh hey I put my address for everyone…anyone want my CC info while I’m at it!!! I guess PM me (hopefully it goes thorough) and I’ll forward you my address,

I need to cancel my order because I have snap-in buttons / wrong joystick etc…
I know you are trying to come up with a solution for this…but so you do not loose too many more orders what about thining out the top MDF, adjusting the top plexi / accrylic (or whatever it is) to the correct thickness for snap-in’s, bolting or gluing the MDF top portion, then the top plastic would still cover for a seamless look. Well not seamless, but no visable anchors anyway. Just trying to offer some suggestions that would not add too much if any additional expense to the project.

Thanks for the time and energy you have put into this btw, you have a solid box, and I have no doubt that you will end up selling all of them even if it requires waiting till other vendors can get restocked on Joysticks and what not.

Regards,

Hey Joe, I need to drop out of this for now as well.

I may be interested in a couple of these, but Im going to wait until pictures of the final desgin commit. I’m in no rush though, so I may just wait till the next batch. If you happen to go to the post office to ship this first batch to some of the people in the states, I was wondering if you could quote me a rough estimate on the shipping price for 2 of these to zip code 92009 (southern california).

Thanks,
bdschuss

I have been away for a few days to do some work on the snap in change and the LS32… hence why there hasn’t been any updates.

I know many of you are dropping out over the fact that the design only allows screw on buttons, I will update the list later on today to reflect the drop outs…

I have already committed to 40-50 boxes once I had a “firm” number

people dropping out after the fact is going to delay future batches since I have limited funds to recycle into the project. Future batches are on hold until I figure out something. Maybe I will need to charge up front first

-joe

Sorry I ordered the snap ins also so I’ll need to drop out also…sorry again for it…

sillypuddy, how’s the first batch going?

since everybody is dropping out like mad, and i specifically said these boxes are for screw ons… i don’t know where the “misunderstanding” was

it’s discouraging to do something for the toronto crowd and get stuck in this situation

-joe

Not to be a jerk, but you didn’t confirm that it was for screw-in buttons until 3/12, post #170. But I wouldn’t have thought it mattered that much, either. I’m a bit surprised there’s such a preference for snap-ins.

Hopefully you can resolve this in the design. I guess it’s a bit more complicated since you’d have to widen the holes on the top wooden panel and also provide screws through the acrylic layer. I say don’t get discouraged, the people still want it.

I guess you right… the fact that JLFs are out of stock everywhere doesn’t help either

the LS32 style will cost more money since I have to pay to get it tooled up… majority of the money is going into the CNC setup phase

-joe

Just in case anyone missed it before as far as I can tell

http://www.arcadeshop.de/shopping_cart.php

has the JLF in stock…

and screw in buttons…

http://www.arcadeshop.de/index.php?cPath=103_91&sort=2a&page=2

Price seems about the same as anything else…not sure on the reputation of the company…

Still seems strange to me that people are backing out due to snap-in’s vs screw-in’s. My guess is that they are buying something else, snaged a Norris, etc. Just my assumption…shrug

Hey Joe,

I’m not sure if my earlier PM went through but I’d like to order 2 cases if there’s room on the list. My name is Westley and I live in Manhattan, New York.

Thanks for making these, they look stellar.

All the best,

Westley

i like the design, best of luck

It doesnt sound like im going to be getting one of these boxes sense the demand is so high would u be willing to put up some work plans so I can see if I can make my own?

Hi Joe,

Any update on the status of these, or the plan? It sounds like you need to have the full order filled before doing a run on them? Was not sure how you will be handling the layout issues, and I would like to have everything setup on my end if I need to recruit someone locally to help out.

Throw us a bone!

with people backing out and such, I have reworked the schedule.

I will be making only 30 available in the first run and the remaining boxes will be reworked so that they can be used with LS32 (once i get a test LS32)

there will be a few blank boxes (no holes) for those who want to do their own layout, if you want a blank one let me know and I will deal with that separate
