yes… i will just let people jack thread and crap thread next time…
we made a choice to go with mdf for the weight… we tried pine and it was a soft wood and it’s not heavy enough (in our opinion)
i never made any references to the work that jtuyen did, except for the fact that i mistaken he made them at home… i apologize to him on that one…
i don’t treat the guys on the list as customers… i am just getting a bunch of guys together to share my contract with the woodworking company. so i don’t think of it as losing customers… the two guys that dropped out wanted to get parts + box from infamouskid at the same time… i have no issues wth that… perhaps we can still work on that one since he seems to have the parts department handled
Competition is inevitable. A new ‘stick builder’ is popping up every other day in the Trade forum. You can’t stop or downplay every one that comes out.
Rather than down talk somebody else’s work, just up your game and offer stuff the other guy can’t (like mass production). Personally I think you guys should focus on what you do best and try to hit different sub-niche markets rather than compete for the same customers.
Let’s face it, hand production will never be able to compete with the numbers CNC production will be able to meet. And CNC production will never hit all of the customizations each person wants (unless you want to significantly slow down production). Not every customer wants a super customized stick, and not every customer wants a standard setup. If you focus on what you do best, everyone is happy. If anything, being able to produce in numbers right now has a HUGE advantage given the current market.
I may have to back out too because i was originally planning to go for this case and infamouskid’s kits parts ( everywhere else is sold out now ) but his kit has OSBF buttons which don’t fit in your case. Sry about this!
Are you planning to do a run that fits snap in buttons?
OSBF - Snap in, OSBN - screw in?
I will see if he can get OSBN instead of OSBF
EDIT: I’m still interested in one, the other curved case design isn’t wrist friendly :P, Seeing if i can get Screw in parts instead. Will send you a pm on monday
guys, if you want to back out I don’t have a problem with that. just let me know the same details (name, location) and I will take your name off
snap in buttons need a certain thickness of material to hold correctly (5mm to 8mm max) and we tried a few methods to get the correct balance between sturdyness and thickness of mdf + plexi. let me see if i can get the ls32 solution fast tracked…
